but not both or else he falls" - ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -4/+412And I thought it was cool that my cat could climb up my bunk bed...
...That was when I was a child BTW. I don't sleep in a bunk bed now. I upgraded to the racecar model. - loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -9/+296I wish digg had a video section
- pmuaddib, on 10/10/2007, -4/+210OK, I thought it was going to be stupid but that was cool. That cat needs an agent.
- whaler, on 10/10/2007, -2/+176I can't even begin to express my disappointment that this is not a video of a man holding his cat up to the ceiling, singing the "Spider-Cat" theme song.
- munkeyhatecleen, on 10/10/2007, -4/+110I see what you did there.
- po43292, on 10/10/2007, -2/+100...or a cat section.
- HBNDonut, on 10/10/2007, -3/+87Actually, description should be "does whatever a spider-cat does"
- zenmouse, on 10/10/2007, -7/+89Thanks to Digg, what was previously just another boring weekday has suddenly been filled with joys normally only found on CATURDAY!!!!!!
- Platysquirrel, on 10/10/2007, -3/+82I am an expert, and I say that video was awesome. Now if we can just find a way to make him glide...
- Digitalfilm43, on 10/10/2007, -1/+79I think the wall is actually stucco, not smooth.
- ToadLeg, on 10/10/2007, -15/+86description should be "does whatever a spider-cat can"
- superdupergc, on 10/10/2007, -2/+65i made that mistake once - it cost me an eye.
- burak1, on 10/10/2007, -10/+72But can he do whatever a SpiderPig can?
- SeaMowse, on 10/10/2007, -6/+63I AM an expert. I own 6 cats. One of my six can catch a fly in mid air, by one soaring leap. I've seen him go as high as six feet to catch a fly. The cat's name is Spyder! Cats are very, very agile. What appears to be impossible - a cat will find it possible. Never underestimate a cat.
- rompom7, on 10/10/2007, -8/+63I'm more surprised by the fact they made the video so small that it didn't collapse on itself, pulling all of the internet into a singularity that light itself cannot even escape...
- fani, on 10/10/2007, -2/+53The 2nd good witty comment I read today on Digg. The other one was on the Tim McGraw / Faith Hill story -
"McGraw Hill is a textbook partnership" or something ....
Wow, must be a solar eclipse or something. Such a thing rarely happens on digg that we get a good witty comment, let alone 2. - techsmack, on 10/10/2007, -8/+57I can haz superpowerz too?
- mark_1581, on 10/10/2007, -2/+50Yeah, me too.

- raybury, on 10/10/2007, -5/+47Can it predict deaths?
- Jayeugene, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42Yeah, but its a *****' sweet car!
- endlessraining, on 10/10/2007, -4/+46Cat videos always kick ass
- CalmLlama, on 10/10/2007, -1/+42The only surprising thing is the cat came when it was called
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+38Ass claws? 0.o
- Rylinkus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+38If there's a better use for the internet, I don't know what it is.
- jasonslay, on 10/10/2007, -2/+39I read a while back that they are working on it. Let's hope that they finish soon.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+38Why? I had a cat once that would climb up a brick wall chasing spiders, if they can find enough purchase, they will climb it.
- vroom101, on 10/10/2007, -10/+42Hmmm...I'd like an expert's analysis of the video.
- acarr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33It's called a stucco wall and sharp ass claws.
- ziki, on 10/10/2007, -3/+32Did your roommates buy you it for Christmas?
- sleepwalkers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+28Correction: Those six cats own you.
- 10001110101, on 10/10/2007, -0/+26... or make Buries actually do something.. I miss the "Some diggers have flagged this as inaccurate" title.
That, or allow diggers to choose alternative subjects, and give Thumbs Up/Down to the alternatives.. If enough people said "No, this belongs in the video section", then automatically change the section. - HBNDonut, on 10/10/2007, -8/+34Yeah thats right, you better be sorry! ...
lol jkjk - MrsButtersworth, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26Seriously.
- alittleroy101, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25Keep feeding me videos. I don't plan on working too hard today.
- FrederikNS, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23The technique the cat in the video uses for climbing, is the exact same as my 5 cats use when they climb large trees without branches.
- Brasky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Are they going to get you some wheels for christmas? Maybe a radio?
- ToadLeg, on 10/10/2007, -5/+27Aaah! you're right! sorry...
- fadetoone, on 10/10/2007, -7/+28Can he swing from a web? No he can't cuz he's a cat.
- kingdomdude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22rofl. I am stealing your little ryhme forever. and ever.
- vroom101, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23In general, the whole cat family is smart, agile, and excellent climbers. What's not immediately obvious in the video, well at least for me it isn't (yet), is how the cat managed get and keep a strong grip on what *appears* to be smooth wall to make the climb -- but appearances are often deceiving. It'd be interesting to know how the cat learned how to make the climb and under what circumstances. Perhaps being chased by a dog triggered the cat's "necessity is the mother of inventions" part of the brain!
All that said, the video is cool and a keeper. - MrMil, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Purchase? Who are you? Mirriam Webster?
Purchase...honestly. - doctechnical, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I think what surprises people about this is they're mostly familiar with what cats can do when they're playing. When kitty "plays" he's using perhaps 50% of his total Cat-capacity. When the little furry bugger is really motivated (ie, hunting, running from a threat) he's got about 4 extra gears you didn't know about.
I watched my sister's cat snatch a bat out of mid-air with a single 6' leap, and did it within 5 seconds of the bat's entrance into the house. I opened the door, in flew a bat, WHAM! the the cat has the bat grounded permanently.
Cats are amazing critters. Tasty, too.
(OK, I was kidding about tasty) - jaz12, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23I ♥ cats
- Amadeus2490, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Okay, your comment is extremely wrong for two differnet reasons: It's wrong to have sex with a cat, and it's wrong to actually hit a cat. Shame.
- DrDragun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Ever seen a cat climb a tree? They don't exactly grab the branches, they just claw their way up the trunk. This is the same thing... the cat uses its claws to dig into the rough/porous surface texture of the wall the same as a cat climbing a tree digs onto the bark.
- MrMil, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Oh yeah? Well MY cat likes cheese!! And his tummy is soft and I like how his ears are all pointy!
Yeah we know all cats climb stuff, douche, the point is this kitty has a video we can all watch and your wretched animals are sand *****.
I hate you. - XBSHX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Yep, its stucco. I had a cat that would do the same thing.
