    Apparently this video is real and originated in Afghanistan.

    This is sick behavior. I'm not typically squeamish, but this behavior is disgustingly reckless at best. They're endangering the baby's health even if they don't drop him.

    If it's fake it's very professional quality (which begs the question why such a skilled editor would make such a controversial and ridiculous video). If It's real that baby is going to join the cirque de soliel if his father doesn't tear his arms off.

    They believe it strengthens the childs balance, orientation and such - if I remember correctly. Remember a whole bunch of mothers swinging their children in the air on a beach.
    Pretty weird. But it seems that the children don't suffer any damage from it.

    The sight still creeps me out though.
