There's no way that large format print was produced from a 500 pixel wide Facebook rip. If you read her post she says a professional photographer "friend" took the image. The friend most likely sold it to a microstock agency which is where the design agency for the Czech supermarket chain bought it and is now denying it.
With tens of thousands of decent quality high resolution images taken on pro/semi-pro equipment available for a few dollars each on microstock sites, there's no way any designer would troll blogs to find a usable random photo of a family among point&shoot and low rez photos. - inactive, on 06/06/2009, -6/+279Dugg for probable truth

Honestly, there's very little you can do about it. It's unfortunate, but the best thing is to just consider it a sort of flattery.
- whirlingderv, on 06/06/2009, -2/+35thats not true about facebook owning your stuff. there was one TOS revision that seemed unclear in that respect, so they changed it again to clearly state that they aren't claiming ownership of your stuff, just that they have rights to it insofar as posting it for you on the facebook site. (it means you've just given them permission to put it on your facebook page until you revoke that permission by deleting the photo from the site.) At most, they may be allowed to use your picture in their own promotional work for the facebook site (which they don't), but they certainly can't grant license to others for the use of your photos.

When the RIAA goes after people with their "downloading is stealing" spiel everyone jumps up and down screaming "It's not stealing!".
So why change your tune when it becomes one persons digital media instead of a corporations?
The copyright of the image was infringed. It was not stolen.
