- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30No. You have to be an adult to gamble.
Also, the article is titled "Here's $200, come again"
If you give it $20, and it registers it as $200, isn't that only giving you $180? - arusso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23I can't believe that couple turned it in...
If they were trying to be honest, why the hell did they take the $1600 bucks first? They were just spoiling the party for the rest of us... - shertzerj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21I like those odds.
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Well, the way the machine is functioning it's no longer gambling.
- ricree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15"Caesars Indiana lost $487,000 before a player notified officials of the problem with the machine, "
Apparently there were a lot of people who agreed with you. - Dabisu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Because they have a different currency than us.
- bjohnsonwsu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10And since when did honesty and gambling go together? I would hardly get a good feeling about having a problem like that fixed so it could exploit more people.
- Smeed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I too cant believe they turned that machine in. I would have loaded all my cash in there, cashed out and high tailed it out of that casino.
- Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9There are many, who believe they are one and the same.
- queefer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Honest? To a Casino? Anyone who are this honest to casinos are morons.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Why did people catch on so fast? If you're just sitting there playing, nobody notices if you win unless you start screaming or bells and whistles go off really fast.
Just put your money in, get a voucher, have a friend turn the voucher so you still are sitting there and then use the voucher money to get more. - Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The only problem with that is that you want to do it discreetly, i believe the amount redeemable without raising the tax flag is $1500, so if you cash out $1400 in vouchers you wont raise suspicion.... just get a gopher to redeem a bunch of vouchers all over the place and keep coming back to you for 1hr then leave with your winnings.
Hit it quick for lots of little wins and never come back, but people get greedy and try to do it all in one shot like you that first 2k payout will have to be done with an attendant which will make them change the machine. - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"except, the lady who popped in $100 while they were sitting there, probably will never be found, since she put in the money while their club card was in the machine."
Ah you see it was all a lie by the couple so that they could keep an extra thousand. There was no random pushy lady. - stlcadet11, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7How many people who take that job do you think turn into complusive gamblers?
- SadBeef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i live very close to the casino and was pissed when i found out. i wouldve stayed there til the thing ran out of money.
- BeReasonable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This link will probably be good for about 10 minutes, but http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060804/NEWS02/308040010/1008/NEWS01 is a link to the Louisville Courier-Journal article on the same topic. In it you learn 24 of the people who got in on over $400,000 worth of free money also used their "Players Club" card and so tracking them down to get the money back is going to be pretty easy.
This is the reason this lady reported the problem. Caesar's will figure out who benefitted from this and I have no doubt they will hunt them down if at all possible, and then...well I don't think I want to know.
Caesar's will at the very least ban these people for life and if the Gaming Commission lets them, probably take legal action too.
Although, I wonder how much more business this little story will drive their way?
Also, the lady got to keep one of $200 vouchers. - cgardner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4House loses.
- queefer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7The couple that turned it in are morons.
- jayripley123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6lol! anyone have the machine hack. i'm guessing its just like a coke machine inside there.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I would of taken a 20 turned it into a 200, then turned it into a 2,000 then a 20,000 then a 200,000 then the 2 million.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think the biggest question here is why did she ONLY put eight $20 bills in it?!?!
Cash that $1600 out and put another eighty $20 bills in before someone notices.
wtf mates? - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2very true
- Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3except, the lady who popped in $100 while they were sitting there, probably will never be found, since she put in the money while their club card was in the machine.
- Salviati, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You would only be gambling if you were risking the loss of your money. Otherwise it is just like putting your money into a change machine. It may still be illegal to knowingly take money that you know doesn't rightfully belong to you, but that is a different issue.
- Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think the casino cameras would be consulted to see if there was a lady or if they just popped in an extra $100
- Quakes, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4... Or honest.
- mastercheif, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Fine for me.
- roc69x, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7I would have put a few hundreds then taken off. The casinos are uber rich by screwing people over. So what is wrong taking advantage of them. They did not even notice this for a week.
Fool me once, shame on.................... shame on you. Fool me .................you can't get fooled again. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It will be a while before Digg takes down CNN (literally, it already is a better overall site for news than CNN)
- roc69x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bush was trying to say the saying, ""Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." He was too stupid to even remember this famous quote. If the casino was careless enough not to notice this for a week they deserved to be ripped off. Do you watch the Daily Show?
- Wolffactor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When i turned 21 i went to Los Vegas. Their is two options a players card or vouchers printed on paper the amount you won. I bet alot of people used the vouchers to leave their money trail traceless. Also you dont give all the vouchers at once. Instead give some to your wife or husband and other family members to get the rewards. If i was them i would get vouchers under 500 to not be found out.
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4So George Bush was attempting to reference the song?
- kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1where is this illustrious 10x switch!! man that would be sweet. pop the switch put in a couple hundies and switch it back. take ur moeny and leave. perfect way to get some quick cash. thought this is highly illegal/ even immoral.
- BBGregory, on 05/22/2009, -0/+0wow. i like to try playing. amounts like sounds awesome.
- insanemike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Mundane detail? This is not a mundane detail Michael!"
- gothicx00, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Um.... dumb mistake for the casino.... but i'd be blaming the slot tech that set up the machine.... from what i understand, before they hook it up to the network (for tracking purposes) they are supposed to play the damn thing for an hour or so and reset the machine.
- UncleFunk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0i would have stayed in the seat, called my wife, and had her be my gopher taking the vouchers, get the cash, and do it again... you could only do it twice and get away with it. Clear the bank account (only about $10k), get 100k, do it again and come back the next day to claim your mil...
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3"Casino officials determined the machine had a switch set for use in the Philippines, instead of the United States, instructing it to multiply credits by 10."
But WHY are credits multiplied by 10 in the Philippines? - MasterChi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I think we know they have different currency then us but still, i can make my way to the phillipines and leave with tons of money since there's is 10x the currency. Hell i can just get their money and use the slot machine and still come out on top, i dont even have to use US currency.
- nars, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2why in the Philippine's are credits multiplied by 10?
- bdub92, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2So my parents were right, money doesnt grow on trees, but i guess money grows in slot machines!
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1LOL note: even the finakl part of heir bush's misquote isw itself another misquote. The actual line, from that song by the '. The Who' is ''We won't get fooled again."
- jayripley123, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1that was a quick digg effect! mirror anyone?
- ohnnyj, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3that's awesome
/alex albrecht - stlcadet11, on 10/12/2007, -39/+7So... legally me, the 16 year old, could go to that machine and put in money and get 10x the amount. SWEET!

What is Digg?
