      The photo is of a plastic model island with lighthouse, the kind you would find on a model train set. Evidence is easy to see in the hand-painted green rock area, and the silvery looking area near the house, and also the small twisty driveway near the boat. The blue car is also a model. The whole thing was then cut into a real photograph of the ocean. Evidence is the fact the water angle and focal distance is different from the plastic model.

      The whole thing is then pointless, because any irony the car on the island had was lost when you realized that there is no such car or island...

        Anything you can carry in one load with a pick up truck you can carry with two trips in the hatchback. Worth the tradeoff. Probably also easier to load the lower hatchback than the back of a pick up.

This island is far enough offshore that it is visited by a large resupply boat/ferry. The car is loaded with food and supplies on shore, driven onto the ferry, then driven right up to the cottage upon landing. It's the easiest way rather than unload a car, put the supplies on a boat, unload them onto a cart, and walk/pull them to the house. Quite logical, if humorous looking.

I'm guessing the weather isn't always good since it's a lighthouse, and it beats the heck out of lugging stuff one armload at a time. A wheelbarrow would get stuff wet, a golf cart uses electricity which is probably in short supply, a pickup truck - wet again. A hatchback seems like a pretty good choice actually.

(sort of the whole point of a lighthouse.) The boat dock had to be on that side of the island because it is the side without steep cliffs.

          Not to mention...I don't understand why people think that the solution they came up with is so complicated or crazy. Take an old car, ship it to the island, get a crane to put it up on a path, and leave it there. Simple. And cheap.
