Can someone post by what Scrabble rules this game was played? Under the official Scrabble rules I didn't think that names, abreviations and foreign words were allowed.
I didn't think you could use the same word twice (NO). Vrow is not in the dictionary either...
Funny there's a scrabble article on digg. I had not played Scrabble in 10 years and we decided to play just the other day. My cousin busted out SUICIDAL the other day for a double-triple. Only 167 points though. It's obviously no Flatfish...
I'm relatively sure that "ZAS" is not a word. It does not appear in any dictionaries that I've looked at, nor does it appear in the 3 letter word list linked above. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that "ZA" isn't a valid word either.
when you're playing scrabble with english snobs it looses it's appeal. i like my rules of the game better. the better your word score, the more your opposing team has to drink.
Many words you see in Scrabble, you won't recognize...for instance, "AA" is a word in the Scrabble dictionary.
In a related story, my wife once successfully spelled QUIZzES on a triple word score...that got her a lot of points.
I remember playing an old computer game of Scrabble about 10 years ago. I was winning until the computer came up with ASPHYXIATE across two triple word scores that was worth 272.
How was QUIXOTRY worth 630 though? I cannot see how they came up with that number.
I live less than a mile away from where this happend. My church is right across the street from the church this took place at. My family's ski club has their christmas party in the same room this took place in. I had no idea there was a scrabble master in my town. and... I don't care...
Once you start allowing seemingly absurd letter combinations, you lose what makes scrabble fun. There is a reason you don't use abbreviations and exotic language slang.
To all those claiming that all the words are not valid. Remember, if the other player does not challenge the word it stays on the board and the points count, real word or not.
