- neilcreek, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5I never understood why the religious even consider this an argument. If they have to resort to saying "You're just as bad as us!" as a powerful retort, that's hardly casting them in a good light! Is fundamentalism okay for them but not anyone else?
It's completely beside the point of course. As Dawkins has said, and I paraphrase "Don't confuse passion for fundamentalism". - sapient, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Oh yes the... I know you are but what am I. Seriously people isn't it time we stopped giving ***** a chance to permeate society the way they do?
Here's the difference between an angry Christian and an angry Sapient...
Angry Christian: believes in invisible friend, and he can't logically defend his point of view
Angry Sapient: Has no invisible friends, and can logically defend my point of view.
Anyone see the big gaping difference? It's the difference between thinking the Earth is spherical and the Earth is a square and then saying... "yeah but you're just like me because you think it's a shape." Such moronic analogies should not be tolerated by anyone ever. - HereticChick, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2I really enjoyed this article. Kelly is spot on!
- Hoobahopp, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Great stuff! I had only short time reading it, but it seemed like the jerk used all the tricks in the book... and was nailed.
- ronindog, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Great article. Another tactic they have started using is the term “militant atheists”, obviously in a bid to inspire more fear and hatred of rational people. Apparently if atheists speak up, write articles or publish books we are militant!! An Australian archbishop recently had an article in the newspaper asking Christian schools to strengthen their religious teaching to fight against moral decline. Among the evils children face are Darwinism, homosexuality and militant atheists! Obviously writing a book is as bad as flying a plane into a building.
- Hambydammit, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Awesome stuff as always, Kelly. I think it's damn funny that all these blowhards are going to get reamed by "The Female." Keep up the great blogs!
- atheistnetwork, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1Wonderfully written. Great points all around.
- ickybod, on 11/15/2007, -0/+0Isn't it interesting how a christian can only make their arguments through ignorance or dishonest tactics? I hope your future book exposes every tactic so they have nothing left to come back at us with. And when they decide to attack your book, you'll have a whole new book to attack them with. Woo-hoo! More money for Kelly! :D
