- coyote1284, on 02/21/2008, -1/+1Funny thing is that'd imply that you've attempted to procreate, or at least slept with someone of the opposite sex. And, well, as a Digger....

GET OVER IT.- seraph582, on 02/20/2008, -3/+33lol gays
- madeingermany, on 02/20/2008, -3/+4I don't think this is about people that don't have a problem with gays making fun of them.
It's more about those people that think that "the family" needs to be protected.
Let's just forget about the high divorce rate, the main problem is gay marriage.... faith-based logic. - rezist, on 02/21/2008, -1/+2some people become cultured as they age and learn about dignity.
- ElAssoWipo, on 02/21/2008, -2/+1And then these people become mature and realize respect is something you earn, not someting you command.
- Userfaulty, on 02/20/2008, -5/+11I am not gay and have nothing against gays. If a gay guy hits on me I take it as a compliment but tell them I am not interested. I don't see why people always say "as long as they are leaving me alone I will leave them alone." The way I see it is it takes a hell of a lot more courage for a gay guy to hit on YOU than it takes for you to hit on a woman.
If you think being hit on by a guy (once in a blue moon) is bad, how do you think a woman feels being hit on everyday?- ElAssoWipo, on 02/20/2008, -3/+8Well there's other things than getting hit on. Changing the nature of social institutions, is another one. I have absolutely no problems with homosexuals either, my brother is gay and living with a man, and I'm over there every weekend.
Except I'm against gay marriage (and so is my brother). We believe in a form of civil union between gay men or women that would guarantee succession rights, visitation rights, etc. but without benefits intended to promote parenting. Like my brother says, it takes 3 people for a gay couple to have kids, that's just common sense. We say remove "marriage" benefits and replace them with civil union and separately, parenting benefits. That way everybody is happy.
Gay marriage is an example but there are others, like freedom of speech and institutional freedoms. Like the Boyscouts. They don't allow gays and people tried to sue them for it. Private organizations can decide to discriminate against gays if they want to and they should have that right. That way I know where NOT to send my kids.
I think that's more what people mean when they say "as long as they don't affect me, I don't care".- mecenday, on 02/20/2008, -1/+12I'm glad that you and your gay brother can find an understanding... but I don't think one gay man's opinion should preclude throngs of others who would like that option. There are plenty of straight people who don't believe in marriage at all, that doesn't mean no one should get married.
Gay marriage is not a threat to your marriage. I promise. You are proposing a "seperate but equal" system, and we know how that ends up from history.
I don't agree with suing the Boy Scouts except that they DO receive government money and services. That's starting to change now. It's everyone's gov't, we all pay for it. Once they're off the gov't dole, it won't be as much of an issue, but don't expect people to ever stop bringing their discriminatory practices into the spotlight because that's the power of free speech.
It doesn't effect you, you shouldn't care. - ElAssoWipo, on 02/20/2008, -4/+3I'm not saying it's a threat to my marriage, I don't even believe in marriage. Only reason I got married was to shut my wife up.
I'm saying I don't think a gay marriage represents a family. In Canada, with a Universal healthcare system and everything being so damn socialized, families get all kinds of income tax cuts and benefits to promote families, as in having kids.
Except the law makes no distinction between a marriage and a family (a couple with at least one child). So I'm paying parenting incentives and family benefits to people who don't even have kids. And it goes for gays and heterosexuals too, which is why we think both types of benefits should be separated.
It's not gays and heteros, it's families and not families. Families all get the same benefits, marriages without kids don't get family benefits.
Let gays get married if they want to be miserable, but let's not pretend that a gay couple somehow represents a family, they simply don't. It affects me because I pay a ***** of taxes (42% plus 12% on every purchase to be precise) and I'm a libertarian. - madeingermany, on 02/20/2008, -0/+3But what is the reason you and your brother are against gay marriage?
Redefining marriage to civil union doesn't really change anything for me, both ways, I don't care who gets married. It just doesn't affect me.
As for the Boy Scouts: I agree with mecenday, if you take tax money, you can't discriminate against who your org will benefit.
In general, I think nobody should discriminate against anyone :) - ElAssoWipo, on 02/20/2008, -2/+3It takes religion out of the equation. The whole point of gays wanting to get married is to have the same civil priviledges has heterosexual married people do. The entire objection to gay marriage is the religious nature of marriage. Our solution makes everybody happy, the union is recognized, the rights are equal, marriage is intact.
Replace boyscouts by completely private catholic school. It's just an example. - mecenday, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2You may be shocked to learn this, but many gay people are religious too. Religion isn't only for straights. Further, what they're looking for is marriage recognition by the State, which is supposed to be seperate from the Church. As a Libertarian, you should know that.
No one is forcing the Catholic Church or any other church to allow gay weddings... they are looking for State and civil recognitions of their unions, and possibly a religious ceremony by a friendly church. - snarfyboy, on 02/20/2008, -2/+2The problem is that the BSA doesn't act like a completely private organization. They want all the perks of being a public organization; they only claim to be private when it suits them to.
As for you comment about taxes, I don't understand. Do you think that all gay people should get refunds since we pay taxes too, which go to school districts and other benefits your claim we don't take part in? Of course, this all relies on your claim that we don't have families, even though I know plenty of gay people with children, both biological or adopted. Are you claiming they aren't families? - ElAssoWipo, on 02/20/2008, -1/+1I suggest you people either buy a dictionnary or go back to school because you clearly don't know how to read.
- snarfyboy, on 02/21/2008, -1/+1Ah, the ad hominem. Don't have anything of substance to say, do you?
- ElAssoWipo, on 02/21/2008, -2/+1Yes I do: you fail at basic reading comprehension.
"The problem is that the BSA doesn't act like a completely private organization."
"Replace boyscouts by completely private catholic school. It's just an example."
"this all relies on your claim that we don't have families"
I never said that, you're an idiot. I would call it a strawman if I wasn't sure you're too stupid to even realize what you were saying. Don't claim you represent homosexuals, it makes them look stupid.
- mecenday, on 02/20/2008, -1/+12I'm glad that you and your gay brother can find an understanding... but I don't think one gay man's opinion should preclude throngs of others who would like that option. There are plenty of straight people who don't believe in marriage at all, that doesn't mean no one should get married.
- ElAssoWipo, on 02/20/2008, -3/+8Well there's other things than getting hit on. Changing the nature of social institutions, is another one. I have absolutely no problems with homosexuals either, my brother is gay and living with a man, and I'm over there every weekend.
- senatorpjt, on 02/20/2008, -0/+7You obviously don't know any gay people. The fact is that a lot of them have mannerisms that are... humorous. It may not be a choice to be gay, but it's a choice to be flamboyant about it, and they are funny, and there's nothing I can do about finding them amusing either.
- snarfyboy, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2So, according to you, people can chose their mannerisms, but you can't choose your mannerism to laugh at them. Interesting.
I guarantee I know far more gay people then you. And the fact is the vast majority of us are not "flamboyant". So make stereotypes if you want, but that's all they are.- senatorpjt, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1I didn't say all gay people were flamboyant, but the ones that are can be pretty funny to observe. And you can't say that none of them are.
- snarfyboy, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2No, you said 'a lot'. There is a clear implication in that phrase, and you know it.
So, I can therefore laugh at all heterosexuals because a few act like, say, Paris Hilton? Right? As I said, you are making stereotypes.
- snarfyboy, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2So, according to you, people can chose their mannerisms, but you can't choose your mannerism to laugh at them. Interesting.
- moush, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Why did you have to first say that were you not gay? Don't want to be called one?
- muniak, on 02/20/2008, -8/+35If straight folks had funny sterotypes I would make fun of them too, they don't so I don't. I try and make fun of everyone as equally as possible; black, white, yellow and... red? I don't care, just don't be offended by something that is a joke.

- volvinator, on 02/20/2008, -1/+10As a straight Mac user, I found that utterly hilarious....
All one has to do is talk to a typical staff member of a typical Apple store... Very "out of the box" individuals.
Apple - "Think... Fabulous!" - rurounikengyrl, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2ugh that was just terrible.

- Atex55, on 02/20/2008, -3/+48It says "homophobic", not homosexual. "Tackling homophobic bullying in Britain's schools"
- Myztry, on 02/20/2008, -12/+9But wouldn't targeting individuals based on their traits (homophobic) be a form of bullying in itself ? Being homophobic may be foolish, but it's not exactly illegal (though bullying is)
- luchid, on 02/20/2008, -4/+5No.
- SharkyTech, on 02/21/2008, -1/+2It doesn't say to tackle homophobes, only homophobic bullying.
- kubedawg, on 02/20/2008, -1/+5Regardless, you think there might be gay people in the world who are afraid of other gay people?

What's amazing is not that you misread, but that you're being dugg up for your stupidity.
- MasterODisaster, on 02/20/2008, -6/+52No, just tackling
- ieataquacrayons, on 02/20/2008, -20/+372It's not gay until the balls touch.
- Brasky, on 02/20/2008, -12/+6I thought it was only gay if you kissed...damn...
- FlagrantDrugUse, on 02/20/2008, -0/+3No. This is the rule: It's not gay if it's not your first choice, or you didn't like it.
- Incomp3tnt, on 02/20/2008, -0/+3It's a 4Chan thing.
- bpollay, on 02/20/2008, -2/+9Hey, its only skin.
- BigBallistix, on 02/20/2008, -3/+1Well yeah, but skin is the largest organ so you could just as well say having gay sex with a condom on doesn't constitute as much gayness as holding hands.
- H0tKarl, on 02/20/2008, -2/+47And then, only if you make eye contact.
- Myztry, on 02/20/2008, -5/+30A popular Australian Army saying (I believe) is that you're only a poof if you receive.
- loquedesea, on 02/20/2008, -2/+31"never leave your buddy's behind..."
- hobbitsareneat, on 02/20/2008, -3/+10Poof is derogatory, isn't it?
- Myztry, on 02/20/2008, -2/+7Depends on context. In Australia, amongst friends (straight or gay) it can be a 'term of endearment'. Applies to many 'insults'. Mind you, from a stranger, and we'll be knocking teeth out.
- Myonosken, on 02/20/2008, -1/+7I dunno about the US, but Europe and Australia don't really care amongst mates.
- cor315, on 02/20/2008, -1/+18oh god, now you have me picturing balls touching
- ctiptonk, on 02/20/2008, -4/+13don't knock it till you've tried it ^_^

- GuacamoleSan, on 02/20/2008, -3/+19what if you were suddenly attacked by a ball-licking homosexual? I heard they attack without warning.
- sloppjyoe890, on 02/20/2008, -5/+0And even then a simple call of "No *****" renders the rule void.
- dacjames, on 02/20/2008, -6/+4It's not gay until you get a boner.

- centran, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2as long as you are both in different female holes when your balls touch it is still totally hetro.
- DrummerAndrew, on 02/21/2008, -1/+1No. It's only gay if you push back.
- WikiEasy, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Why would 2 straight guys wanna bang one girl at the same time? I never understood that one.
- Brasky, on 02/20/2008, -12/+6I thought it was only gay if you kissed...damn...
- Ch0chi, on 02/20/2008, -66/+7What would have made this even more funny is if it said "LAWL GAYS!"

- Richandler, on 02/20/2008, -21/+391In San Francisco this sign would say "Some people are straight, Too bad for them!"
- Archon810, on 02/20/2008, -4/+7In San Francisco next to 80, there's a huge billboard that says "ARE YOU GAY.com?" with a dude ready to eat your face off.
- Shaderone, on 02/20/2008, -1/+6...But have you ever seen the dude actually do it?
- jsleno, on 02/20/2008, -2/+89In Soviet Russia, some gays are people.

- flazz, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1first good 'in soviet russia' i've heard in a while, thanks.
- nebion, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Seriously, it would obviously be best to be bisexual, as you'd have the most choices.
Sadly I'm just hetero, so my choices are limited to straight women...- Incomp3tnt, on 02/20/2008, -1/+3Or if you're really lucky, one bisexual woman and any amount of lesbians. At the same time. Covered in melted chocolate.

- ZellD, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2I was driving through colchester the other day and saw the same sign. Except it had 'kill them' written.
Now as I gay guy I should have been offended but I was laughing my ass off for some reason. Some combination of the naivety of the sign creators, the 13 yearold writing, and what I perceived to be sarcasm.
- neo2007, on 02/20/2008, -36/+3I could care less if they are happy!!! Can we move on now? This sucks! By the way, what is a homosexual?
- MasterThief117, on 02/20/2008, -2/+1"what is a homosexual?"

- aoru, on 02/20/2008, -65/+14We need to tell the governor and the world that gay marriage is not okay! That homosexuals cannot muddy our traditions! And there is only one way for us, all together, to make that message very clear! We need to round up three or four queers and beat the livin' hell out of them! Come on, everybody! Let's get some queers, and some trucks, and have us a good old-fashioned fag drag!
- Andrew988, on 02/20/2008, -11/+7I can't tell if your serious. . . dugg down for confusion
- claudz86, on 02/20/2008, -2/+14he isn't being serious its purely a joke simply because this is a quote from south park by Mrs Garrison no less, Dugg for making me lol.
- mondoman89, on 02/20/2008, -4/+24I don't see how marriage can be ruined any more. Straight people have already done that by getting divorces every five years and ruining their kids' lives.
- pintomp3, on 02/20/2008, -7/+11thanks for the insight ron paul
- hmcook87, on 02/20/2008, -1/+5ah, yes south park. had me worried there for a second.

- bigmike504, on 02/20/2008, -14/+1if only they werent afraid to mess up their precious hair that wouldnt be a problem
- sloppjyoe890, on 02/20/2008, -11/+1Smear the queer we used to call it.

- round427, on 02/20/2008, -1/+6How was it growing up in Arkansas?
- hara001, on 02/20/2008, -12/+22We could use an alternative type of advertising in Quebec (Canada) saying; Some man are just normal heterosexual being trying to get an honest living. Get over it; they are not all necessarily rapist, pedophile, women beaters, racist or overly aggressive. Some of my friends are pretending to be gay because they get more respect.
- daza, on 02/20/2008, -0/+8They're probably just creeping out of the closet.
- hara001, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0Nah dude, my friend assured me he was just pretending, after he tried to grab my ass... 3 times.
- bubbakja, on 02/20/2008, -3/+1So that's where Quebec is ! De sorte qu'où le Québec est ! (babelfish)
- Ninja337, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1You suck at French so much
- farboo, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1Unless they get gay bashed. It does happen in Quebec.
- daza, on 02/20/2008, -0/+8They're probably just creeping out of the closet.
- VinnieDaMac, on 02/20/2008, -34/+15Theres nothing wrong with being gay, but why the hell do I need to know that you're gay?
- fac3less, on 02/20/2008, -13/+4Especially in school settings. What does sexual preference have to do with school curriculum?
Obviously, we need to get back to the basics: reading, riding & arithmetic. Not riding, rubbing & anal sex.- Fragged, on 02/20/2008, -7/+15Obviously nether of you two were cool enough to go to a party, sex happens there, between a boy and a girl in fact!... not to mention the constant throat sucking which happens quite often if you open your ***** eyes.
Being out, and still at school has done wonders for me; I lost the friends who couldn't accept me for who I really am, and have had several people come out to me and now have a small, hidden subgroup of gay, lesbian and bisexual youth which makes it feel less claustrophobic and more accepting as a school. Last year there was a total of four gays and three lesbians and a handful of bisexuals; in a school of 200. Wake up, we are normal people too =)
-Fragged- Azerael, on 02/20/2008, -6/+15Normal people don't sign their comments.
- Fragged, on 02/20/2008, -13/+7Yeah, I come from a more intelligent group than digg and all your MacOS/Ubuntu/Windows ***** rants, weekly cancer cures and announcing the death of HDDVD roughly a hundred times. So think of me as you like, but employ the fact that I automatically assume your all virgins who live with your parents.
-Fragged :) - xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -7/+3Sweet. I hate being normal. I am going to sign mine then. Normal/average of populous people are sort of idiots.

- jefferson987, on 02/20/2008, -2/+6Excuse me Nastonomical, but your comment was totally ridiculous, unnecessary, and most of all ignorant. Its bigots like you that cause these signs to get put up in first place! And the sign is right, some people ARE gay, and we are living in a time where gay people are becoming more prominent in society because its becoming more safe, and more tolerant for them. So just get the ***** over yourself already. If you can't accept that, then I suggest you ***** move to Iraq where being gay will get you killed.

- OwlFlavored, on 02/20/2008, -32/+84I think this picture is kinda tragic- the fact that homophobia leads to many unspeakable hate crimes, unfair legislation by the US government (among MANY governments- and in some countries homosexuals would be jealous of the US for not putting them to death), and then a sign trying to say it like it is gets NO respect. What point does "lol gays" make? That people don't take hate seriously. I'm not gay, but I've seen people really badly hurt physically and emotionally by homophobes, and I think as a human, this is not something that should be made fun of.
- RobotJesus, on 02/20/2008, -13/+48It was a joke. You know, for the lulz.

- Ninja337, on 02/20/2008, -1/+3People are tired of being told what they are supposed to think by a bunch of fat attention whore lesbians. Billboards like this do more bad for the gays than good.
- eir574, on 02/20/2008, -3/+2Oops -- there's a period at the end of that URL. Try http://digg.com/world_news/Children_s_Book_About_S ...
- LocalDocal, on 02/20/2008, -16/+2Owl, I understand how you feel completely, and yes, many gays have been hurt by homophobia. However, if it is any consolation, homophobia have also given normal people a great deal of entertainment, so it sort of evens out, right? As they say, whatever gives joy can also give pain.
- bigmike504, on 02/20/2008, -24/+3Your right... its not something to be made fun of... Homosexuality is REAL and is extremely harmful to humanity, and should be destroyed in the most serious manner possible.
- xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -16/+1It is harmful but they aren't physically harming. Its more of warping of society kind of harmful. I don't hate gays. I hate the ones that wish to show the world that its ok to be gay. Is it ok to be a child rapist if you are one? I don't hate them. I just wish they would stop screwing with the way things should be. You may be gay but when you start screwing with things that shouldn't be screwed with then we have a problem.
- amirman, on 02/20/2008, -8/+2you are ***** insane! i'd like to screw you in the ass with my big gay aids dick you assmouth! WTF is "Is it ok to be a child rapist if you are one?" supposed to even mean?
- hobbitsareneat, on 02/20/2008, -1/+6Yeah, and slavery is perfectly fine too. *rollseyes*
- xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -1/+1Did I say slavery or anything that drastic was ok?
- Athelwulf, on 02/20/2008, -2/+5So homosexuality is like child rape? How does that even compare? Or are you just being sarcastic?
- xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1Overdramatic.
- xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -11/+1To those who took my comment too far....Calm down, breathe, think. I threw out there a very dramatic statement in order to make you think. Not that gays are bad as a child rapist. They just are distorting the society with concepts of unnatural behavior. Yes I know some animals do it too. That however is not natural for those animals. Normal is being attracted to the opposite sex in which you can procreate with. You can love your male friends but do you really have to screw another of your own gender? It is the head yes of course but I was just trying to state my opinion. So in light of this please calm down and don't over react.
- rhochipi, on 02/20/2008, -3/+3I certainly hope that you love your Girlfriend/Wife because of who she is rather than because of her Female Parts and that she can pop out a Baby. You are oversimplifying the Situation by defining Relationships based on Biology. It's not even about Biology, it's about Love and Attraction. And, how can you ignore the Fact that some Animals engage in Same-Sex Relations?! Clearly it occurs in Nature. So, are you just choosing to ignore it so that you can make your Point?? Normal is a Construct that is Relative. Everyone has their Own Definition of it and you have yours. But, you can't take your Definition and apply it to the World or even US. People are entitled to live their Lives as they choose and "screw[ing] another of your own gender" is pretty Harmless.
- xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1Yes I am attracted to her and her personality. I didn't ignore it did I I put it in there. Normal is an average of people. The normal genetics of an animal dictate it go for a mate of the opposite gender. I also didn't say they shouldn't have the ability. That is their own problem not mine. I merely stated that they shouldn't screw with the things that are currently in place. Things such as marriage. The construct of marriage is between a man and woman. If they want to make some other agreement go ahead but it should not stand for the regular marriages and they perks of being married. They are harmless till the mess with something that is special and should not be changed. It is akin to calling your car a motorcycle just because it has a motor and wheels.
- ZeroG52, on 02/20/2008, -2/+2"Normal is a construct that is relative."
It is people who think like this - moral relativism - that are going to be the downfall of civilized society.- snarfyboy, on 02/20/2008, -1/+3Really? People used to think that it was normal to keep people of different races from marrying. They used to think it was normal to not allow women to vote. They used to think owning other people was normal. Every time these practices were changed, there were people like you declaring it would be the fall of civilization. Still hasn't happened. Fear of change is the worst thing for any society, because the rest of the world will just pass them by.
- xptoast, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Normal as in genetics not normal as in societal behaviors.
- Athelwulf, on 02/20/2008, -3/+1So homosxuality is like child rape? Explain.
- Athelwulf, on 02/20/2008, -1/+5***** Digg. Disregard the comment I made to you a few minutes ago, which was for someone else, and which Digg and dial-up didn't let me get rid of. Here's my actual comment to you:
How is homosexuality harming to humanity? And please don't say it's because gays can't breed and we need to ***** to preserve the species: Obviously that's not a problem.
- Crucifix, on 02/20/2008, -4/+23It's only tragic if you think of it that way... it's your perspective, and one that's probably a bit too deep for your average digger. When I saw the pic I lol'd because of the contrast between the serious advertisement and the stupid graffiti - at no point did I have any consideration for the underlying issues represented by the image. I imagine it's the same for most people who saw it.
So don't worry about it. Sometimes ***** is just funny.- resplence, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Right on. And if you ask me that is a pretty stupid advertisement, to begin with. What point does "get over it" make? This just pisses people off. Did you have a bad day? Get over it. Your boss is an *****? Get over it. Stuck in traffic? Get over it. Such a nice thing to hear.
This kind of in your face approach might give the gay community a tingly feeling inside, but it's not going to win them any support or acceptance. - madmondo, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1Both of your comments are well put. We can't spend all of the time with the underlying issues, the sign is still funny.
- resplence, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Right on. And if you ask me that is a pretty stupid advertisement, to begin with. What point does "get over it" make? This just pisses people off. - pintomp3, on 02/20/2008, -5/+4it's pathetic that there are states that try to outlaw the private behavior of citizens, like sodomy laws in texas. some presidential candidates even support this type of tyranny:
"Consider the Lawrence case decided by the Supreme Court in June. The Court determined that Texas had no right to establish its own standards for private sexual conduct, because gay sodomy is somehow protected under the 14th amendment “right to privacy.” Ridiculous as sodomy laws may be, there clearly is no right to privacy nor sodomy found anywhere in the Constitution. There are, however, states’ rights – rights plainly affirmed in the Ninth and Tenth amendments. Under those amendments, the State of Texas has the right to decide for itself how to regulate social matters like sex, using its own local standards." - Ron Paul- Athelwulf, on 02/20/2008, -2/+2Even if I were a libertarian, I have a feeling I wouldn't like Ron Paul much.

- emalen, on 02/20/2008, -3/+7Gays don't "really" bother you? so they only kinda bother you?
- beartrash, on 02/20/2008, -0/+3So I'm gay (like my login name implies) and 4 years back I got bashed in NYC. I was slightly drunk, listening to my ipod and swishing too much for my own good (obviously.) And I heard three guys behind me yelling, "Fag", "What a queer", "Hey *****" and I ignored it and walked down into an NYC subway station.
At the bottom of the stairs I turned around and said "***** you assholes" - which they heard.
One of the three of them kicked me in the face until I bled all over my shirt.
So this sign and the tag disturb me. What if it said, "LOL N*ggers" or "LOL Jews"? Would that be offensive?
What's the difference?- Lanefair, on 02/20/2008, -0/+0Sorry to hear about your incident, but about your last part:
You're suggesting that there would be a bill board saying 'Some people are N*ggers/Jews, get over it'
I would find that offensive, let alone the graffiti that followed.
