- Fejerro, on 10/11/2007, -1/+808,177 stolen pieces of mail = two counts of mail theft by a postal employee?
Go big or go home, I guess. - cconger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+73So what about those 600 other packages that weren't DVDs?
"9 times out of 10 its an electric shaver... but, every once and a while... its a dildo" - themayorpwns, on 10/11/2007, -2/+62if i were him i would of delivered the dvds a day late after ripping them at home :)
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+31Hello Newman...
- AzleGamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+28You know, I always wondered if this sorta thing ever happened at the post office.
- theEmpiric, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27in this circumstance it shall be referred to as A dildo never YOUR dildo.
- LGod, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23"Postal Service employee since 1974" ... Well, it only took 34 years to catch him.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21If you were gonna commit insider mail theft... couldn't you steal more than DVDs you might get a buck a piece for without the proper packaging?
- aph33x, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1630+ years working for the Postal Service, this guy must have had a RIDICULOUS pension built up. Toss it all away for some free DVDs I spose.
- hgb5150, on 10/11/2007, -3/+17Just think of how many he would have stolen if Netflix and Blockbuster delivered pr0n.
- xboxlive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14would've or would have.
- rstarr, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13So this is the bastard who stole Super Paper Mario from my Gamefly.
I was wondering why it was taking so long... - wildfire, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Well we can rule out that they were self-help DVDs.
- DrGamez, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Why?
- Gnasche, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7So, if you burn 7,434 DVDs, it's 37,170 years in prison and a $1,858,500,000 fine. However, if you just steal them and view the legal copies, it's 3 years probation and a $4,000 fine. Hmm...sounds like a new strategy for people.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Some eat paste as a child, some say "would of", others type "looser", some have an extra chromosome. If they doesn't no it buy now, they never'll.
- bossm4n, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8He's still a helluva lot better than my mailman. At least he showed up once in a while.
- EvilCan, on 02/26/2008, -5/+11Oh Jesus, and I thought the 34 Bush impeachment stories a day weren't enough, now we have this ***** spilling into all the stories.
- fmorel90, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Better than all the iPhone stories though...at least those have dropped.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Cool! Now how about we go after the ***** stealing my gamefly games next!
- hypnotoad32, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Maybe he didn't rip them because hadn't stolen a 500GB hard drive yet and had nowhere to put them.
- venom8599, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5My mother worked for USPS, and one of her coworkers was caught stealing money and other things out of the mail. IIRC she got a few years in jail.
- mt066, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5See, thieves? If you would just do your thievery in moderation, you just might get away with it. But all of you do stupid things like try to steal a THOUSAND DVD's. Just take a few every once in a while.
- Kardde, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Psh. He could have saved himself a hassle if he'd bought a DVD burner like the rest of us.
- imkrazy182, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Wow, and I thought torrenting was bad. Literally stealing the DVD has less consequences then just downloading it.
- a1a04824, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6This scum bag steals over 8,000 Movie DVDs and gets a $4,000 slap on the wrist. I say, sick the MPAA on his ass and get him a real fine.
- Cwo655321, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6sweet! mine were getting stolen all the time until i started dropping them in the box on different days.
I'm the only one that steals dvd's, got it?! - cef2268, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6He probably didn't start until recently. DVDs sucked back in '74.
- moudig, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I suggest death penalty for people like him.
- darlyn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Have 'em deliver to a friend's house or your job.
- napsack, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5cuz huhu he's ghey you know hahaha..
/sarcasm - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Guy had 32 years with the postal service. Union protected position, probably pulling down big cash for doing little if anything.
Way to piss away a big fat retirement pension. - macgyver1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Hmm a little stereotypical there??!
Lets not blanket races with stereotypes please. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3...I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Anthony Zuniga of Houston is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Zuniga's sentence that required him to spend a year and a-half in prison. My decision to commute his prison sentence leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Zuniga.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I hear you actually had to rewind them before mailing them back! How uncivilized!
- Cwo655321, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4i think dvd's were a sure thing, with them being labeled and all.
- earth2monkieboi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Bush should pardon 'em. That's all I gotta say.
- balloot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3So it's $4000 if you steal 6,000 DVDs? That should teach other postal workers a lesson. Don't steal DVDs or we will charge you...$0.66 a piece!
If I were a postal worker and I wanted to quit I would just steal stuff until they fire me. You get a great discount rate as long as you are willing to serve probation. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I remember when this was news, months ago.
- Andytom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3fight club I think
- rodon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is probably how my gamefly account managed to be canceled. The only time my returned games went missing were when I returned them in the blue mailbox in front of my local post office. Gamefly said take it up with the USPS and the USPS said it was gamefly's fault. Either way, it wasn't my fault my returned games went missing. Now I can't have a Gamefly account till I move to another freakin' address.
- po43292, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Boycott Netflix until they offer the goods! *keeps netflix subscription*
- Revan01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What was that from again? i cant seem to remember the name
- xelloss, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Its in the top 100 he probably has a lot of dupe discs.
- MacGyver2210, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hm, I think a DVD costs more than a couple cents...even for NetFlix.
Plus, he got 2 counts - so it would at LEAST be $40 - TheTaoOfBill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Until someone invents a home transporter postal workers will always be needed.
- ChristianMagic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Well, at least he did this rather than going postal...
- TheClone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Perhaps he was dugg down because most diggers realize how stupid it would be to work at the USPS _just_ to steal porn from a 20 dollar a month service.
- merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Turns out there are a lot of people trying to sell DVDs online without any packaging, for way more than a buck a piece. Look around amazon's used DVD listings, and you'll see tons.
I guess some of 'em may be legit -- not everyone keeps their DVDs in the original cases -- but I wouldn't be surprised if at least some were stolen and/or pirated. - Revan01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1what movie is that from?
