- novalux, on 10/10/2007, -19/+102Actual conversation from the event:
"I think he's performing to highlight metaphorically how this administration has hung itself in the eyes of America."
"I believe it's a statement towards Darfur."
"I THINK THE MOTHER ***** IS DYING!" - satx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+68Wow... quite a year at Burning Man.
- Nocturnal, on 10/10/2007, -1/+53Everyone there was probably high as *****.
- hobbers, on 10/10/2007, -1/+50lol @ the guy who gets charged with arson for trying to set something on fire before it's supposed to be set on fire.
- Nin10dude, on 10/10/2007, -3/+46How did nobody see a man hanging himself, and think "Hmm, he must be dying!"?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -18/+60Good. The gene pool just got a little better. Addition by subtraction.
- rnwen2750, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34I think he's referring to the fact that it took 2 hours for anyone to get off their ass and do anything.
- youdlike2know, on 10/10/2007, -7/+40cocaine's a hell of a drug
- ZenFountain, on 10/10/2007, -4/+34Initial reaction was that's ***** up, but then I kinda laughed because burning man is a gathering of commercialized hippies.
- zephc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30Maybe they can get the Hell's Angels to run security next year.
- humperdeath, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24Next year, at Hanging Man, someone will light themselves on fire, and the crowd will watch for 2 hrs before figuring it's not a stunt.
- sputnike, on 10/10/2007, -7/+26Emo's take note...
- Kratisto, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16And for my grand finale...
- Phendrana, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16To celebrate art and freedom of expression. Also, to do copious amounts of hallucinogenic drugs.
- jimsf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16Everyone keeps wondering why he wasn't taken down sooner. If naked it would explain why it took so long. Burning Man equals a lot of bad naked.
Bummer for his friends and family. - TRUEPATRIOT, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15fun=liberal thats how he knows, dexter.remember if its racism and anti gay=conservative.
generalizations ftw. - Nivardus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Arson, suicide, yuck. Definitely not good news for Burning Man; though not surprising, as the event continues to grow bigger and bigger.
I don't believe the spirit of the festival will be effected despite all this. - Smight, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12You don't get the Darwin Award for intentionally killing yourself exactly how you planned.
This just deprives society of someone who could actually set a goal and achieve it, not someone who thought it would be a good idea to trim their toe nails with a chainsaw/blowtorch they duct taped together. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14I thought you relieved yourself when you died? Did people just danced under it?
- crushfan, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15BALLS OF STEEL.
- Swanston, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Novalux I don't know why people are burying you, I seriously laughed out loud when I read your comment.
- shadowspawn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11i hate what it turned into. nothing but a bunch of rich hippies who wouldn't know a real rave if it came out of the desert and slapped them in the ass.
went to the 2nd woodstock and the 4th burning man... so here's a comparison.
think of going to the biggest, most massive keg party from "animal house"... vs going to starbucks, wading through all of the SUV's, H3's to get into the front door... where everyone is wired on chilled tripple cappuccinos and talking about what a great wifi signal they get. - Beatmiser, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Wouldn't have happened if Cartman could have been called in.

Try to control the Hippie Drill and get to the center of a crowd of hippies -- but beware, hit too many hippies and the drill will overheat! ... - Billiam627, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10FTA "A man was found hanging inside a two-story-high tent this morning,"
WTF is a two story tent, and how does it work? - Nocturnal, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10What is the entire point of Burning Man? Just to congregate in the desert?
- dext3r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10How do you know if he was a liberal?
- gropo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8No, it doesn't.
You, however get an honorary membership to the society for being so ignorant that likely someday you might just win one. - CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9You're assuming he hasn't reproduced. Probably a good assumption all things considered.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7What a *****.
Kids, please remember that suicide, like taking a crap, is a thing best not done in public for no apparent reason. - MattS, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Although not an award winner, he technically qualifies for the Darwin Award.
- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11oh wow. you're so profound.
- f0dder, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5.. on their iPhone or Macbooks.
- JustFender, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6probably more to do with the fact that at an art event, where extremely weird art takes place its quite easy to think something like this would be some kind of weird art instead of them all being "dirt bag derlick hippies" too stoned and busy having sex with satan to notice
- Chickenlip, on 10/10/2007, -7/+11The comment was funny until I read your attribution ...
- rnwen2750, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Beats not having one.
- wootup, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Right, he was brought into this world and raised by other people (his parents), forced to be educated for at least 12 or 13 years in a state-run school system before he was old enough to even begin knowing who he was or what he wanted, yet this man, according to you, killed himself because "he CHOOSE" [sic] to. The myth of "free will" is possibly the most exaggerated tenet of Western philosophy, and if you don't believe me, I suggest pursuing an education in Psychology. Our formative years, surroundings and education impact us far more than we would like to admit. And secondly, you don't know the man who committed suicide, you don't know his life story, and you don't know what his medical or emotional states may have been, so you are not entitled to make a sweeping conclusion like that anyways.
As for all of you brownshirts celebrating the death of a human being because it's "cleaning up the gene pool," excuse me while I beg to differ. - dainfagerholm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Burning Man has officially JUMPED THE SHARK for the fifth year in a row.
- sych0, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I told u I was hardcore
- Pilot85, on 10/10/2007, -14/+18When other people start deciding who's genes need to be around and who's would be better off "out of the gene pool" you get genocide. So shut the ***** up, please. Also, you are saying a person with emotional problems, maybe not even of his doing, does not deserve to live a full and happy life? You really are a bastard.
- Terr01, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4" I can only hope less conservatives would "express" themselves like Timothy McVeigh. "
- juicebag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I'M GONNA BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF AND ***** DOWN YOUR NECK.
- Maddoktor2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Cremation could be a very convenient option in this case.
- sinistermofo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4My Burning Man Haiku:
Burning Man Is Here
Hippies Hanging From Big Tents
Momma Would Be Proud - IllBeBack, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Whoa. That totally harshed my mellow, man...
- KY396, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This reminds me a bit of a Demetri Martin joke: "I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades..."
- Monk22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3they could have you know, noticed there was a guy killing himself. but thats just me i guess.
- kingvik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3WTF, it shows that you made your comment an hour ago, but the reply's were made two hours ago.
- LordVance, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If you cannot figure out that his post is poking fun at the mindless supporters of RP then you sir are a moron.
- coodies4ever, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6yeah, just like that liberal that shot up virginia tech
/rush limbaugh - Nocturnal, on 10/10/2007, -6/+8Nobody decided he needed to be put to death. He CHOOSE that way out himself. Nobody forced him to kill himself, that was ALL on him.
