Two people in the US, differing points of view, side by side, behaving in a civilized manner. Neither one running to the nanny-state.
This has GOT to be unique. - dburka, on 10/12/2007, -1/+177The SFGate has the photo! http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/object/dip?o=2&f=/g/archive/2007/04/03/dip.DTL
- Charron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+157You drive by, not sure if you honked or not.
- thefirstenemy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+153As an impressionable youth who just saw that photo, I think I'd choose Satan over Jesus now.
- dominasian, on 10/12/2007, -4/+142religion aside her sign looks like an 8 year old drew it
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+133Three times for Spaghetti Monster?
- geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+94Honk once for Christ or honk twice for Satan... sounds like it's more work to support Satan. I always thought evil was the easier path, but in this case twice the effort is required.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -5/+88It's good to see Tom Green out and about in public again.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+67"What is that? It looks like a devil.' And what are parents going to say to that?"
Gee, I don't know, if you're going to teach your child about a religion maybe you should probably include the "Really Scary Parts" too, bucko. - alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+64I think the Devil picture looks cute.
It seems like it's all in good fun, though.
*honk* - geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+60It was just a joke. No need to take my comment so seriously. :P
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -2/+53Ads? What are these "ads"? I haven't seen an ad in a while.
Honk twice for AdBlock Plus - Seruphim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+52buried as inaccurate there no one in America accepts other peoples religions

- bani, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44"His sign is not bothering me, but I know it's bothering Jesus," Soden said.

"Serious question here, aren't Jesus and Satan both part of the Christian religion?"
If you read the article, the guy who posted the Satan sign said exactly that.
(from the article):
"Satan is part of the same religion as Christ, so it's a contrast, not a competing religion." - thesparrowband, on 10/12/2007, -5/+44perfect: christian old lady vs tattooed-pierced-black-tshirt-wearing-bearded youth. run for your lives, he could be the antichrist
- fober, on 10/12/2007, -11/+48Serious question here, aren't Jesus and Satan both part of the Christian religion?
- daysi, on 10/12/2007, -11/+47but lets not forget
christ: church, abstinence, george w bush
satan: booze, sex and rock n roll
you're telling me thats not worth working for? - musicaltech, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36"was expecting better text and graphics from the tattoo artist."
Personally, I think the satan drawing is sweet. From the perspective of someone who hires artists, I find the design simple, clean, and unique. I'd rock that on one of my shirts if I could get the design.
God I wish I could plug our site without feeling like a cheap whore... - YoshoKatana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Honk for better sound pollution regulations!
- rnwen2750, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32Oh yes. All non-Christians are just violent jack-asses.

- 06metzp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26"what ever happened to all the tech stuff on digg."
I'm pretty sure it went into the "Technology" section... - TizthePiz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25In regards to his tattoo parlor owning neighbor's sign:
"...children are going to pass by that sign and say, 'What is that? It looks like a devil.' And what are parents going to say to that?"
I would guess the parent's would have a conversation something to the degree of: "A devil?! Well, Timmy, you're not getting any more tattoos from him!" - TheCasablancan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Why do you feel like being militant? Does it fufill some need you have to not hear contradiction? Or do you simply deem this "hippy loser" to be beneath you.
I don't remember who it happened to, but this fellow gave a speech talking about atheism and such. He being an atheist was walking back to his car when two other fellows jumped him and said "We're christians, and we don't like what you've said."
He replied "If you're both christians, then forgive me."
They then beat him severely.
You give me the vibe of being that sort of person. Just be careful, you could always decide to bother the wrong fellow one day, and he might cut off your hands. - nestafett, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Bush owes Jesus an apology
- amoirae, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24HONK! HONK!
- DIGGerPhelpsND, on 10/12/2007, -13/+36Digg this comment up for Satan.
- vegasmacguy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26Honk Thrice for Darwin.
- dakaplan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22As Einstein put it, human knowledge has limits, but stupidity is unbounded...
- xVern, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23He came back from the dead. I don't like zombies.
- aaronwolfe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21It's bothering Jesus? That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Dude had nails driven through his wrists and ankles, and she thinks a cute devil sign is bothering him?
- Trumps, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Funny how she doesn't want a child to ask about the devil, but what if a muslim kid walks by and asks about Jesus? Guess thats ok huh?
- jonathantneal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20The part of this SFGate blurb that bothers me (not at all your problem dburka) is: "He thought it smacked of religious intolerance". No ... no he didn't, he is actually much more intelligent and fun than that. Let's just read part of what he says; "What she does inside her business is her business. I would not tell her to get rid of the sign." In fact, "Satan is part of the same religion as Christ, so it's a contrast, not a competing religion." I mean, booya and kudos to you Mr. Young. SFGate, you can burn in purgatory! Trying to incite a war, I mean, Holy Satan, can't we all just get along?
- SLP1111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18no no, easter peep*
- nubnub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17If people kept honking I would put up that sign so they would shut the hell up
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -3/+18NO WAY!!!!11
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21I think a lot of people become atheist because they're tired of "christians" shoving their beliefs down their throat. More than anything it just makes me pisses off when they tell me I'm going to hell because I haven't been saved.
- kabinett, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14My favorite part? His sign is not bothering her...
but it's bothering _Jesus_. - HunterTV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13"Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!"
- rnwen2750, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12And can you imagine hearing all those honks while you are trying to do a tattoo?!! Bzzzz - honk - oh shi**!
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I'm gonna honk for Christ twice!
- davidrools, on 10/12/2007, -14/+26 was expecting better text and graphics from the tattoo artist.

"It appears to me (whether rightly or wrongly) that direct arguments against christianity and theism produce hardly any effect on the public; and freedom of thought is best promoted by the gradual illumination of men's minds which follows from the advance of science." [Darwin]
"If we believe absurdities, we shall commit atrocities." [Voltaire]
"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism." [Einstein]
"Faith means not wanting to know what is true." [Nietzsche]
"I cannot believe in the immortality of the soul.... No, all this talk of an existence for us, as individuals, beyond the grave is wrong. It is born of our tenacity of life – our desire to go on living … our dread of coming to an end." [Edison]
"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma." [Lincoln]
"Religion is a byproduct of fear. For much of human history, it may have been a necessary evil, but why was it more evil than necessary? Isn't killing people in the name of God a pretty good definition of insanity?" [Arthur C. Clarke]
"Religions are all alike – founded upon fables and mythologies." [Thomas Jefferson]
"Say what you will about the sweet miracle of unquestioning faith, I consider a capacity for it terrifying and absolutely vile." [Kurt Vonnegut]
"Religion is based . . . mainly on fear . . . fear of the mysterious, fear of defeat, fear of death. Fear is the parent of cruelty, and therefore it is no wonder if cruelty and religion have gone hand in hand. . . . My own view on religion is that of Lucretius. I regard it as a disease born of fear and as a source of untold misery to the human race." [Bertrand Russell] - garamon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13***** THE RIAA!
