"0 HEIGHT=50 ROWSPAN=3>
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e31'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired
/results2.ASP, line 234"
Delicious, I say! - tacojohn48, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I like those easy recipes, like an apple by itself; even I can do that one. Another great one is bacon surprise, the surprise is it's just bacon.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16The web site suggested that I cook 0 HEIGHT=50 ROWSPAN=3>
Gotta run to grocery store to buy 50 Heights and 3 Rowspans.
Do you smell what The Rock is cooking? - capiCrimm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11but have you tried baked beans on toast?
- StarCrusher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Gack! There's no way I would use this site. I clicked on everything and got suggestions for baked beans on toast, an apple, a chocolate bar, and some Bacon Surprise. Any level of decent programming would have given you the most complex, ingredient intensive suggestions first.. Given what I have in the kitchen, I could make a seven course meal for forty and this site suggests baked beans on toast?
- Gizza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6About the only thing I can do is make a cup of coffee while I ponder why I have no food in the house.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Learn how to bake a potato using the sun like I did from BEAKMAN'S WORLD.
- bickdigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6had to close the window after a quick test.
my eyes are bleeding. - b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6foobar -
I particularly enjoyed the sweet tang of the Drivers error '80040e31' - it really added something to the recipe. - evilspoons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wow, I can make omelettes! And more omelettes! And apparently an apple counts as an entire recipe! Gaaah.
- capiCrimm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I thought the apple was too hard to cook. I'm going to starve to death, aren't I? ... oh my god, someone help me, please help me for the love of god.
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3ha ha ha. awsome. a college students savior.
is there anything for a ***** load of pot noodle and beer? oh wait... - syl1985, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5That is a friggin' awesome site, thanks for the link!
- philnash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I used this site once when I wanted to cook dinner with the few food items I had in the house. It only suggested a cup of coffee... so I went hungry all night.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is a great thread, but does it really belong in "World and Business" ( let alone at the top) ?
I think the article in Business Week about digg.com being dead as a serious alternative news site was more accurate then I thought when I first read it.
No offense to anyone. - Equistatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good idea, lame implementation.
- HsoKinees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is by FAR the best link i've ever seen on Digg!!!
DUGgggggggggggg XD
P.S., whoda thunk that potato shavings + oil + oven = crisps? XD i won't starve today :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How about, "Can you write a properly punctuated sentence?"
- fledglyng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This, of course, presupposes you have *anything* in your fridge to begin with.
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whatever, I'm in the USA and have Digestive Biscuits on my shelf, and since when were tinned tomatoes a Brit thing?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2http://.../frames.html
URL says it all. - kevyn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1been using this site for a while...a lot of the results are pretty lame, but there are some gems. i have beans! and bread! oh my god could it be a match made in heaven? BEANS ON TOAST! WOO HOO
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1could use more ingredients (and i guess more recipes but it won't load to find out) from more locations/cultures but good idea nevertheless.
- CedEx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Even easier would be to get one of those Foreman grills.
Recipe?
Take any raw unprocessed food you got, put it in, take out when fully cooked. Spice to taste.
Easiest thing for those without kitchen skills. - airship, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This would be a great site if the lists of ingredients and recipes were more extensive.
But it's a cool concept. It told me I could make a meal of a grilled cheese sandwich, baked beans, rice pudding, and baked apples with what I have in the house right now (which is not much). That's a much better meal than I would have come up with on my own. - ubuwalker31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cooking tips for Nerds:
1) Baked Chicken
Buy a whole chicken. Wash in sink, remove giblets. Put chicken in pan covered in aluminum foil. Rub with salt, pepper, and any other spice that you like. Bake for an hour to three hours, until the meat is not raw. The oven should be set to around 350. Carve it up and eat it. If you're feeling adventurous, broil the liver and other innards and eat that too.
2) Steak
Buy a steak. Rub with salt and pepper. (optional: let steak sit in worshetcher sauce first) Put under the broiler for 2-5 minutes a side. Make sure not to burn the steak or over cook it.
4) Pasta
Chop onions, garlic. Put in pot with olive oil. Saute until translucent. Add canned pureed tomatoes. Add Italian herbs. Let it cook for 20 minutes. Get some chopped meat, form into balls. Drop into sauce and cook for 20 to 40 minutes. 15 minutes before the sauce is done, put up a pot of water, boil. Add pasta to water. Boil for 4-10 minutes depending on pasta. When cooked, drain into a colander. Put pasta on plate, top with sauce and meatballs. Add garlic powder or spices on top if u want. Or cheese.
3) Salad
Buy veggies you like to eat. Cut into pieces. Toss. Add a salad dressing or make your own with vinegar and some oil or mayo and some spices.
4) Fish
Put fish (whole or fillet) in pan. Add some butter and lemon and salt and pepper. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes to an hour, or until the fork can flake the flesh. Feel free to leave it a little raw in the middle, especially if it is salmon or tuna. - thefurryone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1100% of 4 ingredients in Pasta with cheese sauce.
A slightly creamy, definitely cheesy pasta sauce.
You are missing an essential ingredient : Pasta.
I'm suddenly less enamored of this site than I previously was. - Tordenflesk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.cookingbynumbers.com/Recipe_in_one.asp?RecipeID=209
baaah - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1was really looking forward to my meal. driver error stopped me in my tracks.
This lame duck's got us all screwed. Yet he's made the front page. Nice! - NotalesS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Little werid on the choices of things to cook. I'll stay with the regular noodles for now.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha ha, I just went to the store yesterday and bought a few staples but I guess it wasn't enough. Besides being told to eat a plain apple and a fried egg I also got this one:
"100% of 2 ingredients in A cup of coffee
So you only have coffee? Well make a cup, ponder on life and why you have no food in the house."
I can cook, but this is a cool tool to get some ideas of new things to make. - archemedes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I didn't see my favorite easy foods, toast pizza and parmesan noodles.
- AuntyBub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well I've lived all over this country and I've always heard them called canned tomatoes, note that's "canned" not "tinned" and as for digestive biscuits try looking here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digestive_biscuit
For those who don't want to click on the link I quote: "A digestive biscuit, sometimes referred to as a sweetmeal biscuit, is a BRITISH semi-sweet biscuit." (caps mine)
I didn't say they didn't exist in America but they certainly didn't originate here. - justok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Buy in bulk while you're there. Its cheaper. And check the packaging/pricing. Is 50 heights one item or 50?
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A more complex one: http://home.ivillage.com/cooking/recipes/recipefinder
- Druox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Mmmmmm.....

Just like mom used to make - AuntyBub, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Sweet I can make all kinds of stuff, plus I love the anglo spin, digestive biscuits, tinned tomatoes and the like
- nixfu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1/whoot...I get ODBC errors.
Sorry, but ANY SITE built on Microsoft ODBC = Very LAME - CedEx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Beans, beans good for your heart!
The more you eat, the more you fart! - DavidOv0216, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0i seriously seriously love who ever posted this and love even more who ever created this
- bertiewooster07, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1This is a strange example of a circular argument; what you have in the kitchen is noted on this checklist, and then the checklist informs you what there is to eat. "Fascinating." -- Spock
No doubt from the guys who performed this:
http://www.digg.com/videos/gaming/Video_Game_Demo_Audience_Gets_Tortured
;] - nixfu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1That there is the recipe for a ***** lame website......anything with Microsoft in the ingredients that is.
