- taylorhayward, on 10/12/2007, -1/+71"They were arrested for behavior that was suspicious and disturbing"
So is suspicious and disturbing an orange or red threat level? I lost my refrigerator magnet. - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+39It would have been funnier if the police had shot one of them, and used the "I thought they were real zombies" defence
- stuma9000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38Police state. What happened to that freedom the 'terrorists' were so jealous of?
- wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -4/+36Zombie guys "Braaaaaains, braaaaaains"
Cops, "Doooonuts, doonuts" - Kohath, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32In Minnesota, lots of things are illegal. If they weren't, people would go around freely making their own choices without regard to what the "leaders" think is the right thing. Can't have that.
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30I, for one, am glad our law officrers are so able to protect us from the threat of bomb-toting zombies.
- evildeadxsp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30"Harteau also said police were on high alert because they'd gotten a bulletin about men who wear clown makeup while attacking and robbing people in other states."
Oh, so they were looking for clowns, but found zombies. (i kind of want to visit minneappolis now)
this should hit the daily show... funny story. - lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26I've got a metal suit case like the ones that the terrorists had on Team America: World Police. I don't think I'll be taking it to Minneapolis anytime soon.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26the fifth person down cracks me up. She didnt even need make up.
- notfaded1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Night of the living dead with WMD. Pretty funny stuff. Not sure what they could really hold these people on seems like its some kind of modern art or Goth thing.
- fredkreuger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18It has been proven, through numerous University studies, that indeed, all zombies are of the homosexual persuasion. I did a study, I know.
- n0sferatu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23Would that make you feel big and tough?
- dhakbar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18More likely, you'd claim on the internet that you have the capacity to kick anyone's ass, which I find rather doubtful.
- splammo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14" Police also said the group was uncooperative and intimidated people with their "ghoulish" makeup."
I bet they were uncooperative because they were being arrested for a completely bogus reason.
And who were they intimidating with their goulish makeup? little kids? - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16My guess is the police brought them back to the station - the one place they knew the zombies couldn't get any BrAiNs...
- Araya213, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Be sure to wear your bullet proof vest, and don't carry a bag, cuz zombies always carry bombs in bags.
- chad78, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13A bomb looks like a backpack with wires coming out of it?
Why do all wires equal bombs? I mean, if I were to carry a bomb somewhere, I'd tuck the wires into my backpack - or, hell, spend 5 minutes cutting the wires to fit the bomb, so they aren't hanging out in the first place. I might even make a litle box to keep the wires in so it wouldn't be easy for the cops to "cut the red one" right before the BIG DIGITAL CLOCK counts down to 0. Or even better, I wouldn't put a clock on it, or I'd make it go off at 2:19 instead of 0. - evolseven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I dont get it.. why does it bother you that they want to dress up like zombies.. does it harm you in any way.. I mean I can understand if there like "hey, lets go have a zombie part on panic's front lawn", then yah you can hate them for having a zombie party on your front lawn.. but I guess I dont understand intolerance like that.. let people be, or just hate away whichever suits you really.. but its just intolerant on so many levels.. I guess I don't care what others do as long as it doesn't affect me.. and I dont understand others who care so much about other peoples business.
- loveandrockets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14The 'suspicious' bag contained a backpack stereo. I bet the wires were speaker wires. The people who made this arrest are idiots of the highest caliber. I wonder if they should have this power being so stupid.
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17I bet if they had dressed like Nazis the cops wouldn't have stopped them; even if they were carrying working assault rifles and dragging a cannister with "Ebola" written on it.
Cop: Now there's a couple of clean cut Republican youth. Makes me proud to be an American. Say, you've got any more of that Crystal Meth we took from that homeless hippie we beat to a pulp yesterday? I love me some of that ol' Crystal Meth--almost as much as beating hippies. God bless America! *Snort* - misinformation, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13"Members of the group could face lesser charges like disorderly conduct, police said."
Seems like they have nothing and they'll get slapped with disorderly conduct so the cops don't get slapped with charges for overreaching their boundaries. Seems to be their favorite one to use, and one that is impossible to disprove in court. Cops word versus yours. - easycheez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Zombies must unite and march on Washington!!! They will take your right to display your eccentric lifestyles!
- Zipp425, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12The dave chappell quote made the whole story that much better
- aiken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12@chad78, I think you just won a free trip to Cuba. Enjoy your stay in gitmo!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11kinda scary that would put them on "high alert"
even scarier is there are gangs of clowns beating people up all over the country and the damn clown sympathizing MSM is keeping me in the dark. The grocer here was out of whip cream, now i am really scared. I just hope they aren't undead clowns. - anevilscientist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12zombies arent like furries, unless you want to put all people who wear costume being like furries. Well, thats the only aspect which zombies actually are like furries. I've never known a person to dress as a zombie in order to mate with another zombie. According to Peter Jackson's zombie classic Dead Alive, there would be litters of zombie children running around because of the six to nine hour incubation time.
- bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I'm not sure if people remember this, but back when Michael Moore was doing Awful Truth on TV he did a piece on police entry tests.
A man wanted to become a police officer, but was repeatedly denied entry to the force because his test scores were "too high"... they recommended he find another job more suited to him...
They basically want people with IQ's of 100 or so for the police force, and if you did an IQ test on the street beat police force I'm sure you'd find this confirmed.
edit: found this: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_56314.html - yarsrevenge, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Sorry folks you can't be "Arrested" for suspicious behavior. They were Detained and then arrested on an essentialy bogus charge. If any of them can afford a lawyer, and if the facts are as presented in the article, they have a very valid civil case against the police here.
- Cameleopard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10It was just a costume party, asshat.
- omglazers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Oookay.

(a word of advice panic... if you *try* and be anything, you end up nothing - and your head explodes from trying to subvert the unsubvertable) - patientx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10idiot america.
- carmencada, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7panic u r ignant. I do not engage in such activities myself but I also have something called tolerance which allows me to let them have fun any way they want to as long as it doesn't hurt me or someone I love.
No, they are not being original by dressing up the same way a million others do. Yes, they think they are being anti-conformist by conforming to an ego mass of like minded individuals. But do I call them names and say they should be beaten? No, I don't think so.
As for you, a person who calls others names and says they want to beat them up just for the way they look has some seriously deep seated problems mentally. I recomend you speak to a therapist about your issues or at least take an anger management course. And "Never judge a book by it's cover." Ever heard that? I'll bet you have. - tvc15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The 'clowns' they're looking for are called Juggalos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juggalo
- cdlavalle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5A huge Undead protest! That would be sweet! I would love to see the Fox coverage on that one.
- bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They had nothing on me, and basically I got let off if I pled guilty, but not before paying a heap of ***** fines, court costs and a 10 hour stint in the slammer on fathers day. Not to mention the antagonising they gave to "get a rise out of me" (as was mentioned in this article as well)
And the cost of pleading innocent is more than the fine in most cases.
Theres no such thing as "getting off" on any misdemeaner charges. The police know this, and when they want to intimidate you without it being "on the record" they know exactly how to do so. - Twango, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5That's fun stuff that's been going on for years.
Freedom. Use it or lose it. - MisterKen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5She ate the 7th zombie.
She looks happy. - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7They should just be glad they didn't get beaten to death:

Overzealous cops on all fronts - dbre2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Is it just me or does Jake Benjamin Sternberg look like Ronan on Stargate atlantis?
http://www.stargateatlantis.com/bio/jason.html - dose, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Is it really a crime to refuse to identify oneself to a LEO if they don't have reasonable suspicion? And if I do refuse to identify myself after a LEO asks is that enough to warrant probable cause for the subsequent arrest? I thought that would violate my 4th and 5th amendment rights.
I'm no lawyer or law student...im just curious. - sshelato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Anyone else notice that these people were doing a "zombie pub crawl"? Google that and tell me it isn't the coolest idea since drinking itself. Or just check out this video: http://www.mnstories.com/archives/2005/10/zombie_pub_craw.html
- tagnarth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I saw that earlier today. I was so pissed I never knew anything about this. They've even had it at the MOA which I live a few minutes from. I definately gotta attend the next one.
- Renolc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"They were arrested for behavior that was suspicious and disturbing,"
So much for the freedom of self-expression. :\ - afpunk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Panic,
Perhaps you've never heard of this concept called "fun". Some people find it fun to make immature intolerant pricks such as yourself feel uncomfortable. Personally, if someone told me about a zombie party, there is a chance I would go, even though I've never before dressed in "goth" makeup or anything. I find perverse pleasure in making people who do their best to fit in feel completely out of place. I'm sorry that you can't stand people like that. Actually, no, I'm not. -
