- bightchee, on 10/10/2007, -4/+133When I moved to New York I started carrying a Sharpie in my pocket for the sole reason of correcting grammar and punctuation in subway graffiti.
- dimmerswitch, on 10/10/2007, -2/+95Could you capitalize "new york" and add a period at the end my description with that sharpie please? :-)
- cindylauper, on 10/10/2007, -1/+88They're part of NY's many underground anal retentive graffiti gangs
- WarPirate, on 10/10/2007, -4/+78Did anyone else think someone had broke into a subway and left messages on the wall with spray paint on the proper technique for tessellating cheese triangles?
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/10/2007, -2/+48I saw this graffiti on an iPod ad earlier this year waiting for the F train: http://www.flickr.com/photos/timmygunz/391620655/
- dorianh49, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40To protect themselves, the police in that area have to wear kevlar pocket protectors at all times.
- Neiby, on 10/10/2007, -2/+29Until now, I had an entirely different definition of softbox.
- chris8535, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24The sad thing is, as a professional photographer, I have peers who would actually do/say something like that and not be sarcastic.
Kinda like the IT guys you diggers prolly know who constantly "correct" technical information you are trying to share by simply restating what you said with more jargon. - Xinareiaz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20Was I the only one expecting to see sandwich carnage and a note about how to place cheese?
- RobotChicken1, on 03/07/2008, -1/+18Are you new here?
- Unlgued, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17...and yet, being a tool is completely legal. Where is the justice in that?
- SuperJimmyJimbo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15why is that sad? If you can't take creative criticism, you shouldn't be taking pictures.
- chronichyjinx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Now I do too.
- demizer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11http://www.flickr.com/photos/i-capture/16136112/
I wish i had a shirt of this. - CaveDog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Yo, that's my tag. Don't disrespect!
- rspeed, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Sweet Jesus I love New York.
- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6yet having ads plastered everywhere is ok. graffiti is at worst unsponsored ads, at best art.
- lazyslacker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6ohhh SOFTbox. I'm an idiot.
- shethinkmefunny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You can see the reflection of the softbox (the apparatus placed over lights to help ensure even lighting) in the gentleman's spectacles. Typically, that would qualify as a poor quality shot, and thus should be re-shot.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If you mean Tim Gunn, then yes...and there's no relation.
- akimbo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Grammar Graffiti?
- ItsMyWii, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7I did it.
- driftwood07, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3hehe thats what i was expecting.
- oldphotonut, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3A softbox is used to soften lighting in a picture so you don't have harsh lighting. . .
Check out a photography website for more info. . . . - czimmerman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Uh...what?
- ericberglund, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Exactly what I was expecting ha
- mp3dog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Somebody used graffitti to criticize the photographer's work... Mainly, that the picture in the ad should have never been selected for publication because a reflection of the (softbox) light is visible in the man's glasses. A good photographer would consider that picture to be flawed, therefore warranting a re-shoot.
- KidKenosha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah, it's a valid criticism of the portrait. The visible diffuser removes quality. If you're a professional photographer, I would have thought that some level of professional pride would make you WANT to fix obvious mistakes like this. As an amateur, I sure as hell would.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3No, I've never heard of that either. Now back to the topic of the vandals writing "softbox" on the poster...
- lazyslacker, on 10/10/2007, -7/+9Am I the only person who doesn't know what a "Siftbox" is?
- AROZ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I love lamp.
- SparkKnot, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1i agree
- Hoogs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Uhh...I don't get it...? Could someone be kind enough to explain?
- Hoogs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1oook, thanks guys.
- crapmatic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3This is so much better than the dumbass graffiti that looks like QKWZFWTK in diagonal zigzig letters.
- dhuck, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2i enjoy this one a little better

- Calcularius, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Bansky is boring derivative regurgitated garbage.
- scykon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1That is supposed to say "softbox"? Looks more like siftbor to me.
- Abestar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Yes.
- cayennext, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I don't speak english as my first language so I don't understand. Could someone explain it?
- davidrools, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2I thought it was going to say something like "watch your step" at the edge of a staircase.
- CosmicJustice, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Nope! Been ta the big city, n' seen them tubes in the ground afore. Knowed just whut they was a talkin about.
- JamesWilson, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Saw this one in LaCrosse, WI
http://picasaweb.google.com/osirisx11/EveningInLaCrosse/photo#4949256032902184978 - novask, on 10/10/2007, -6/+4For some reason I thought this article was talking about the Fast Food Restaurant Subway. And by "helpful notes" I was thinking about how they place the cheese on the subs. Suffice to say, I am disappointed.
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1LOL, captain obvious
- KevenM, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1That reminds me. Did your in-laws ever invite you back over for dinner?
- Kyle0wnsyou, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3This image has been optimized by NYU's anal-retentive student body.
- Dralite, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2Is that the gay guy off of that show on Bravo?
- viewtiful4ever, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1that ***** was wack. completely not interesting nor funny. "oooh lmao its an iPod ad with some grafitti showing me how to reset my ipod! omg geniiiiiius! DUGG!!!"
