- michaelstokes, on 10/10/2007, -67/+261Sometimes you just have to fight back no matter what the odds. I find the little fella to be inspirational.
- uberneoconcert, on 10/10/2007, -44/+202i don't think he's "fighting back," i think he's taking out misplaced aggression
- tony4moroney, on 10/10/2007, -48/+183I think he's been reading too much fictional stories.
"david totally killed goliath with a rock.. ive got this.." - ayeroxor, on 10/10/2007, -32/+159He's the next generation of mindless drones that will be carrying out an endless war and thinking it's an honor to be shot at a young age. It's pretty ***** depressing.
- OneHine, on 10/10/2007, -16/+119So let me get this straight: if a fundamentalist Christian declares that any 'holy book' other than the Bible is a lie from Satan, that's perfectly acceptable. But if someone says that the Biblical myths did not in fact happen, that's bigotry?
I suspect you have a persecution complex. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+85this is not in iraq, this is a Palestinian boy and Israeli tank
- ncairns, on 10/10/2007, -67/+147"The Bible is not fiction."
Yes. It is. - frieddonuts, on 10/10/2007, -8/+71Digg is definitely not the site for you. I'm a Christian too, but come on, do you really expect to have that comment dugg up?
- wisam, on 10/10/2007, -7/+70This resembles a very famous picture that was ironically named "David and Goliath"
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k46/xinellum/stone1.jpg
Of course, the irony here is because David here is the Palestinian child and Goliath is the Israeli tank - SpaceDreamer, on 10/10/2007, -13/+72The odds are ZERO here.
This is just plain stupid and sad, Please don't make him a hero.
The boy should be at school. He has much to learn, starting with the laws of physics apparently - therealdeal101, on 10/10/2007, -50/+108Nice picture...
Too bad its PHOTOSHOPED! You can tell that they tried to blend it in, but its is too dark around the boy. - vegasbright, on 10/10/2007, -67/+122I am guessing this boy is a Palestinian. He should throw rocks at those who put him in the poor-ass situation instead of doing darwin award-level stupid ***** like this.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -29/+81tell you what, let's invade your country for 60 years and see if you still say the same thing
- gmprunner, on 10/10/2007, -8/+50siszam, please trust me: it is a work of fiction. I spent 4 years studying Christianity and am a Christian myself, and as such I know that the Bible is a fictional work of parables, with morals that teach the Christian way of life. The stories in it are not meant to be taken literally.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -12/+50My favorite Religious story was Alice in Wonderland, great religious text.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+39that's not Iraq
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+37Seconds later, the tank lay in ruins and the surviving occupants fleeing from the carnage.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -10/+45that's what I said about Tienanmen Square. Why can't the Chinese just shut up and be drones for the communist -- wait a second.
- mtrip, on 10/10/2007, -16/+48So the adults in this little kids life think it's a grand idea to send his tiny self to throw rocks at a tank, with the possiblity he might be killed, at which point no doubt they'd put up giant posters of him and like ten of them would lift his limp body and run down the street with it for the cameras and make for a nice little propaganda image. Why aren't his 'handlers' the ones throwing the rocks? He isn't brave, he's brainwashed.
- MrBabyMan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+25Here's the detail page from AFP regarding this picture. If you have proof that this picture is Photoshopped, please provide it.

- MrKrinkleDude, on 10/10/2007, -7/+28Brave? No no, that's ***** stupid!
If a tank is coming in your general direction, get the hell out of the way.
And to the people asking, it's an Israeli tank. And no, it's not a pshop. People routinely do stupid ***** their, like standing in front of tanks and tossing rocks. - TehSwat, on 10/10/2007, -7/+27Why can't we all just put away religious and past differences and get along? We are all 99.97% the same.
- bloqmon, on 10/10/2007, -6/+25The fact that they only want 0.7% of the land is not the problem. It is the means and reasoning which they are using to get that small piece of land. Imagine if you left your house for a couple hundred years and during that time lost virtually all paperwork citing that you owned that house. Do you expect your descendants to return and claim that the land is theirs without anyone questioning them?
Not to mention that at the time the Zionists returned to "the homeland" they had been gone so long that few of them knew how to work the arid desert land well enough to sustain themselves and were forced to learn from the Palestinians. The sad part is, many of the Zionists in the first few waves of Aalliyah rehired the Palestinians to farm the very same land that those Palestinians once called home. This poor boy throwing a rock at that tank had nothing to do with any of that and yet here he is still fighting over it. Hopefully he will see the resolution of this problem within his lifetime, but sadly I'm sure hes already seen a number of his friends and family injured or killed because of this ongoing struggle. - hipnerd, on 10/10/2007, -7/+26While I agree with you in priciple, You're sticking words in his mouth. He never said that declaring other holy books to be "lies from Satan" was acceptable. That's your language, not his.
- Gaki, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18The last true Jewish Kindom was conquered by the Babylonians in the 6th century BC. After that point, they were ruled by Alexander, then the Seleucids, then the Romans, then the Byzantines, then the Caliphate/Crusaders, then the Caliphate by itself and post collapse of that, successive colonial powers, usually Britain. It has been nearly 2700 years since the Jews actually had kingdoms in the area. After the Babylonian invasion, they weren't even the ethnic majority in the area. By Roman times, they were a distint minority.

"Quick kids! What's the only country in the middle east where women can vote?"
actually Women can vote and be elected in Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Palestinian territories, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Morocco, Tunis, Algeria, and yes even in that bastard of a country that we must hate for no reason IRAN. actually the only two countries women cannot vote/run for office in are Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, which happen to be great allies of america. next time do a little research before you look like a typical american idiot who doesn't know ***** about the rest of the world. - Rabbethan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19BUT MY 0.03% IS GOD GIVEN!
- falstaff, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18How exactly is this "unlikely to end well?" The only plausible ending is that the tank rolls by and the kid walks home.
- randomgeek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Regardless, one person believing something and one person not believing something doesn't make either of them bigots. It means two people have different opinions. Which is perfectly natural, and one might say, even healthy.
- Okitaz, on 10/10/2007, -8/+24This is a lone child throwing a rock at a tank, presumably by his own accord, not a helpless kid being forced to suicide bomb a crowded area.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -14/+30yes it is, and a majority of Christians believe so to. Especially the Old Testament.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14And we're 98.6% like chimpanzees.
- TheMonitor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Is he trying to take out Devestator before he transforms?
- felchdonkey, on 10/10/2007, -31/+45Can someone tell me how you justify the hatred of Jews as brave? It sounds like this child is just another victim of the decades of violence the Arabs have celebrated in the Middle East.
How can a few million Jews crammed into a tiny plot of land the size of New Jersey be a threat to 300 million Arabs, who have them surrounded on all sides?
I'm getting sick of hearing the argument that it's all about the joooooos taking land from the poor Palestinians. Arabs have been killing each other and taking each other's land for centuries, and it never inspired the entire Arab world to rise up against one nation en masse.
The only difference I see here is that it's Jews that won the war this time. How is that not hypocritical and racist? - ninzoris, on 10/10/2007, -6/+20I do allot of photo manipulation in photoshop. This looks real to me. But it look like the original had the boy a little to dark so he used what looks like localized curvers adjustment or unsharp mask. Thats why you get the dark halo around the boy directly where the tank is behind him.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+21thank you
- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/10/2007, -17/+31Classifying religious text as Fiction or Non Fiction is just a great way for you to get in trouble from at least one side of the argument. Best to just call them religious stories rather then fictional stories.
- MuffinPatrol, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16don't bring your facts here.
- BigJ27, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17Sadly, this is an everyday thing. This picture is of a Palestinian kid in front of an Israeli army tank by the way.
- McGrude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14You are right, assuming you ignore that the tank was most likely paid for by US tax payers.
- seanc6610, on 10/10/2007, -7/+20Photoshop? I think not. The only enhancement I see is that the entire pic was brightened from the original.

DAHEISHEH:A Palestinian child throws a stone at an Israeli tank on a road at the Palestinian Daheisheh refugee camp on the outskirts of West Bank town of Bethlehem 02 July 2002. Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres told delegates at the Labor party convention in Tel Aviv, that he doubted that the planned Palestinian elections can take place while the Israeli army remains in the territories. 'I am not sure the Palestinians can have elections while the army is in the territories and I don't see the army coming out of the territories if there is still terror.' The Israeli army entered the self-rule West Bank territories over a week ago in Operation Determined Path. AFP PHOTO/Musa AL-SHAER (Photo credit should read MUSA AL-SHAER/AFP/Getty Images)" - sinjab, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12He has not been reading fictional stories. Israelis have stolen his land and make him live under siege inside what is left of his land. He is just fighting back, would not you?
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17And what would YOU have done in his place--being the brilliant child you no doubt were -- get out your missiles? Who's going to win the Darwin award here?
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -9/+21***** you. The sun stopped in the sky, that's all the science I need.
- CheapDigWannbe, on 10/10/2007, -12/+23"bad its PHOTOSHOPED! You can tell that they tried to blend it in, but its is too dark around the boy."
Are you ***** kidding me? Have you even taken a digital photo and opened it in Photoshop? ***** shut up about things you don't have a clue about... kthanx - Gaki, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Wow. A sane post.
Nothing pisses me off more than people who set up an unfair fight to begin with (you get rocks, we get M-16s) and then get offended and cry foul when said victims find OTHER ways to fight instead of the straight up fight that will get them killed.
Besides, those horrible activities like suicide bombings (and I agree they are horrible) don't even work all that well. The Israelis kill almost 20 Palestinians for every Israeli killed in the conflict. - evil-doer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11theres dark spots on the tank. if you look again theres more to the right of that as well. nowhere near the boy.

Roman records corroborate Caiphas, Pilate and King Herod (Roman stooge), amoong others but not their connection to Jesus. One of the only independent verifications that Jesus actuallly lived was Josephus' tract Antiquities of the Jews, which contains a passage that virtually all historians consider to be interpolated after the fact by another author. That such revisionism happened to JEWISH documents implies that openly Christian documents suffered the same fate, which leads historians to heavily question the accuracy of the Bible as a historical document. -
