- edg3, on 10/12/2007, -5/+61Would you please stop promoting your forum... its getting old very quickly.
p.s. In case this gets Dugg highly and the server dies here's a mirror of the images from the story...

- http://www.edg3.co.uk/snatch/lightbulb_2.jpg - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+50Cute piece of art and it'll definitely turn heads... my only concern is that the fake screw might cause a large shadow in the room it's lighting.

I think you just need to....lighten up? - Masterbaiter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27ZOMG it's incredible....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29see if you said "ZOMG it's incredible...." you wouldnt have been dugg down
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30Uh, it does the same thing a regular lightbulb does.. so are normal lightbulbs the most useless things you've ever seen? Didn't think so.. Plus, it adds interest because its art.
- Ricapar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22So, how many people does it take to figure out how to screw this light bulb in?
- portis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19I got the "Incredible 404" instead. :(
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15You think? I'm still trying to figure out how to make a whoopee cushion power an aircraft or plow a field.
- charbon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22It looks terrible and most likely gives off less light then the other models.
I was hoping to see a something a lot more technical opening this. - rm999, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11"It looks terrible and most likely gives off less light then the other models."
Think of it as art. It doesn't have to be functional, and aesthetics in art is highly subjective. In this case, a lot of people will enjoy it as art because it surprises them and makes them think. That's the "cool" factor of it. - Roagie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"Incredible" ?
Come now.... I think "fun" lightbulb or "trick" lightbulb might have been more appropriate. - oskite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Just a nice tip to people who don't appreciate the forum spam:
Guests can edit other guest posts for some reason. Have fun. :) - Jimzip, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"Me I'd just go with one of those dummy arms sticking out from under a closet door or something."
Pure class there.
Well just keep in mind.. you aren't being forced to buy it. It's just an interesting piece of art that hasn't been seen before. If nothing else it would be a good conversation starter..
I think it's cute. But like many others, I don't think I could pay $30 for it.
Jimzip :D - Carsonauto, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13Merely novelty. Not at all practical.
- ohthatguy111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4what happens if you plug it in twice?
- iomegaboy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14The only reason normal bulbs are $.25 is they make 10 trillion of them. These are a low demand novelty. The price is probably fairly reasonable considering the demand for this product and it's cost of production.
- jexdawg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7The only art that physically hurts to look at.
- acyork, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"I LOVE LAMP!"
...sorry, i had to. - sgoogle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Could be difficult to make your own by cutting a hole in it seeing as they are filled with an inert gas to prevent oxidation of the filiment
- Cloud7654, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The secret
http://charlesandmarie.com/typo3temp/pics/8a2bf2e24a.jpg - Killeroid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@wonderkind : "so flexible to fit into pretty much any socket."
Then you had to ruin the punchline :( - ScottMaximus1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1more like any working lightbulbs
HEYO - spacechip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, maybe we need another rating for "content is fine, heading is dumb"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow. nice pic
- sucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1having seen this, i now have "inquiries aplenty."
- JorgeGT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It redefines the whole history of anglophone humor.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1God damnit. This sort of thing is at every gizmo/gadget site. Get a few on your RSS feed. Stuff like this isn't really too uncommon, and there's much better inventions that never get on digg.
- fweepa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4*buys one*
- shortarabguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can just imagine some cheap bastard bringing this light bulb with him everywhere he goes in his house because it saves money on light bulbs...
- ablez3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what happens if you touch the metal end?
- helinism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What no CFL? tsk, tsk...
- rowlodge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2and not only will you get 1 bulb or 2 bulbs but 3, yes 3 bulbs!... for the price of 1!
- Archarios, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Creative, but hardly "incredible". Buried.
- JorgeGT, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Would it be hard to make one?
1. Deattach real socket.
2. Attach fake socket.
3.Cut a hole in the bulb.
4.Put real socket in the hole
5.Bend internal components (if needed)
6.Make her open... err...
...
I'm gonna try with the next lightbulb that fails and then with a real one. - Piggycow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Thats awsome
- jonconnelly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The ones edg3 posted work, only pics no article, but they work
- ScottMaximus1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It's homosexual
- nubnub, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Any working mirrors?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0its working for me...
Keep trying - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Mostly offtopic, but I followed a link on there to a store called 2Modern. I checked their bedframes. $14,000 for $300 of wood? wtf?

Product page: http://tinyurl.com/33qe9l - danekp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"Incredible?" I don't quite understand, it has two different sockets, does it? And one is non functional? A hermaphrolight? I wouldn't say 'incredible," incredible would be a 30-watt bulb with fish floating in it. This is... not. Of course it would be fun trying to get people to lick the second socket once you show them what it is. But that's about it.
- neverend3r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0just when we thought we were past the days of incredible light bulbs
what year is this? - bj00rn, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Uhm, this is possibly the most useless story on the front page of digg ever...
- PARAPA, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Or even refrained from putting "lolololololol"
Every bodies an AOL user now? - Jo9100, on 10/12/2007, -18/+12and you are probably the most useless person i have ever seen, ever.
- VinceNoir, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0What kind of stupid ***** do you have to be to find this interesting in the least? This is actually LESS interesting than the pet rock craze of the 1970s. It's about as interesting as watching paint dry. It's actually as stupid as anyone who thinks Survivor and other "reality" TV shows are fun to watch. Anyone here catching my drift? This photo and the product are ***** stupid. And anyone who actually thinks it's interesting, clever or any other positive attribute that could be applied is a post-natal abortion candidate. ***** hell. I can't believe this even made it to the front page. Yet more proof that Digg was flawed in design from the beginning.
- linksus, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1LOL the art bulb.
Looks like a production line fekup.
Infact it probably is and they say, " Hey frank the machines broken again " frank:"ahh screw it, just sell um like that" - alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5he's right...
it does look cool though. -
