Stilt-walker completes 830 miles across Michigan

news.yahoo.com — United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan reports that Neil Sauter ended his eight-week journey Friday in Ironwood, Mich., on the Upper Peninsula border with Wisconsin. He began walking in early May from southeast Michigan. Sauter has raised $16,000 for United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan. A 3-to-1 matching federal grant pushes that total to $64,000.

  • aladrin, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1On the other hand, saving the worst for last might make sense if you haven't got a lot of experience. After traveling 3/4 of the 830 miles, you'd have a LOT more skill than you started with, even if you were reasonably good.

I live in the Upper Peninsula and I was driving over this hill and got the crap scared out of me when I saw this guy climbing up that hill on those stilts...he looked like he was in pain but I honked and got a wave from him....which probably annoyed him, but I had know idea what the hell he was doing until I researched later. I guess his plan worked...it made me think of cerebral palsy.
