- cameron074, on 10/12/2007, -8/+105like off some hookers asses!
NPH wouldn't do that. - Plasmatica, on 10/12/2007, -2/+61I used to have a physics professor who kind of recommended snorting cocaine, which he claimed helped him study for his finals when he was a student. This same professor showed us Pulp Fiction during one class...I never got the point of that. It was a physics class for god's sake.
He never did some crazy ***** like this though. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+53Cocaine is a hell of a drug...
- knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -5/+51What the *****? Dave Chappelle couldn't have written this any better.
- Norse77, on 10/12/2007, -2/+46Now that's what I call higher learning.
- Coven, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32A retired teacher with a coke habit? That's one hell of a pension...
- cameron074, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32sounds like their priorities are in the right spot. You didn't say anyone got hurt. You're telling me that you can't see the difference in getting fired for having drugs in school and getting fired for accidentally creating an explosion(which didn't hurt anyone I'm assuming)?
Drugs = illegal
Teaching children about chemistry and accidentally blowing something up = not smart, but not illegal.
There, now you're not confused :) - dominasian, on 10/12/2007, -7/+34off hookers, now thats just weird
FTA "During her time as a full-time teacher at the school, as recently as 2004, she would have been one of the teachers involved in the school's drug education curriculum."
ill bet they that would have learned a little more than they needed to
Teacher:Cocaine is a drug that can be sborted or eaten in a rock form. Personally, i feel that the rocks are better, but if you want the best feeling go for the powder
Students: Umm. Is that information factual or... - saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27My high school chemistry teacher was once demonstrating how he could pound a nail into a board with a leather glove dipped in liquid nitrogen. Unfortunately, come third period, someone asked him a question just after he took the glove out of the liquid nitrogen bath. In the time it took him to answer, it thawed sufficiently that when he hit the nail, it went through the glove and his hand.
As far as I know, he's still teaching, and he was still my favorite chemistry teacher ever.
Teachers who take risks and captivate their students are the best of the bunch. Teacher who bring drugs to school (I didn't say use drugs, I said bring drugs to school) lack the common sense to be in a position of authority. I don't think it's that hard to figure out. - friend18, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30Whose the square who snitched?
- altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23She tried the bathroom but it was full of kids smoking pot.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -14/+35And you are bitching about having one of the most laid back sounding teachers ever?
Go back to getting wedgies point dexter! - imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23yeah in other countries it wouldn't be reported
- capiCrimm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22was I the only one surprised it was a chick?
- Spooky51, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Wooo! Western New York is back on Digg! Go Sabres!
And all it took was a coke-sniffing burnout elementary school teacher. - spyda45, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Jesus... I wonder how that conversation with the parents came up.
- nevaseez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15"In my day, when the teachers made you stay behind to do lines, it meant something much more innocent."
thats gold! - altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14perhaps you would have when you were 9?
- Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I had a chemistry teacher that showed us how to make the dry ice bombs. Apparently the school didn't know about it because right after the big boom there was a fire alarm and the teacher had us run into the classroom and walk out with the rest of the school. When asked about the incident later she'd always reply with "I have no recollection of the event in question...". Also, first day of class, she lit students hands on fire w/ soapy water full of gas.
THESE kinds of teachers are the ones that kept me wanting to go to school...If you can't see the difference...well -_-* - geodescent, on 10/12/2007, -9/+22point dexter?! wtf?! you fail at life
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19The only way to snort coke is off of a hookers back while sticking outside of a jumping cars moonroof. NPH is a pimp.
- bakagaigin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I take it you were in school in the 80's?
- razrielle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Drugs are bad, M'kay?
- therearenorules, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15@altjeringa
I don't think you got the joke. - jhaven, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15@dominasian: Orally ingested cocaine is inefficient and carries with it the risk of intestinal ischemia, and, as such, should really only be considered as a last choice method of administration.
- GQCarrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Here is a local link with video. I live outside of Buffalo and this was huge news.
http://www.wgrz.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=45049 - altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Damn good thing they don't drug test people teaching in higher education. Our universities would be vacant.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14sounds like first year at college:
Freebase 101, Gang-Bang Tutorial, and Oral Sex Workshop - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+18Does the hooker have to be alive to work? Because I have a dead one in the trunk of my car. I was going to just dump the body in the river but if there is still use from of her then I might keep it around unit it starts to smell and the neighbors start asking questions... have I gone too far...sorry.
- Salgat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10At least she didn't try to hide it when she was confronted.
- draebor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Well I certainly hope you brought enough candy to share with the class!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8People who do ***** like this are desperately trying to get caught.
- formatreinstall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7And if convicted of a crime, she won't get 1/4 as much jail time as the sub with the porno pop-ups.
- AtomicPC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Now I know what the glass on the desks are for.
- andrewrchambers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The author of that article really doesn't seem to care much - its written almost as a satire or something.
"In an incident that perhaps gives a new meaning to the phrase 'supply teacher'"
"In my day, when the teachers made you stay behind to do lines, it meant something much more innocent."
quite a witty journalist, and much better than "Get this scumbag in jail" I guess - Elloydo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7That's weird. What are teachers going to do next--start bedding their students?
- JohnnyHuh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Damn, that is one serious addiction if you can't stop snorting long enough to substitute teach a class. How very sad for her, I wonder if her problem pushed more of the students in the class towards or away from addiction?
- techfish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"She stated that she had a probloem, that she had an addiction, something she's been struggling with,' said Sergeant Frank Previte, of the Lewiston, NY police."
Nice typo. - Kuipo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@saska
Why on earth would he pound in the pointed end? How else would it go through his hand? I'm confused as to the logic here... - bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Hookers and blow, hookers and blow.
- Rikushix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6She may be a felon, but I bet she would teach some kick ass chemistry.
- seph429, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4for the record cocaine is only detectable in a drug test 3-4 days after use
- fr0ng, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Ahh..the public education system. Gotta love America!
- itsHef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Damn,in front of kids? That must have been some great blow.
- altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9never much cared for it. It cost to much and doesn't last long enough. Which of course means you have to do more every 30 mins and risk getting caught in the process. Hmmm...
- SwissCamel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That's not funny.
- emjaymj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think you're confusing "drug education" with "anti-drug propaganda". If anything, a teacher that uses would have a better idea of the real issues with drugs. Not saying she was right to use it in class, but she'd be more qualified than a teacher who has just been fed a bunch of ***** to repeat to the students.
- dagooh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3half nelson?
- joe0891, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Haha, yeah, everyone has been talking about it so much. I'm surprised it drew that much attention though! You would think this would happen in Buffalo or Niagara Falls city schools instead of Lewiston.
- qwertydvorak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i saw an ad for a job in the paper one time, it said "We test brains, not bodily fluids." i wish i had called and told that employer how much i respected them. it is always the bottom line workers that get tested, never executives or in this case teachers. they probably drug test the janitors and maintenance workers at that school though.
