- MapShatter, on 05/24/2008, -32/+196Your article is lame Mr.babyman
- TheHurler, on 05/24/2008, -1/+115Copycat! I did it first. This photo was taken in 1982:

Be sure to read the FAQ. - solistus, on 05/24/2008, -16/+113Eh, Snopes just points out that there was a ledge 20 feet below. This article states that quite plainly. The scenario described is not "false;" Snopes was merely pointing out that it wasn't as dangerous as some may have thought. That said, I find the assertion that a 20 foot fall onto an uneven, narrow column of rock is not that dangerous to be pretty stupid. There's a pretty good chance that anyone falling the first 20 feet would be unable to grab hold of the rock in time and would continue down the rest of the way. Also, Snopes doesn't comment one way or the other about the second jump.
- seabass341, on 05/24/2008, -42/+128Is something wrong with me if I think that this story would be more interesting if he fell?

Owned. - jordanisj, on 05/24/2008, -9/+74You'd think that someone that spends as much time on the internet as MrBabyMan seems to would have gotten past the 'Fw:FW:fw OMG' stage.
- sonnygill, on 05/24/2008, -3/+54Feel free to try and let us know how it goes :)
- DalamarArgent, on 05/24/2008, -10/+55Hello Dailymail crew, Digging your company post for the day I see.
Buried. - tonicboy, on 05/24/2008, -7/+49nice find, I guess we should've known, considering it's the Daily Mail. still, it's a risky jump that could risk a broken leg or death if he lands on the ledge the wrong way and rolls off.
- bobkingof12vs, on 05/24/2008, -22/+61im disapointed...
1. we dont get to see the probably amazing pic he took from over there and
2. he didnt fall off the cliff... nit even close to dieing there... :( - dualboy24, on 05/24/2008, -0/+35You can view the high res of him laying on the rock and can also see the connecting ledge at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/baumer1781/214790068/ ... - karmant, on 05/24/2008, -3/+34woulda been an epic failure if he had been wearing crocs.
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -13/+43You, sir, totally understand how Digg works, and MrBabyMan clearly wrote the article himself.
Stay tune for the next episode, we will explain to MapShatter how Google have designed all those websites you search for. - zeroroth, on 05/24/2008, -1/+30dude that's awesome
- Pogojoe, on 05/24/2008, -7/+34Boom goes the Snopes missile...
- lalilulelo, on 05/24/2008, -10/+36RTFA guys. "However, there is still a life-threatening drop of around 20ft on the near, 'safer' side of the rocks. On the far side, the drop is about 0.6miles."
- HoldenH, on 05/24/2008, -2/+27As long as he's not a puppy.
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -8/+32Jesus christ, RTFA. It wasn't fake, they both say the same thing, he jumped over a 20 ft drop.
- CYR1X, on 05/24/2008, -6/+30...An 8ft. jump? 20 ft. in the air? Little bit different than "Leaping Across the Grand Canyon"...
- wicketr, on 05/24/2008, -5/+29The article in question mentions the ledge. Secondly, 20ft or 1000ft, it's crazy. That's a 2 story building would cause SERIOUS injuries. Jumping ~8ft in sandles with one hand to use is just crazy with nothing but hard stone waiting on you at the bottom.
- mrjack92, on 05/24/2008, -6/+31THANK YOU! I am sick of seeing this article...
- evfinkelstein, on 05/24/2008, -8/+31Thank god he had that 6-pack for courage.
- Koookie, on 05/25/2008, -0/+18Note: the link works if you open a new window and copypaste the url there. Doesn't work by clicking, I guess due to referrer.
- KiwiMark, on 05/24/2008, -5/+22People shouldn't be doing that, it will cause erosion.
- itspuddingtime, on 05/24/2008, -0/+16it's the same exact story. This is just the print version
- thumperings, on 05/24/2008, -0/+15well then thank god you showed up!
- xenoc1de, on 05/24/2008, -10/+25Doesn't stop the fact that the majority of babyman's dupes are very lame.
- jonnyfatman, on 05/24/2008, -3/+17Woo! So this must mean I'm even braver for doing this in Norway. There really was about a kilometer to go until you hit the fjord below.
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/jonnyfatman/ ... - tonicboy, on 05/24/2008, -3/+14And then the next sentence, which you casually omit..."On the far side, the drop is about 0.6miles."
- minnymoo, on 05/25/2008, -0/+11*weeps for the puppy*
- solistus, on 05/24/2008, -0/+10If I were with park services, I'd want to buy that man a beer, not arrest him.
- breezytrees, on 05/24/2008, -3/+12So if Daily Mail saw on GMTV that Barack Obama did crack with a hooker in a public stall, assumed GMTV was correct, then published it as fact in their paper, then they are an honest and good news organization because they did not "make it up," Right?
Wrong. Reporters and news papers have to strive to discover and report the truth. Honest reputable reporters are extremely valuable to society. Daily Mail is an absolutely terrible news organization that could care less about reporting the truth. To Daily Mail, it doesn't matter if the article is truthful, if it catches peoples eye, and they buy the paper, then job well done!
Essentially, Daily Mail is a tabloid paper, much like those papers about celebrities you see in the checkout line. The only difference is, Daily Mail actually pretends to be an honest publication and is read and trusted by millions of people who don't know any better. - Mard, on 05/24/2008, -3/+12You must not be looking at the same pictures that we are. For example, the thumbnail above which shows him leaping across without touching either side seems to completely disprove your idea.
- agildehaus, on 05/24/2008, -4/+12and I enjoyed your mother.
bah-dum-ching! - charlie55, on 05/25/2008, -2/+10it looks much less scary from that angle, where you can see he probably wouldnt die from falling.
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -2/+10Holy *****! He's wearing Flip-flops!
- Soulbow2, on 05/25/2008, -1/+9I went hiking in the grand canyon during spring break. When I tried to climb up a little pathway, not normally where people would walk, I got yelled at severely. How come nothing happened to him?
- dominicrice, on 05/24/2008, -1/+8that's nuts
- lolwutpear, on 05/24/2008, -0/+7i think it's safe to apply that statement to any situation in life. crocs are fail.
- Akaji, on 05/24/2008, -4/+11mintywhite, please go jump off a 20ft cliff and tell us how it goes.
- jmp478, on 05/25/2008, -0/+7The article points out that the two rocks are connected...
- purepremiumpulp, on 05/25/2008, -2/+9I've witnessed something very similar to this just a few weeks ago.
I came across a guy trying to climb to the top of one of the rocks to get a better shot. The side he was on had to be at least a few hundred feet drop, the safe side on the far left which he was no longer above was maybe 20 ft below him.
http://image58.webshots.com/758/0/87/0/29210870000 ... - antonio97b, on 05/24/2008, -3/+10I guess you don't understand what a joke is.
- matschig, on 05/25/2008, -2/+8Ya, mrbabyman strikes again
- jeriqo, on 05/25/2008, -0/+6If you're going to shoot the sun which is millions kilometers away, moving 3 meters wont change your pic much.
- AROZ, on 05/25/2008, -1/+7Definitely, but if he fell, he could still easily slip off the connecting ledge...
- Frost9999, on 05/24/2008, -1/+7I don't think he discriminates - just spray and pray. It's the hordes of people digging these articles up that I'm worried about.
- elnerdo, on 05/25/2008, -0/+5Yelled at doesn't mean much. What are they going to do to you if you wander off? Shoot you?
