- whatthefu, on 11/19/2007, -0/+18Whatever happened to Myanmar?
- Mechanized, on 11/19/2007, -2/+14Americans gave millions and millions to the united way, red cross, and other organizations - over the illusion that it was going to help victims of 9/11 -
That obviously did not happen. Why would I donate anything to charitable organizations that lie about who they are helping and have no accountability? - diggstown, on 11/19/2007, -2/+11I can think of quite a few causes that would get my support first. Call it cold if you like, but it's a big world.
- audioslavery, on 11/19/2007, -1/+715,000? What the *****, they just announced it was at about 3,300 today
- dartmanx, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5ESPECIALLY when we give them money.
- jasg, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5yes he is, cause the more modernized a country is the less their people suffer from natural calamities.
i mean look at USA, its a modernized country right ? and hurricane Katrina, which is a natural disaster right ?.... Arrgh DAMN IT !! - URnotheonly1, on 11/19/2007, -7/+12Gave at the last disaster in Asia. Modernize your ***** countries! 15000 dead from a cat 4 storm, 250000 from tsunami, ridiculous! it is 2007 no excuse.
- DarkPrince11, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Being Bengali myself, I agree with you. The area is very densely populated and it suffers from constant natural disasters. And it is also true that the people there have not done much about it. But what can they do? More than half the Bengali population is illiterate and live on less than a dollar a day. They can't just suddenly start building complex sewage systems and an emergency relief fund. Hell, they can't even get their government together.
- leetleo, on 11/19/2007, -2/+6Flavor of the week.
- redmonkey, on 11/19/2007, -6/+10USA populations collected and donated more then 1 billion dollars to tsunami countries. In return, they continue to hate USA, to blame USA for everything. Some money got in hand of terrorists organizations. I donated $100 last time, but I will pas this time
- URnotheonly1, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3No not really, it all goes to the value and quality of life a nation seeks.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+5On the spot!
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3No he won't! Haven't you heard? Our rights are gone and Bush will suspend the Constitution and take over!
- Farticus, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3No I will not help in the long run, it would only prolong their suffering, unless you are suggesting relocation the entire population to some place that is more than a few meters above sea level. Anything less than that is futile and ethically myopic.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+4Will Kanye West make a PSA?
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Let india help them
- anarchyinthekr, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2you're right, i may not be able to be there
- saigumi, on 11/19/2007, -5/+7Nah... I'll let Iran, Venezuela & China handle donating to this one. They seem to be crawled up that ass of "wanting to help the world" while throttling the throat of the US because we do. Too bad all they will get passed to help is some condemnation of Isreal.
- slantyeyed, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3What happened to victims of Katrina?
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+4B'desis are the worst kind of people. First they take all the help they want and then come and fight against you. Look at what they did to Indians.
Don't give them any money. Let them rot and die.
I hope god sends them couple of dozen more cyclones. - slantyeyed, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I'd rather give money for issues at home in the US like homelessness, cancer, etc.
- MrSteamTank, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. If a catastrophe happens anywhere else the deaths are in the hundreds but if it happens in Bangladesh the deaths are much higher due to the excessive population. I really feel sorry for their situation but when 150 million people are packed into an area the size of the state of New York these things will happen. Especially if the area is prone to hurricanes and floods.
- slantyeyed, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3I don't think Bush even knows where Bangladesh is, much less hate the people. And by the time money gets to these people, Bush will be out of office.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+4But it's Americas fault anyway. That's the way the World thinks....except when we give em money...
- jasg, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1yeah, i thought it was 3k too..but the facts is that the entire country is built on a very big flood zone !
- URnotheonly1, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Katrina was not 15000 dead.
- greenehawke, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1As I read through the comments from when this was first posted, I feel compelled to put it up in front of us again. We are not alone in this world. To care for one catastrophe or natural disaster does not imply the lack of care for another. We had horrendous destruction in the US in Arkansas, Alabama, Tenn etc from last week's tornadoes. But that does not mean we stop caring about others or acting from compassion rather than hatred. Be nice .... be good to each other... Now go out and play kids... the undercurrent here seems to say... yeah sure kids... go play on the railroad tracks... then we don't have to feed you tonight.
Puhleeze. Lets have a wake up call and quit hating and spewing trash about. - baron, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2International Herald Tribune has the current death count at 3,100...
where the hell do you get 15,000? Other than just make it up to sensationalize the news like every other organization. - DocHoliday22, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1EX-Bangladeshi?? If you're born in Bangladesh then that makes you a Fish forever.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+3Waiting for the inevitable post about how if the US wasn't in Iraq The US could give more money...Who will the poster be???
- cphelps, on 11/19/2007, -2/+3So are we starting a "War on Cyclones" and developing the "Department of Cyclone Security" since 15k people died?
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+31500 hundred quatloos to the person who names it!
- slantyeyed, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Nope, he only cares about black people and hates white people (but loves them when they buy his CD's). Asians aren't high enough on the food chain for hip hop.
- rizla420, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Our money will be soon worthless, I guess they can use it for fuel to cook with.
- slantyeyed, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1so how much did YOU donate?
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Who me?......A prayer to my Burger King God and hope that Bangladesh can control it's population and that Chavez and Iran will help out with the biggest Donation that ever was!
- inactive, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1I'm an ex-bangladeshi and take my word for it: ***** them all and kill their government first thing in the morning. The more money you send them, the more they hate you. The whole country is full of illiterate and rugheaded hardcore and radical muslim extremists. I lived there for 20 years (I was born there) but I had to literally flee to save myself from their wraths and anger. Let them burn and and drown to death. I'm dead serious. I'm not lying out of my ass. I would rather commit suicide than going back to that *****. This article is buried and the submitter is a pussy-whipped bitch
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Let India take care of them since their doing so well
- davidrools, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1$50/mo to IJM, $25/mo to world vision, $200+/mo to my local church and community organizations....and more when needed for disaster relief, or when people are in need (lost job, medical bills, etc.). Needless to say I don't take the standard deduction on my taxes. giving frees you from being owned by your money and things. it ain't easy, but it gets easier when you see the good that comes of it.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -4/+4Sorry...We need to take care of our own. China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela and Europe can dole out the cash...theirs is worth more...Remember...the States are in decline, we have no rights, our people are fat and lazy, 9/11 was caused by our own government and we aren't worth much because we are heartless, racist war mongers that kill foreign babies and innocent people .... and we've been told that over and over and over again. No thank you. *closes door*
- OMGIAMTHEMAN, on 11/19/2007, -2/+2http://www.irw.org/
100% legit and very efficient - they have a 4 star rating from charity navigator. 98.2% efficient fundraising last I checked. That means 98 cents out of every dollar you give goes to that cause. much better than most charities you'll see out there. - OrganicMission, on 11/23/2007, -0/+0Wish more people were like you, the world would be a better place. God bless!
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1Who me?......A prayer to my Burger King God and hope that Bangladesh can control it's population and that Chavez and Iran will help out with the biggest Donation that ever was!
- Pegritz, on 11/20/2007, -3/+2***** Bangladesh. There are still people in the United States--a supposed "First World" nation--who have yet to be properly resettled after Hurricane Katrina. When we can take care of our own people and actually have a little extra to lend to others, *then* we can consider helping out the rest of the world.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+1No it's "War on America Because It's Their Fault" and "All of our Disasters Come From America Security"
- atozand1to10, on 11/19/2007, -7/+6Are you ***** serious?!
- arunforce, on 11/19/2007, -3/+2That's so ignorant it's not even fair. Asia is MUCH MUCH more crowded (especially Bangladesh with 100m+ people in a TINY plot of land) and if you think trying to drive in downtown during rush hour is bad, try it with 20x the population density?
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -3/+2It has to be his fault. There's no other explanation.
- Gonz037, on 11/19/2007, -6/+4Someone call George Harrison. Oh wait.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -3/+1I did...47 inch Philips LCD.
