Speeders, red-light runners rejoice! City shuts down traffic cameras!
charlotte.com — Charlotte, N.C., is shutting down its red-light cameras and anti-speeder cameras because of an uncertain outcome in a pending lawsuit over who gets the money from them. It says 75% of the cash was going to run the camera system, operated by an independent contractor. The NC courts (and NC constitution) said the money must go to local schools.
