- venir, on 10/12/2007, -12/+127I disagree. IMHO this is just the flight attendants being intolerant of same sex couples. If it were a man and woman I highly doubt anything would have been mentioned.
- threepio, on 10/12/2007, -13/+109Weren't obeying crew members who were making requests that, in a modern world, are a little ludicrous.
"You there! Cease your affectionate behaviour towards your life partner!"
Frankly, ***** off. - doskir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+85source: wikipedia
On modern airliners, the chief flight attendant is often called the purser. Duties include paperwork, incident reports and the purser is in charge of all the other flight attendants onboard. The purser is also paid more than the other flight attendants. - venir, on 10/12/2007, -13/+88@98acura
Did you ever stop to think that you may be a bigoted idiot? - UncleCrapper, on 10/12/2007, -11/+80Yeah! Parenting is hard. Imagine having to explain sex, drugs, war, ignorance, bigotry, homophobia, sexism, racism, honesty, character, why daddy drinks so god damn much and hits mommy, etc.
Life if hard. Shut the ***** up. - threepio, on 10/12/2007, -9/+75I wonder how hard you're going to be dug down. My guess? Pretty hard.
- hambend, on 10/12/2007, -10/+71"Why are two grown men kissing?"
Love.
*****, that was tough. - quasipalm, on 10/12/2007, -6/+67@DogmaticAtheism
You make it sound like you trip over gay orgies on your way to work every day. Did you ever stop to think about how often we look the other way to straight sexuality in everyday life? I've seen straight sex on TV (in front of children!) -- I've seen staight men yell "show us your *****" at concerts and at Mardi Gras -- and I've seen women do exactly that (in front of children!) -- and worse of all I've seen straight people groping each other in bars and even on public transportation.
None of it's a big deal, because we just look the other way when they're straight people. Gay people can go a little overboard at Gay Pride and whatnot IMHO, but in day to day life their actions are virtually identical to straight people. - geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+65Yes, disobeying a crazy Texas woman(I can see the Dallas wig now) with a bit too much power in her hands. Those dudes should have tongued eachother in her face. I've seen countless people make out on flights / smooch, what a female dog.
- hamstereater, on 10/12/2007, -11/+63it's okay 98acura, you'll probably grow up out of this homophobe phase after age 18 or so
- ulyssesyt, on 10/12/2007, -10/+60YOU. out of the gene pool. NOW.
- kilrathi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+51The United States of America! The land of the free!
... as long as you're male, white, straight, and Christian. - Hegemony, on 10/12/2007, -15/+61"Stupid *****.. Quit trying to rub it into everyone elses face that youre gay.. Yes we can already tell that you are gay by how you walk, talk, act, hold yourself, and the purse you carry.. There is no need to be an "over the top, flaming *****"."
@98acura
Stupid [heterosexuals].. Quit trying to rub it into everyone elses face that youre [straight].. Yes we can already tell that you are [straight] by how you walk, talk, act, hold yourself, and the purse you [don't] carry.. There is no need to be an "over the top, [straight guy].
The door swings both ways dick. Don't like being told what to do? Don't try to do the same to gay couples. - sdwilly, on 10/12/2007, -5/+48@Venir
The odd thing I find about this, is that you are much more likely to encounter a gay male flight attendant than a straight one. You would think that all the female flight attendants would have no problem with it, or at least not think twice about seeing it. - itsthemechanic, on 10/12/2007, -6/+47***** you and your ***** car.
- tehJR, on 10/12/2007, -10/+51"Did you stupid fags ever stop and think "Hey, these parents might not want to have to explain to their kids why 2 grown men are kissing" ?"
You know... there is a pretty straight forward explanation. And the kid should hear a straight forward explanation from their parent(s). Being negative only perpetrates hate. Narrow-minded people like you keep many evils in this world alive for longer than they ever should be.
You don't have to agree with their choices, but you have no right to act out like that. - aftk2, on 10/12/2007, -7/+44Stupid diggers.. Quit trying to rub it into everyone elses face that youre an idiot.. Yes we can already tell that you are an idiot by how you think, talk, moderate, and the posts that you make.. There is no need to be an "over the top, ***** troll"..
Did you stupid trolls ever stop and think "Hey, these people might not want to have to read a thread in which grown men are so stupid" ? - hchaput, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38...obeying crew members who were asking them not to kiss. It sounds like CYA to me. Sounds like everything was fine between the purser and the passengers until somebody brought up the fact that it might be harassment. I'd be pretty upset if I was asked to stop kissing my husband, airplane or not. I suspect you would be too.
- strykstaguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37true, but for kissing, which apparently is permissible. I personally have seen many people kissing, giggling, arguing, and other many people find annoying but I have never seen anyone asked to stop kissing.
- dan2, on 10/12/2007, -10/+44Haha Internet tough guy, don't worry no one will know you have a tiny penis.
- gcbv, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32Remember all those blacks "acting up" and "needing to get more" from their citizenship to the US? You're right, they should just shut up and let homophobes walk all over them.
- gonzoradio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32I can't tell you how many times I've had to sit next to straight couples making out (and more) on American and a lot of other airlines. No one from the flight crew ever asked THEM to stop - or asked if it offended any of us sitting around them.
If a rule's applied to everyone, fine. If not, it's bigotry. Period. - threepio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31My heavens, you're trying to make a point right now! Perhaps you too should be tazed.
No, you say? You don't like your right to free speech being repressed? I believe that's game, set and match. - davodavo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+35Impose it on others? Are you ***** serious? Impose _what_?
- davodavo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34If you have a problem with it, and it's not illegal, then I have a better idea. One that doesn't involve institutional discrimination:
Don't. *****. Watch.
It's not like gay men walk up to you, stop you in your tracks, and start making out right in your face. - ulyssesyt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32how about you stop imposing your foul-mouthed ignorance on me in public?
thank you. - threepio, on 10/12/2007, -5/+30LOUD NOISES
- duffyace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24When did this gem happen? A gay kiss now equates to terrorism? If I was flying and the Captain came on and said the plane was being diverted because of two dudes kissing I'd be pissed at him.
Get me home damnit! It's not like air travel doesn't already suck.
I personally don't much like PDA from anyone - straight or gay, but holy crap grow up a little! - Markers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26@98acura - I bet this is how he gets attention… it’s too bad your mother doesn’t hug you anymore.
- wintermute0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25e.g. “He would rest his head on my shoulder or the other way around. We’d kiss—not kiss kiss, just mwah” -- far from hardcore milehigh assporn.
- fourthesper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Dugg for all those who have to put up with this kind of bs...
I'm personally suprised at all the intolerance in these comments; perhaps it's my high school naïvete, but if two people love each other, then does it really matter what gender they are? And why should their kissing bother people: after all we're just scraps of flesh with minor differences, what makes it such a big difference if two men/women kiss? Some of my best pals are gay, and personally I could care less if they kissed/held hands/flirted in front of me.
And since someone always plays the religion card (haven't seen it here yet, but in case it shows up), the bible actually retracts the anti-gay sentiments of Leviticus later on in Hebrews 13:1.
Just my 2¢, do with it what you will. ^^
-Alex - gwinerreniwg, on 10/12/2007, -10/+32Thank GOD you don't have kids. With an attitude like that, do the human race a favor and please DON'T breed, you homophobic bigot.
- dotnetwebdev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23@NihilisticAC:
"I don't care if you're gay. But God damnit, do it behind closed doors. Sorry, but I don't want to watch two queers making out anywhere.
Go ahead, digg me down - but all you're doing is supporting something that isn't right."
Not right for whom? You? Then keep your comments to yourself. Not everyone is homophobic, you fag. And by 'fag' I mean '*****', you *****. - LostOnion, on 10/12/2007, -7/+28@98acura: I wish we had a video capability so you could show us "how you walk, talk, act, hold yourself" so we could all spot a gay man. Is it kinda how Neal Patrick Harris does it? Cause he sure had me fooled all these years. And I never saw him carry a purse. But then I guess he must be one of them there stealthy *****, just waiting in the bushes to jump you, you ignorant *****!
- progpen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22@98acura and @WaterDragon are two bright and shining examples of why letting anyone on the Interweb is a bad idea. They put their puerile little diatribe online, stroke their little manhoods, and repeat "I am such a MAN!", while pushing those bad thoughts (about that guy with the cute butt) deep down inside.
Too bad they will both end up on Cops, tweaking and shrieking incoherently with a half a dozen police officers holding them down. - dotnetwebdev, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22WTF?
"We are a primarily Christian society" .. ? Who is? Where? America? I live there and that's not statistically correct, asshat. Just because YOU are a Christian does not mean OTHERS are, or want to be.
Oh, and BTW, this 'WORLD Wide Web' thing ... it includes the *entire* WORLD, not just the one *you* live in.
Ass. - acAeris99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20If the pilot would divert the plane for a gay kiss, I wonder what he would have done if they joined the mile-high club and was caught? Someone should try it and report back.
- jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22@ NihilisticAC
I'm straight, but I'd kiss a guy just to disgust you. Yes, I think you are that much of an ass. - ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22America! The best in human rights, as long as you're the right humans...
- upasaka, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24WaterDragon,
Didnt you say something about leaving this thread? Then GO. Im sure you have some Pokemon to play with or animals to mutilate you sociopathic, intolerant, ignorant, sack of monkey crap.
PS to other diggers, sorry about the troll-bait. Couldnt stop myself. - ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Yes, because that's the next logical step after kissing...
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18@DogmaticAtheism:
You must not get out much in populated areas, because I see both heterosexuals and homosexuals holding hands, laying on each other, sleeping on each other, dancing together, giving back massages, and of course kissing. None of those innocuous displays of affection are prohibited by law, and except for when people are violently making out in public, no one bats an eye about any of these acts. Also, I fly a lot, and I have seen plenty of straight couples making out. It's not illegal until it's lewd and sexual, and I challenge you to find a clause in the flight ticket contract that prohibits kissing.
If I were making out on a plane and was told not to, I would be upset as well, and I'm straight. But I have made out on an American Airlines plane, and no one told me to stop, so either AA changed their policies in the last couple years, or there's some inconsistency here. - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21...and yet you'd probably get a hard-on if two chicks made out in front of you.
Uh huh, that's _totally_ fair. - threepio, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23How about no, you crazy bastard?
I don't give a ***** what you want to watch. Don't want to see it? Don't look. You say it ain't right, I say it is - how passionate are you about repressing my rights? Willing to fight for it? Willing to die for it? - tehJR, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23Ugh. I'm going to block WaterDragon now, and 98acura after I read more of the responses to his comment.
- ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20I find it hard to believe that anyone threatening violence like you are has kids. In fact, it's most likely you're about 14 yourself. You and 98acura should go find a nice private place and stay out of society.
- nikkesen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Thank you for saying what the rest of us rational people were thinking.
- Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19"Why are two grown men kissing?"
"Gay people... well, gay people are EVIL. Evil right down to their cold black hearts which pump not blood like yours or mine, but rather a thick, vomitous oil that oozes through their rotten veins and clots in their pea-sized brains which becomes the cause of their Nazi-esque patterns of violent behavior. Do you understand?" - dkm201, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20You said you were leaving, but you're obviously desperate for attention. Yours is an empty and sad life.
Cheers! -
