- jsd8cc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+160Isn't this common knowledge by now?
- supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -8/+120I would never speak offensively of an important figure or entity in relation to a true religion.
That said, Xenu can suck my balls. - LingLing1337, on 10/10/2007, -1/+87Inside that battery is something familiar. A battery. And while you may think that all batteries are the same, think about this. When Xenu and Tom Cruise had thousands of thetans to imprison, they only trusted Duracell.
- TroubleInMind, on 10/10/2007, -36/+97How is Xenu any friggin weirder than these stories?
About 125 years ago, a unemployed loser was all butthurt cause he didn't have any money. Instead of getting a job, he said an angel appeared him and told him to dig some ***** up in his yard. He did, and apparently the ***** said he, Joseph Smith, had been appointed by god as his personal press agent. And people believed him.
About 1200 years ago, another guy was all butthurt cause everyone thought he was crazy. He went away for a while. He came back and said god had talked to him in a cave and appointed him, Mohammed, as his personal press agent. And people believed him.
About 2000 years ago, some chick got knocked up and blamed it on god. Some people thought her baby was cool. The kid went away for a long time to go do something nobody knows about. He came back and said he was god's son and personal press agent. And people believed him. - futureisours, on 10/10/2007, -1/+57Thank you! That just saved me 100,000 bucks in Scientology training!
- atdigg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+57From what I understand Xenu is the villain in their beliefs so if you say "Xenu can suck my balls" is like you say to Christians "The devil can suck my balls" you hardly offend them, you should say "long live Xenu!"
- N10E, on 10/10/2007, -2/+53There was a small poll at my university of several hundred people, and over half of the people thought that Scientology was being Christian and "believing" Evolution.
I don't know if this says much about the public but it showed that many folks at my university are highly uninformed - 10001110101, on 10/10/2007, -4/+52Buried as spam. *****, I am sick of blogs that just cut & paste from other blogs.. And dammit msaleem, why not post the direct link to xenu.net?
- NerdyNinja, on 10/10/2007, -3/+49Dude, Xenu's prison is powered by an energizer battery!
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -15/+55Aliens are perfectly logical. A child of a god is about as likely as unicorns and elves.
- tradwolley, on 10/10/2007, -1/+39Any religion founded by a science fiction writer, involving evil space aliens, has got to make you stop and wonder. Especially when the writer is reported to have made the comment that "to make real money you need to form a religion."
- 4degrees, on 10/10/2007, -8/+42south park version of the story.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd3Ue_Iz6wc - dallascorbin504, on 10/10/2007, -1/+28Pure Blasphemy! wait until Tom Cruise gets ahold of this article. he will fly(physically on his own) to where ever you are and ask you what your crimes are over and over and over again.
Scientologists are so....GLIB! - FutureGuy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+28long live Xenu :)
- borninda818, on 10/10/2007, -6/+32only to south park viewers and people under the age of 25...the rest either don't know ***** about it or simply know that Scientology=bad.
- orion846, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26this secret was revealed like 3 years ago, on mainstream television.
- thedarkrabbit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24My bad... thought we were talking about Lucy Lawless and "Xena"... boy do I feel silly
- frsrblch, on 10/10/2007, -4/+26This is Digg... WE KNOW.
Put it on the news, so that people who don't know may have a laugh. - geekfrom99, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24and yet you still did...
- RiggenBlaque, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23wow the story makes even less sense in german!
- CCB0x45, on 10/10/2007, -10/+29Hmm, an invisible being creating the entire universe in a few days but spending the majority of the time on earth so that he could let people hang out for a while till he brought his son around with an immaculate birth so that he could teach everyone about the true god, and would do so through some magic and coming back to life. Sounds about the same level of reality as aliens getting blown up by bombs a volcano.
- adunlevie, on 10/10/2007, -5/+24how many people are going to chime in and say Scientology and Christianity are the same? Come on people, lets be honest with ourselves here.
I'm pretty atheistic myself, but I dont for even an instant delude myself into believing that Christianity is as out there as something like Scientology.
Unless, of course, you see the whole giving alms to the poor thing as equivalent to being charged hundreds of thousands of dollars to be a member of the religion. Last time i checked, Christianity didnt force anyone into anything, except for trying desperately to be a good person.
Ya'll clearly like South Park, seeing as a bunch of people thought that they should spam the comment board, and mention that they too saw the south park about scientology. so, how about the south park about Mormonism? remember the last line that the little mormon boy delivers to stan? something like "my religion may be kind of a joke, but it inspires great values, and if you cant do anthing better than make fun of it, screw you."
Christianity may have some crazy things goin on, and some weird people in positions of power, but dont put it on the same shelf as scientology.....thats just ignorant and stupid.
oh ya, and if you want to spam me, try and actually have a conversation with me about it first, and not just start flaming. - TrevorBelmont, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Everyone seems to like having a good laugh at CoS. I think that it might be dangerous to laugh them off. It marginalizes them; it makes them seem comically impotent. I believe that they are too dangerous to laugh off. Check this out. ***WARNING: VERY disturbing images***

I know YTMND isn't the most logical place to look for information, but if you're a doubter, look into it's claims. They check out.

Scar, scary stuff. - GuyeNoir, on 10/10/2007, -15/+31I disagree. This stuff is much much more ridiculous and less believable than the fairy tales the mainstream religions preach. And I'm an atheist who already thinks mainstream religions are superstitious nonsense.
- loneBoat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Only to level 3 thetans.
- ph3rny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIv9SAr-Zrw&mode=related&search=
I think this is what you are looking for - ngmcs8203, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Add to that Digg regulars over the last few years.
- MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17If the message is good, but the story is crap, why continue to advocate religion? Call it a philosophy and get on with it. No need to worship philosophy, just live it.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18No, the problem is the people to whom it's being taught.
Judeo/Christian ideas began thousands of years ago and were conceived of and taught to a people who had no knowledge of science, no knowledge of how the world really works. These were a simple, superstitious people who were completely willing to believe this so-called explanation for that which they still had no explanation. So the Judeo/Christian mythology perpetuated based on ignorance. The people of that time simply didn't know any better. But the mythology became ingrained in people and it continues to be taught today simply because of tradition.
We, now, know better. You try to start a mythology like that now, and people as a whole aren't going to fall for it. And that's what's happening with Scientology. Had L. Ron Hubbard lived 500 years ago, then Scientology would be a much bigger faith by now. But as it is, people know better. They see that it's ***** stories perpetuated by an out of work sci-fi writer.
Scientology and Christianity are equally absurd. The only difference is the time in which they began. - unjustend, on 10/10/2007, -13/+26Because he said that Both scientology and Christianity were stupid stories you call him a scientologiest? I'm confused.
- 4degrees, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14sorry, my bad... here is an english version.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIv9SAr-Zrw - DaffyDuck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12"Okay, do they steal your money?" -
YES - skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS REALLY BELIEVE.
- neodorian, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16Well, let's see, my parents taught me that an invisible sky wizard created the world and used to speak to people in dreams getting them to do all kinds of things, not to mention that if I ate this dude's flesh and drank his blood I would live forever. Sounds like a bunch of zombies to me.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12The question "Do you feel you could leave at any time?" is a moot one. The question should be "Do you feel that there will be any negative side effects if you leave?"
I'll give you an example: Jehovah's Witnesses.
Yes, you can leave at any time. But if you do, everyone you know and love will disown you completely. All of your friends and family will turn their backs on you and act as though you do not exist. You will be come worse than the worst sinner in their minds. So, yes, you can leave, bu you will pay a very high cost for doing so. For most people, the thought of loosing everyone they care about is just too great of a loss to bear and they stay simply to preserve their relationships.
That's how cults work. They don't use chains and bars and cages to prevent people from leaving. They use psychological manipulation. They make you feel like you don't have a choice; they make you feel like leaving would be worse than death and that it's a choice you would never make. It's very very subtle that they do this. - TheG2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Best comment ever.
- Godlike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10There are no shortages of scientology horror stories. Oh, better be careful, I might get sued!
rofl and lol... and kek...
scientology = kooky - kuzotz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11..... gotta love it in German..................
Yea that is an ***** thing to do. - honeymustardn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9That sounds like an accurate description of LOTR though. Yes, there are tons of sub plots and more details, but that's what happens.
- tHePeOPle, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Well, at least I don't have to pay massive quantities of my money, lose contact with my family, and revere L. Ron Hubbard as a GOD in order to find out that unicorns and elves aren't real.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10You were there, trying to believe Scientology for over a month? What a douche.
- tHePeOPle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8The main difference is that one story you have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to read on a secret ship in the ocean. The other is handed out for free.
- Darmog, on 10/10/2007, -7/+15I'm probably going to get buried for this, but the fact that people can believe in such an utterly ludicrous religion shows that religion is entirely a creation of a human race that, as a whole, has a deep seated need to believe in something greater than themselves.
Religion fulfills that need quite nicely... even if it does happen to be an utter fabrication. - zip000, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10True...religion?!
- jeremymccurdy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I love you.
- michaelinnotts, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11Those stories are ridiculous, but nowhere near as outlandish as the Scientology story. All offend common sense, but only the Scientology story contradicts scientific knowledge in place before the religion began.
- BillGod, on 10/10/2007, -11/+18The story is no less believable than an invisible guy who lives in the sky who can just point his finger breaking all laws of physics and make this appear from nothing. Anyone who follows any religion needs to do some reading maybe pickup a science book every once in a while. I hate to be marked as spam but if anyone gets a chance to read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins... check it out.
- tHePeOPle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Oh, nice... thanks for ruining it for me.
- robschraer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7And what do we do with witches?..... BURN THEM!!!
