- dmoney06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29Nice, need a Hi-Res version though, 600x455 or whatever doesn't quite cut it.
- doddilus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Wow, I would love to have a high res image for a wallpaper
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24"Cloud City?"
Given your comment, I can't help but wonder if, in the future, when archaeologists are digging up our remains and relics of our time, they see a picture like that and say, "Wow! They had the technology to put buildings in the sky!" - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20it's not fake. it's what happens when you build a city in the desert over night.
- thepeacemaker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Cant wait for a pic from the 195th floor of Burj Dubai. Now THAT would be awesome (Empire State has a 100 floors). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burj_Dubai
- RedHairedMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Is there someone who's job it is to cry 'Fake' everytime someone posts a picture of something even remotely extraordinary, regardless of whether or not it matters?
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13From the thumbnail i thought these were just some lame 3d renders. But, really, These are some amazing shots. Is this kind of fog typical of Dubai?
- emorphien, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12very awesome photographs. I've always wanted to find myself in a situation like this, it's so surreal.
- thepeacemaker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14>Is this kind of fog typical of Dubai?
Surprisingly (given a desert) yes. We've known to have giant 200 car accidents in foggy days. But noon time the skies are mostly clear and in summers it can get to 120F+. Sure beats living in -20F snow though. - CupBeEmpty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Another city that gets great fog like that in the downtown area is Chicago. The other great thing about Chicago is when storms roll in they can literally flow right through the city center.

- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8An image OF the Burj-al-Arab in that fog would be awesome. It looks enough like a giant fin as it is, it'd be like a giant fish was swimming just below the buildings.
::EDIT:: Crap, I'm thinking of the hotel (that's completed), not the tower. - prosinader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8So fake in fact, that the artist went through the trouble of photoshoping a reflection himself and the room he was staying in over the pictures to make it look like he was actually taking a real picture from the 33rd floor of the towers. :-)
- livet0ski, on 08/17/2009, -0/+6jetsons anyone??
- oddmanout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6this is the building that the images were taken from, it would also look cool in the fog
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emirates_Towers - antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I know. Too bad the largest file is only 600X450. Was this with a camera phone?
- scullder, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7built by underpaid worker in bad and dangerous conditions... :)
- lagonis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I would love to go to Dubai also - looks like a great city. Too bad I am an Israeli national and thus not allowed to visit UAE. Does anyone know if they will cause me any problmes if I show my other passport.
- al28p, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Knowing Dubai, this could just be the idea of some rich guy willing to pay for alot of fog machines. Beautiful city though.
- JuyLe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is completly true, I've already seen that kind of picture took by a friend who lives there.
- tim507, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ive wanted to go to Dubai ever since i heard of Palmera. And now their working on a whole new city. Simply amazing.
- top5design, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My Dad works in Dubai. That city is blowuptuating!
- INHUMANITY, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Absolutely stunning!
- Liembo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2
We get that kind of fog in Seattle on rare occasions:

Dubai, as I understand it, is sparing no expense in designing the worlds most striking, beautiful buildings.
the sharp defined edges and detail combined with the wispy natural cloud scapes is amazing - Pharaoh777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't wait to get an apartment in the Burj. That's the main reason I want to move to Dubai. That, and all of the other development and economic prosperity.
- jstem1994, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember Dubai after Desert Storm was over, just before I got out of the Navy. We had a GREAT time there! Some Pakistani's that ran a club were pissed at the owners & ready to quit, but decided it would be more fun to comp me & my friends for a night of drinking at the club!
When the first one closed, they took us up to the top floor club. The crystal piano told me that I wouldn't have been there if it were not free..... - NorCal05, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The reason they may look fake is the fact that they were taken through a window. There may be some reflection or glare that is darkening portions of the photos
- emorphien, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for reminding me, in the past I have seen some excellent photographs of Chicago in the fog.
- Mome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's not just the view you'll enjoy in the Persian Gulf. Arab whores are to die for, and they'll ***** for as little as $20. Tuck in! You won't regret it.
- DECwakeboarder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The surreality to the buildings looks like an effect of HDR...don't know if these were shot in HDR or not, but it's a possibility.
Great pictures! - auhsor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1More info about the fog here:
http://www.ead.ae/en/?T=4&ID=339
I only wish the pictures were larger as they would make awesome wallpapers. - autodata, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't have an image, but one of the best city/fog combos I saw was flying out of chicago on a completely overcast day. The only thing sticking above the clouds was the very top of the sears tower and it left a clear path in the clouds as they moved past it. It looked *exactly* like a tall ship sailing on foggy water leaving a wake and I thought I was hallucinating for a second until I realized what it was.
- Sharkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lando would be proud

Stellar Photos though- NOT Fake!!! - ineser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0its amazing as if the city is in clouds
- zack12349, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0fantastic pictures, very well done. Here is a slide show of pictures that are very awesome also. These are from 98 of flickr's best photographers, and you will be amazed.

http://magicmonkeyformula.blogspot.com/ - expectinrain, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Very cool. At least they did neat things with our oil money.
- mattwooddc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0definately fake... look at the entire collection and admire how the sky is rendered.
also how the reflections are rendered on completely different surfaces of the building. sorry, as a 3d artist, I'm calling the post fake. - Valthonis, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Beautiful shots, but no originals = no digg. :-/
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Jetsons FTW!
- fcuknu, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I have to agree it looks fake. I am not saying it is fake at all, but it looks like some really great vector art. Like some of this stuff: http://basangpanaginip.blogspot.com/2006/07/worlds-most-photorealistic-vector-art.html
- jprez, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3yea man that place look unreal
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7The UAE is such a badass Arab country. They're by far the most capitalistic and Western country in the area. Kudos to the people for seeing how great money is!
- trollick, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Pretty boring view. Fog over San Francisco, on the other hand, that's a really breathtaking view.
- MordechaiCohen, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Bespin.
