  • jazmatician, on 05/14/2008, -0/+5OK, people. Let's take a step back and take a look at the dress code guidelines which are visible in the story at 1:30 -- but never mentioned by the reporters. Nope, they decided this was about the school locking out a poor girl from her Senior Prom and any FACTS that don't go along with that thesis are ignored.
    1. Only one inch of the midsection can be shown. *BZZZT* FAIL.
    5. Proper undergarments must be worn. *BZZZT* FAIL
    This is not something she was suprised by. This is from a form that is clearly intended to be signed when the tickets are bought. She wants to go to the prom, she MUST obey the rules. She's not an adult, she's 17. The rules are there for a reason.

  • mysedai, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2No denying that she looked good in the dress, but there were guidelines given that said said no more than 1 inch of midriff and that all appropriate undergarments must be worn. That was way more than an inch and there's no way she was wearing wearing a bra with that. The dress code was circulated before hand, so she knew the dress wasn't going to meet the guidelines. It's not like some biddy at the door just decided the dress was too showy and made the decision to deny her entrance.

And aside from my distaste for the dress and the bad parenting, how could anyone think showing that much skin would be permissible at any school function?
