Maybe it's just me, but I was able to hit the Mercury News page without that Signup page when this first got on the front page...but now that it's been up awhile (I went back to see if I could google the kid's name and find better pictures of the Psycho Patrol car) I am confronted by the sign up. I'm guessing this is just a tactic they use on pages that get alot of traffic? Trying to drum up registrations? Lame.

Although this is the funny part. It is on a 1995 Dodge Caravan. :) That state does not reimburse you for a vehicle if you are a volunteer ER, but they do reimburse you for all the accessories required. It is my daily driver, so that is why I decided to slap all the hardware on it.
I also will be crusing down the highway at 70-80MPH and laugh my ass off at the cars slamming their brakes trying to slow down. I laugh my ass off and tell myself “people are freaking out because of a minivan.” :)
No front facing red lights. Just amber and green. Green is the color volunteer’s use in California.

The Scarlett uniform does have red and black, but nobody would mistake that for the uniform that Kirby is wearing in the picture, not to mention that its not the typical or normal RCMP uniform (i've only seen RCMP in that uniform maybe a dozen times in my life, versus im sure over 1000 in their normal dark blue/ light blue uniform).
