- drwaterside, on 07/23/2008, -0/+16I feel sorry for the baby already
- lesleye, on 07/23/2008, -0/+16that poor child. Will he EVER forgive his parents for that? $100? Pathetic.
- AmyVernon, on 07/23/2008, -0/+15that's insane... giving up the right to name your baby for $100? those parents ... well, i won't say what i really think...
- inactive, on 07/23/2008, -0/+12Babies, brothels, and gas who knew they would ever be tied together!
- dystra, on 07/24/2008, -1/+12Selling of your kids name(which he has to live with for the rest of his life) for a week or two of gas, selfish.
- Tawm, on 07/24/2008, -0/+8A brothel run by a husband and wife, now that's a good family business!
- clonkid, on 07/24/2008, -1/+8You know their son is looking forward to Take Your Kid To Work Day.
- AntBing, on 07/24/2008, -2/+8He can change his name to anything he wants after the age 18. Before that he only needs a guardians consent to do it. After the parents get the $100 what is to stop them from changing it to something a bit more normal?
- TRScheel, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5That and its not an entirely strange name. Its not like they named him Gaylord Focker
- natsfan, on 07/24/2008, -1/+5Daughter, probably not as much
- diggopolous, on 07/24/2008, -1/+4Well, for a few gallons I got to have the honor of a child with my namesake.
Sincerely,

- saisumimen, on 07/24/2008, -2/+5OR IS SHE? ;p
- Quicksilver4648, on 07/24/2008, -2/+4...I know... ...I know... Your mad that you didn't think of it first too.
- Hosalabad, on 07/24/2008, -1/+3I donate blood anyways, but that raffle sounds pretty hot. I hope they are giving tix away at our blood drive at work next week.
I do think it's pretty disturbing to name a kid something for a $100 gas card. Saving $100 won't even break even with the average labor and delivery co-pay at a hospital. - enterthefoo, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1If you read this as "from giving up the right to name their children to stealing from day-care centers to DONATE blood." It's a much more horrifying story...
- onClipEvent, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1all these stories about rising gas-prices only remind people how much they're spending...Gas is such an inelastic product (at this point) that if the news just stopped reporting it, we'd all think that $4.50 is the norm and pay like we used to few years ago.
- Eavesdropping, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1We need some competition here instead of these boring give aways and baby name exchanges. Gas Gladiators, American Gas Idol, I'm sure Ryan Seacrest could think of something to exploit.
- SolidBones, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2A $50 gas card for going to mass?
I'm not buying this story comparing it to Jesus and the wine. - leerayIG88, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1"There will be blood"
- lefthandpisces, on 07/24/2008, -0/+110 bucks says that baby falls on drugs and gambling debts when he grows up.
- Zippo, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Compared to Europe and developing nations, gas in the US is cheap.
- Br3ach, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Anyone else see that Mad Max 2: Road Warrior future coming at us like a freight train....
- tehknotte, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1isn't that shoot 'em up?
- pinklatexblog, on 08/22/2008, -0/+0or it could just all turn out like it did in a boy named sue.
- Ultrace, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Anyone who basically lets someone else buy their child's name (regardless of amount) should lose the right to have the child. Unfortunately (in the case of no restrictions on having kids, at least) this isn't China.
- 1manshow, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Idiots.
- Thuktun, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Catholics around the nation fly into a rage as a young man walks out of mass with a communion wafer, accusing him of a "blasphemous act of sacrilege".

That man, and those who stick up for him, get death threats. Yet here we have a Catholic church choosing to hold a drawing for a $50 gas card during mass.
I guess it's okay as long as you don't think about the gas card while receiving the Host. - Chordonblue, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1No blood for oil! Unless it's yours anyway. :>
- Millsee, on 07/24/2008, -2/+1That conjured a horrible image.
I must stop watching horror flicks. - dystra, on 07/24/2008, -2/+1actually, replace selfish with "priceless"
- mrgodai, on 07/24/2008, -3/+2I will sell my soul to the devil for life time free gas!
oh and, the title of the article sucks. - dankreek, on 07/24/2008, -1/+0Having children at all: selfish.
- Rudegar, on 07/24/2008, -3/+1unless he change it
- sgtawol, on 07/24/2008, -3/+1Dupe
