- richiestang78, on 10/10/2007, -2/+56Yeah as someone whos had Aquariums all his life this is a better way to potentially contaminate your tank rather then clean it.
- rhylan, on 10/10/2007, -7/+47I've always wanted a man tank...

I already knew it was big (I designed it and had it custom-built) but seeing it being cleaned today really reminded me how freakin’ big it actually is…"
'By the way, did I mention I'm rich? Because boy, I sure am. Anyway, I'm going to go back to admiring my bigass fishtank from my chair made out of money.' - zyl0x, on 10/10/2007, -5/+30Too bad it's a dude.
- Parsley, on 10/10/2007, -2/+25That's really pretty gross.
- cankillar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone! duhduhdunduhduh
In this quiet neighborhood, there is a backwards world, a world where fish is man, and vice versa. At times, the Carp family likes to gather around their mantank and watch their pet inside. Little do they know, their pet is slowly evolving...[sound that I can't type]
Eh, it was kinda funny. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16Digg needs a thesaurus...

- rejoined, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Any chance you guys secretly listen to Jewish and Russian Albums?
- thenativeraver, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I believe you mean to say "prey"...
- fishfishfish, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10This one's much better: http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=586
The tank contains a four foot alligator gar, loads of stingrays, massive catfish and some pacu (a type of piranha) that are a couple of feet long. - joecomputerdude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9yeah, this is obviously not a good way to clean fishtanks...
they make little magnets with cleaner/scrapers on the inside of the tank that you can use to clean a lot more efficiently than submersing your entire body. - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8The bigger question here, is why is he taking pictures of dudes in their swimming trunks?
- effedup, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9people throw around terms like "BREAKING" "BREATHTAKING" "UNBELIEVABLE" "MOST AMAZING" way too easily.
Either people are super easily impressed or I am just way too difficult to impress. - KidVicious, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Until you realize you're submerged in a tank full of fish excrement.
- Tabris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7This idiot keeps going on about "praying" in a ***** of articles. I noticed his comments in like 3 separate ones, then looking at his profile every one of his comments is a troll post.
I get the pun, but from him it's annoying because he goes on about "praying" and how it solves everything, regularly. - rebopper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Can you tell by some of the pixels and by having seen some chops in your time?
EDIT: You Suck! - acdcfanbill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=crapcleantankchickreplarz3.jpg
I had 15 mins of free time, so here's a hasty crap version :P It's improved less than I though... - zdislaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5By my count you're the third.
- skyfire1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Inconceivable!!!
- GeekyGerge, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5True
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9pretty cool though
- geoboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Maybe this guy who's getting his fishtank cleaned is just gay, and he wanted a picture of some dude floating in his gigantic fishtank. That would actually make more sense.
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"I'm busy vacationing right now, so cannot enrich and entertain you with my blog insights. In the meantime, please enjoy the view of my oversized, manly fishtank! And my slave.
- rhylan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4true, the hard bit would be buying a man to go in the tank...
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah--must have spent hours pouring over rectangles!
- JavaApe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The photo looks real to me (though I agree with the comments about the smug owner). Tanks of 1000 gallons and larger are not uncommon -- though most folks looking at systems of this size opt for built-in's. The open cabinets below provide a partial view of the filtration system, and I'm guessing the very artificial looking coral columns hide the overflow and water returns. Assuming the sump (in the stand) is large enough to hold another thirty gallons or so, which seems probable, the maintenance guy can enter the tank without any problem.
As far as contaminating the tank -- the rules chage a bit when you scale the tanks up. Anything deeper than about 30 inches is difficult to clean from on top, and magnetic cleaners don't work well on the thicker glass/acrylic needed to hold larger volumes of water. It's not uncommon to actually go swimming to clean a tank. I've worked with several tanks in the 5000 gallon and up category, and swimming is the only way to work on those efficiently. The 1000 gallon system shown is at that awkward, in-between size. Too small to really swim in easily (or safely with the lights on), but too big to do easily from above. Tough call, but it looks like this maintenance guy likes swimming. A few skin cells and a couple of loose hairs aren't going to mess up anything in that much water. - lotsotech, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3What are you basing your info off of? I've worked at a client's house that has a tank about ~5x the size of the one in the picture and it gets cleaned the exact same way.
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Have you heard him complain? What the ***** are you goin' on about?
- drakenlot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Not exactly amazing... but whatever floats your boat
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What is better than the picture and the intro by the smug fishtank owner, are the brown-nose comments from his adoring fans!
- nailz420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3no explosives/bewbs, no digg
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I guess a sponge on a stick is beyond his primitive technology.
- miriclaire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You base info "on" something, not "off of" something.
- cricoste90, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Is this it lol: http://lol.ianloic.com/image-cache/11/111ebf0893487e0d9f32b2c8289c3f4a.jpg
Get it? It eats them! - TimFrost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Obviously an action man in a foot long aquarium, no air bubbles and stuck together toes. FAKE
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hot chick without one, even better
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I have more coral in my 40 gallon tank. Your's is weaksauce.
- cricoste90, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That guy is filthy rich?
- shinynew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1dont tell him... he is a smug *****.
- shinynew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Also by designed it i mean i told people with less money than me to make it big and threw money at them until they did it.
- shinynew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1More like the scary door.
- shinynew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wait I am not acutally vacationing because i can keeping updateing while STILL being a smug *****.
- enginbeering, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1And those things work pretty well-for basic routine cleaning.
Sometimes calcified algae makes its way onto your glass. Then you need one of those long scrapers or another method.
Cleaning a tank like that is definitely a bad idea- you're just going to contaminate it. -
