- polencia, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18transforms from robot to dissapointment. awesome.
- TripcodeMel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Hey, geniuses: His name is Gold Lightan.
He turns into a LIGHTER, not a RECTANGLE. Sorry if toy manufacturers haven't been able to defy physics so they can A) Cram a lighter in there and B) Make a proper transforming Getter Robo toy. - Ndiggnation, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17He clearly transforms into a cube of energon..
- dheaddy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11The phrase "Autobots roll out" has never been more ironic
- wiihateeveryone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11He's right you know, http://www.collectiondx.com/node/1147.
"Gold Lightan comes from the show Gold Fighter Gold Lightan (Ougon Senshi Gorudo Raitan - 黄金戦士ゴールドライタン), which aired from 1981 to 1982. The story revolves around Hiro, a young boy who fights evil with his robot buddy from another dimension, Gold Lightan. While stuck on Earth, Gold Lightan assumes the form as a lighter. You know, to blend in. Apparently every 5th grader in Japan in 1981 was a smoker, so nobody would notice Hiro carrying a solid gold lighter to school each day."
however i dont think it actually works as a lighter, if it did i may have to start smoking again. - heavystone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11TOTALY MISSLEADIN!
Read this instead: The thing makes sence now...

- uptwolait, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Well, couldn't it turn into like a bug or something?
Classic. - str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Holy crap ...he disappeared.
- Optimaximal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6That was Gobots... You fail at childhood
- AmusedToDeath, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6You guys sure do get your panties in a wad when people say "legos" instead of "lego". It's a product name. Who cares?
- Optimaximal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Don't worry about Perceptor though, he was gay.
- tinkertoy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Couldn't he transform into something more useful...like an ottoman? End table?
- Seifey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4LEGO is the plural of LEGO.
- jizzimmy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I saw this while I was in Japan this summer and it definitely took the form of a lighter.
- cultist667, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Is he a frigidaire or a maytag?
- Cyhwuhx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3.::: Also, the Go-Bots' Rock Lords wipe the floor with Lightan in terms of apparent uselessness.
- TypeEE, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2He transform into a cigarette lighter. It's not a box. This is a classic cartoon that is about 5 years before the first transformer. It's figure has become collector's item. You can try to search it on ebay and you will find that even metal toy figures are quite expensive.
So the story is something like a boy picked up a lighter which to find out he can transform in to a giant robot to save the world - moskaudancer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Is that Karl Rove?!
- pixelfox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm pretty sure that is what we call a rectangular prism, not a cube, slick.
- Slyer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I remember my action figure that transformed into McDonalds fries that was cooler than this. It even came with burger and drink and actual chips.
Cost =< $4 - cnldelta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2heavystone's link confirmed my first impressions about the transformer resembling a cigarette lighter. Its a shame it doesn't actually transform into a working lighter.
- antdude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2An ant! Insect though. :P
- Lasereth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Since this is so amazingly boring and stupid, why is it on the front page? Why do articles that are talking about how boring something is on the front page? Do I really need to SEE and EXPERIENCE the most boring subjects on the Internet? I come to Digg to see something interesting and I get the "the most boring transformer ever" staring at me.
- hirak99, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"Cuboid"
- hokie47, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't get it
- superfusion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1About as awesome as when Korn turned into corn.
No, wait, that was cooler. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If it was rounded it could be a great butt plug
- Optimaximal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Double Dealer?
- nanboya, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Believe it or not, I've got one of these in gold from my childhood days. Must be circa late 70's or early early 80's?
- frenchkick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2no the worst transformer is the one that turns into another robot
- GMorgan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Megatron was cool. Trust me he increased support for your second amendment.
- mishsquish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I actually think that's pretty cool. I like simple shapes. There's something.. defined.. about them. I'd definitely buy one of those. Maybe not for 50$, though..
- earthwormzim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Anyone remember "Rock Lords"? Yes, they were robots that turned into....rocks. LOL! And I used to love these things when I was younger.
http://www.ikp.uni-koeln.de/~scholl/rock/rock/good/granite.html (I actually had this one). - thinkart, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3dugg down, cause....can't you just let some people "get it" and some people not get it. i hate when people state the obvious. of course the only reason these comments were funny was because of BIG but why did you have to ruin it by saying that.
- EricPeters, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Looks like a fridge to me.
- TexanPsycho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Your spelling, however, doesn't make sense. There's a button for it, how can nobody use it?
- bugsy187, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1how about transformers for girls?
- meow2kir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Holy cow, you guys have no idea how cool this CUBE is.... Gold Lightan is from the 80's and he is one of the 1st gen transformer pioneer
Dammit you guys are insulting Megatron's grandpa, he is coming to kick your ass... - knobtwiddler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i dont care
- fluidfoundation, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I take back my comment. It turns out he is a lighter! Most un-lazy transformer ever!
- azAZ09, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Maybe now transformers fans will understand how I feel about all of them.
No wait.. - astrotrain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Look out... Michale Bay may make a direct to rental movie using this bot..
- solidwhitedevil, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I don’t understand the logic, but somehow transforming into a rock is more interesting than transforming into a pseudo platinum lego refrigerator. I guess with the advancement of time and technology, we expect more than this…..thing.
- blsdavecc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Now if they could only make a transformer that curls up into the fetal position and wets itself we'd be all set.
- shaka776, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I know!
I think it turned into a server rack :) - badassninja, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Sweet.
