- 570 diggs
- digg it
- tsarfan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6sweeeeet
- ardenr, on 10/12/2007, -35/+10Eloquently put... Well worth a digg for the Suicide Bombers piece alone, but it's a shame some of the commenters on the page wouldn't know art if it stapled them to a canvas.
- candiru, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17wow ardenr you must be a really sophisticated art connoisseur who's too good for the rest of us.
- SundayTrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I guess I took "Explosion" too literal..
Beautiful Artwork! - Calypsoaf, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3While the art was indeed beautiful, I felt many pieces were far to tied into todays politics than nesscary. What happened to creating art that was just art, someing beautiful to look at and enjoy? Why must everything carry some sort of underlying message today?
- ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10"Eloquently put... Well worth a digg for the Suicide Bombers piece alone, but it's a shame some of the commenters on the page wouldn't know art if it stapled them to a canvas."
how about you take your elitist ass out of here? newsflash, you're not special, just because you think you're more into art than the rest of us doesn't make it true. - Persol2point0, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Ahhh... but he is 'special'.
- carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1because art is an expression of what you're thinking. much of the classical art has to do with religeous subjects because it had a heavy influence on the time. these artists had thoughts about what many people currently are thinking about, the quagmire of how to best manage the situation in the middle east which holds the lives of many people on the line, along with the economies of much of the world through it's hold of oil.
- seibed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7to those bashing and digging down ardenr, did you even read the comments on the linked page? "Wow, what ugly *****", "Oh wow. A naked Statue of Liberty getting banged in the ass by a cross.", and a few more, all of which would have easily been dugg down if they were here.

Quite the contrary. I feel majority of today's art is not political enough.
We are living in some incredible times which may define the future which lays ahead of us. Now is not the time to bury our heads in the ground, as many people would much rather do. Now is the time to express your inner thoughts & feelings. - WiskyDrinker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4When ardenr said "but it's a shame some of the commenters on the page wouldn't know art if it stapled them to a canvas." He was referring to the commenters on the actual linked page, not on digg. No reason to bury his comment and bash him!!
- ardenr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In case aynone is still reading this, yeah I meant the linked page... Way to use your brains and figure out that I was actually the second commenter on this article. I was referring to exactly the type of comments seibad mentions, but don't let any of these facts stop the bashing. Have some more fun.
- tienmao, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3i can't wait to check the finished interior in person. i got to see a little bit last weekend, but it looks like they've added a lot more.
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Nice drawing, the dollar one looks very real and a lot of detail.
- Knoton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I REALLY hope that that was sarcastic.
- royall64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4There's this new thing out that can help you with that. It's a new craze and everybody's doing it, so don't be afraid. It isn't bad like smoking or anything. It's called "school."
- Knoton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I REALLY hope that that was sarcastic.
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Some of it was incredible, while one piece just didn't belong, the one that said voice of the ghetto and had the blue girl in there, it just looked very out of it's league there...
- cazoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2yes i agree that aesthetically it didn't really fit, but it seemed to be a tribute to skateboarder harold hunter (zoo york) who passed away early this year.
- chubbymidget, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Anyone else read that as StreetCar explosion?
Some amazing, interesting, and disturbing works- RTPMatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no, more like Street tart...i thought it was going to be far more interesting
- RTPMatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no, more like Street tart...i thought it was going to be far more interesting
- Domza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I read that as Street Explosion, reflex action though.
- stublag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2thats pretty awesome :)
- bdickason, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The question is, where are the huge-res pics? We're viewing pieces that most likely span more than fifteen feet in width and they're confined to 640px width.
- cazoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejake/
- netferret, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1looks like a photoshop job to me :)
- Xorsist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1whats with the babies on leashes?
- conradpaul, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3this is awesome. i would love to see some 12oz prophet business on the front page.
- streetlightpoet, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1nice pics, but if it's really all the big names, where's Banksy?
- Shinta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If it has all the big names, why doesn't it have CharlieM's work there? His name is really big on the side of the bridge across the street.
- brutalwit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I've been a fan of Shepard Fairey for a while, but the WK and Lister stuff has compelled me to google for more of their work.
- lemaymd, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I hope this isn't displayed in a prominent place, because some of those pieces are likely to give nightmares to kids! I know that they would have freaked me out fifteen years ago.
- daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why would it have bothered you when you were one year old?
- danmanx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Street Art or Street Tarts?
There's a big difference there. - hiPpymIck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2nice pictchas
- CosmoP, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Religion of Peace at work again. Another example of glorifying suicide bombers. Why not just blow up a bus in NYC...is that art?
- abbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you're not getting the piece & name. bombing is a term used by graffiti artists since the 70s that means going out and covering something with your tags, pieces etc. "let's go out bombing tonight", "i'm gonna bomb the side of that train". the guy in the picture is wearing a vest of spray cans and there is a jumble of colors everywhere in front of him. it's symbolism & reference to current culture. that's what art is.
- kazisdaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1website can't handle the digg effect
- geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That was cool and well done, and each pieces makes you think. I like art like that. Controversial, probably, but if art didn't push the limits of acceptance and never offended anyone then this world would be one boring place.
- Moment, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yeah it's amazing. And I'm actually working there ;)
- awfulgrace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just tried to go see it, but the line is well around the block... hopefully it'll be open for a while, so I can catch it on a calmer day
