- crazyjake, on 03/31/2009, -1/+29i'm going to come up with a more form-fitting version of these, and put a hood on it. i think i'll call it... a "hoodie"! soon everyone will be wearing my "hoodies"
- Alias1431, on 03/31/2009, -1/+21Fleece Poncho. Floncho. I will be rich.
- stevo3131, on 03/31/2009, -1/+16Not only do you still look like a giant douche wearing one, you spent $30 doing it.
- HappyScrappy, on 03/30/2009, -1/+10Why does the article mention that robes are short because no one wants to trip on them while up above explaining how great it is to have a 95 inch long robe on?
I'm gonna make the roblanket that is 95 inches long but has a draw string you pull that shortens it up to a length where you can walk without tripping. - Toshibi, on 03/31/2009, -2/+10Hi! My name is Toshibi (not really) and I love your idea with the draw strings. I would love to get you set up with Infomercials, WalMart, and the people to make these things (In Taiwan). If you'll send me $4500.00 dollars to handle some of the upfront costs I'll be more than happy to get this patented for you. We're talking Millions! Millions my good friend!
Best Wishes,
Toshibi - Theuderic, on 03/31/2009, -0/+7See if you can wear one past airport security.
- dvsbstrd, on 03/31/2009, -1/+8Alternately, wearing clothes.
- ZER0JACK, on 03/31/2009, -1/+7Nothing beats the WTF blanket.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h05ZQ7WHw8Y - Platysquirrel, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5ShamWoW won by a mile, man. Did you have a comfortable coma?
- WITFITS, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5This seems like a con, not a pro: "If you're serious about staying warm while also keeping your hands one extra layer of material away from being able to fondle your genitals, this is it."
- toastgodsupreme, on 03/31/2009, -1/+6Was a winner ever decided with ShamWow vs Zorbeez?
How can we move on to a new battle when this one isn't finished? ¯\(º_o)/¯ - rgrcabbage, on 03/31/2009, -0/+4I absolutely love my Slankets. A little pricey, but they last forever and they're irreplaceable. I've bought myself two and then given them as gifts each winter to friends living in cold states. It's totally worth it.
- abarysh2, on 03/31/2009, -0/+4I prefer the SnugWow http://www.gigglesugar.com/2975032
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -1/+4I want to work for gizmodo.com I don't get to do cool stuff like this at work.
- AlpineR, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3I'd rather read the humorous article in two minutes than spend seven minutes watching a G4 video.
- elislider, on 03/31/2009, -1/+4everything wrong with the american economy in 4 cheap robes... ugh
- Cloud7654, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3ShamWoW? ShamWorldOfWarcraft?
- Vagari, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3One of my best friends fumes over the Snuggie commericals. She's a Slanket diehard. She will be very pleased with these findings. =)
- rrife, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3Stealing the idea in 3...2...
- sageerrant, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Not with a name like that.
I'll buy eight! - kelaltieri, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2i've actually seen something similar to this in those harriet carter catalogs .. they looks like mc hammer jumpsuits.
- vagrantwade, on 03/31/2009, -4/+6By "your" I am sure you are speaking to the world itself. I am sure you aren't dumb enough to think America is the only country with an Economy having issues. Right?
- Cloud7654, on 03/31/2009, -1/+3Wrong reply button?
- andyd273, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Suddenly I want adult sized footsie PJs like I had when I was a kid...
- anotherjack, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2I am but a simple monk.
- arcanesmile, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2"The Freedom Blanket isn't quite as comfortable as the Slanket, but comparing it to the Snuggie would be like comparing rubbing your face with a cotton towel to rubbing your face with Joaquin Phoenix's beard."
nothing wrong with that - MistressRoninS, on 03/30/2009, -2/+4Ah this reminded me to stop by the fabric store so I can make myself a custom combination of the Slancoat and the Slanket. The slancoat would be perfect if it wasn't dragging on the floor. Its all about the mobility when you are cold and need to get to the fridge at night without tripping over the hem. Hood is essential so the Slancoat's head cover is really cool and reminds me of a certain controversial attire women wear in another country. Finally, the sleeves need to have superior hand hiding ability to cover the freezing hands enough to keep them warm without making them into mitts that interfere with picking things up.
- SeanyMac, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Anybody else initially think that the Freedom Blanket was just one big topical joke from 2003?
- yacks, on 03/31/2009, -1/+31.. HA! I stole it first!
- brad3378, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2None of the above compares with the Snug-Wow:
http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=snugwow# - Toshibi, on 03/31/2009, -1/+3It's a joke....
- Phate8263, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2But what If I need a booklight too, and only want to make one purchase?
- capnawesome, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2They make adult footie pajamas and they are everything you hope they will be.
- moose26, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1I agree. The fact the the Slanket has that extra layer to make it more difficult for me to fondle my own genitals is definitely pure evil and a sign of the apocalypse.
- fuzzynyanko, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1What's sad is that the first half could be mistaken for a real product
- anotherjack, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1But are they made of cotton or what? My aunt gave me big footie pajamas when I was a teen, but they were such a junky acrylic that it was super uncomfortable.
- Cloud7654, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1I own a Slanket. It's the most comfortable blanket I've ever had, and it doubles as a robe. I used to use it while on my laptop or playing Guitar Hero, but now I just sleep under it.
- dhughes, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1Consider this: booties, make a hybrid Snuggie/Slanket only at the bottom make huge booties, that would solve the tripping problem.
- Spamcan, on 03/31/2009, -1/+2The slanket is nearly $50 when you include shipping, if the shipping was free I'd seriously consider getting one.
- jitterbits, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1capn~
Impossible to have sex in? - smaze, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Slanket FTW!!
- inactive, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Sounds like a colon-scrubbing additive used in the tex-mex food industry.
- SwampAss, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1What happened to the Snuggle Wrap that was sold at Walmarts back in 1996.. they came in the classic red and green plaid and had snaps to form the backwards Robe or it could be used as a standard blanket...
- Theuderic, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1These aren't the droids you're looking for. You can go on your way.
- jitterbits, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1I just wear my husband's giant robe. Perhaps I should buy or make him a slanket in exchange, but then I would be obligated to laugh at him.
- TjPr8r, on 03/31/2009, -1/+1No Olivia Munn = fail
- attiapete, on 03/31/2009, -2/+2They're all pointless and worthless!
- vagrantwade, on 04/01/2009, -1/+1Bad for relying on the most powerful economy in the world? How else do you propose a global economy Mr. Star Trek?
- staley517, on 04/01/2009, -0/+0i love how it says snuggie $15 (dont buy this)
