- MicrosoftBob, on 11/27/2007, -1/+124FTA: "Investigators believe the victim was dragged at least 12 miles."
I need to quit reading this depressing ***** on digg....
Happy Holidays! - djetaine, on 11/27/2007, -3/+64Yes, he did threaten the others with an ax while drunk. He deserved a good dose of sense and an ass beating, not death.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -8/+65Guess that ***** should not have threatened a bunch of other ***** with an axe.
And, yes, the victim was an *****. Try reading up on his past exploits.
As far as I am concerned the victim in this case is the kid in the truck who didn't know he was dragging the guy, but just thought he was running away. - Antha, on 11/27/2007, -4/+49Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
People make me sick. - djetaine, on 11/27/2007, -1/+36My response to 75% of all the people commenting on this:
"RTFA or do some research before you start posting"
It was NOT a frat initiation, the motive was that he had an axe. He was tied behind a truck by a 45 year old man and dragged to death by a 17 year old that did NOT know he was there. The man told him to drive away without mentioning that he had tied him to the back. - sockpuppets, on 11/27/2007, -9/+32Just hear those slay bells jinglin', ring ting tinglin' to
- krets, on 11/27/2007, -1/+23I speculate that someone involved with this story is full of *****.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+22They failed to mention this part:
"Sturman-Camyn was among eight people, some of whom were drinking heavily, at the Newman Lake man's hunting campsite, according to sheriff's deputies. Sturman-Camyn became angry and threatened others, saying he would come after them with an ax, witnesses told the deputies.
The 45-year-old man, who expressed fear for his safety, told a 17-year-old boy to get into the pickup "start it and be ready to leave if things got bad," Sheriff's Sgt. Alan Botzheim said in a news release."
Both are at fault, but, if a guy is coming at you with an axe... What can you do? The 17 year old should have knew better, I mean, how do you not know whats going on? - leighj, on 11/27/2007, -3/+24You get a gold star for research! Thanks for the extra info...
- iViper, on 11/27/2007, -2/+21It's a sad world
Rest In Peace - blinktude, on 11/27/2007, -9/+28don't drag me bro
- nomadxx7, on 11/27/2007, -0/+15Here is a little more insight found off google:
NEWPORT, Wash. (Map, News) - Bail was set Monday at $100,000 for a Newman Lake man arrested in the death of an Eastern Washington University student who was dragged by the neck nearly 13 miles behind a pickup truck.
Wendell Sinn Jr., 45, was held for investigation of second-degree murder in the Saturday night dragging death of Jerid Sturman-Camyn, 20, along a rural Pend Oreille County road following a confrontation at a hunting camp.
Sinn made a preliminary appearance in Pend Oreille County Superior Court, where a judge ordered him held on $100,000 bail.
An autopsy Monday showed that Sturman-Camyn, a martial arts expert, died of strangulation, authorities said.
The rope was tied around Sturman-Camyn's neck, Deputy Prosecutor Tony Koures said.
The 17-year-old truck driver, identified only as Sinn's son, told deputies he was unaware anyone had been tied to the truck when he drove away in fear to avoid a confrontation.
According to the Pend Oreille County sheriff's office, the victim had become angry, armed himself with an ax and threatened several people during a drinking party at Sinn's campsite on the east bank of the Pend Oreille River.
Sinn told investigators he was afraid for his safety and for those at the campsite, and during the altercation with Sturman-Camyn told his son to start his pickup truck and "be ready to leave if things got bad."
There were at least eight people at the campsite at the time, investigators said.
While the boy was waiting in the truck, Sinn attached a rope to the truck's trailer hitch and then around Sturman-Camyn's neck, and yelled for the teen to drive, Koures said.
At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the teen called authorities and said he believed someone was chasing him down the road with an ax.
At the same time, another person called to report that a pickup truck was driving down the road dragging a body.

- NeverOffside, on 11/27/2007, -2/+17What's the reason that this story, which is about someone being murdered, warrants so many cheap jokes?
- gordonm, on 11/27/2007, -2/+15Well if someone comes at me with an ax, you can bet the first thing I'm gonna do is look for a pickup truck to tie him to.
Shooting him would have made for a more plausible claim of self-defense. - guabancex, on 11/27/2007, -1/+14Someone's been watching way too many Hollywood action flicks.
- krets, on 11/27/2007, -3/+16Someone was chasing him with an axe? For 13 miles? I think even Jason Voorhees would get bored after 6 or 7.
- robbh66, on 11/27/2007, -1/+13"After a closer read of the article"
Translation: "After I actually read the ***** article I realize what an idiot I was for posting based on the blurb alone." - thewayner, on 11/27/2007, -1/+13Doesn't look like it had anything to do with a fraternity.

you must be new here. - WRXFiles, on 11/27/2007, -7/+16You both should grow up
- diggerydood, on 11/27/2007, -1/+10I find it hard to believe the driver didn't know he was dragging someone.
- sockpuppets, on 11/27/2007, -6/+15Yeah, I mean I can totally understand 10 miles. 11 is pushing it, but 12? What, does this guy work for a bakery or something?
- jserio, on 11/27/2007, -1/+9Sad story. Somehow National Lampoon's Vacation comes to mind. Clark didn't know either.
- sockpuppets, on 11/27/2007, -4/+12Sounds like you both just got back from 2 girls 1 cup.
- RedHerringHack, on 11/27/2007, -1/+9Then, it would be a hate crime.
- feshmania, on 11/27/2007, -2/+10i can see how the RIAA and sex all apply here
- scott2007, on 11/27/2007, -2/+10Nerds gone wild.
- feshmania, on 11/27/2007, -3/+10this wasn't a frat initiation
- djetaine, on 11/27/2007, -0/+7Right, because somehow the karmic circle comes back on a guy who never had anything to do with the dragging of African Americans. You are a fool
- hfactor, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6Could I block him twice? Or could I ban him from the real world please?
- MerryMortician, on 11/27/2007, -1/+7little fella kept up for the first mile or so.
- EricAnderton, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6Um, when the pavement is moving beneath you it works an awful lot like a belt sander on contact - any biker can tell you that.
Even if his hands were unbound (don't know for sure - I didn't read), he'd have to drag some part of his anatomy on the road, for the entire length of the rope, before getting to the bed of that truck. Now imagine that it's a gravel road, instead of a nicely paved one.
Somehow, I don't think this kid had a chance in hell of getting through this alive - sober or not. - robbh66, on 11/27/2007, -1/+7and you know this is possible from your own previous experience?
- 15thPD, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6I smell *****.
- murf43143, on 11/27/2007, -8/+14Wow you are a piece of ***** CondoleezzaRice. I guess the name says it all though,
- Damian91, on 11/27/2007, -3/+912 miles?! Have people no shame in this God damn world today!?
- catalysis, on 11/27/2007, -2/+8How does a tiny guy like that subdue a MMA fighter by himself and tie him to a truck? How does the kid not know he is dragging a 200lb body behind the truck? The whole story is total *****. I can't believe they are reporting the killer's side of the story like it is the unadulterated truth.
- Carburetor, on 11/27/2007, -31/+37I hope the killer will get executed.
R.I.P - gnick, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6Well, his mom's name was Mrs. Voorhees. Check out the first movie - Jason was basically just a plot point.
- heartcoldfusion, on 11/27/2007, -6/+11Don't feed the trolls.
- Antha, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5Must resist urge to google. You'd think tubgirl would have taught me my lesson.
- threemagic, on 11/27/2007, -2/+7What does this article have to do with getting into a fraternity?
Just because a fraternity wouldn't take you doesn't mean they are bad. - 4eloBek, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6maybe he was listening to Pavarotti?
- RedHairedMan, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6At least this wasn't because he was gay?
*reaching for any silver lining* - PaperMonkey, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6"Wendell Sinn Jr., 45, was held for investigation of second-degree murder in the Saturday night dragging death of Jerid Sturman-Camyn..."
Jerid Sturman-Camyn.. not Chuck Norris. I would hazard to guess that most people would be incapable of pulling themselves anywhere while being dragged by their neck from the back of a truck.. - hammerpants, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5Seriously, why comment if you don't know anything about the post?
- pcghost, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6Eastern is my university and you really don't know the school if you think that. EWU is one of the better behaved student body's in the area. Hell WSU students were rolling flaming dumpsters down hill at police lines in Pullman during their riots over campus drinking policies a few years back. For reference, this horrific event took place over 100 miles from campus and had absolutely nothing to do with the university.
