- elijahyossie, on 06/08/2009, -14/+99As far as I can see, there is no great link between Christ's teachings and weapons.
- WhiskeyLemur, on 06/30/2009, -2/+85"...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy.' "
- blorc, on 06/08/2009, -8/+66The only thing wrong with this is the requirement to unload the weapons. It makes no sense to try and make the point that everyone has a right to self-defense only to disarm everyone as they enter the church. That's like telling students to use condoms to help prevent teen pregnancy or the spread of STDs only then to punish students caught carrying around condoms.
- felman87, on 06/08/2009, -7/+61Nothing says worship the Prince of Peace like an AK-47
- ironhide, on 06/08/2009, -7/+37Be sure to bring your banjos and 'shine too! Gonna be a heck of a party.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -11/+40I'd bring a gun just in case any crazy Pro-Life ***** show up armed.
- RealmDown, on 06/08/2009, -5/+34Use a miracle clip and never need to reload.
- Abatrour, on 06/08/2009, -21/+48Yes there is. The people can DEFEND themselves from the outlaws who DON'T OBEY GUN LAWS!
Gun laws disarm the law abiding citizens and that's it. If none of the citizens have any means to defend themselves from gun packing crooks, the crooks could get away with anything they want.
If you read the article, you would have noticed that a few of the pastors have been shot in their own church. - alanocu, on 06/08/2009, -23/+49Probably because bibles don't always deflect the bullets of maniacs who mow down pastors in the middle of their sermons and the Muslims across the street in the mosque are yelling "kill the infidels!" while sharpening their machetes for an upcoming beheading..
Atheists aren't sure what side of the street they want to be on until they test their hypothesis, call everyone stupid, brag about the size of their brain, and congratulate themselves for being so tolerant.
Does that sum up the stereotypes and label everyone accordingly? Just making sure we're demonstrating equal opportunity ignorance here. - sb66, on 06/08/2009, -5/+28Only in America :)
- evilesttoast, on 06/08/2009, -6/+28A church nobody wants to ***** with?
- frontaxle, on 06/08/2009, -2/+24Jesus wept.

Read it in context. It was talking about spiritual warfare. - chicagojack, on 06/08/2009, -11/+32Dugg for Guns in Church
- delrin500, on 06/08/2009, -13/+34Christian Extremism is bad, just like any form of extremism.
When exactly did religion get twisted with patriotism? - r00ts, on 06/08/2009, -6/+27I don't understand what the second amendment has to do with the church? Does it say in the bible that one should always practice their man-given right to bear arms?
People who bring politics into church disgust me. This is a total bastardization of the Christian faith, and only serves to make me even more ashamed of my pious brothers. - erkokite, on 06/08/2009, -5/+25PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE AMMUNITION!
- datacowboy, on 06/08/2009, -2/+21WWJD?
- elnerdo, on 06/08/2009, -1/+19Dude, dazparkour, there's a huge difference between imminent tyranny (which is the sort of 'problem' an armed populace can fix) and the political problems we have now. I understand we have some problems, but in the grand scheme of things they are incredibly minor problems, and they are absolutely not worthy of a civil war.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -2/+19that's called america.
- ToastPop, on 06/08/2009, -0/+16More like poking holes in all of the condoms.
- DreKor, on 06/08/2009, -2/+17Did you know Jesus and Moses used guns to defeat the Romans?
- richirwin, on 06/08/2009, -1/+13Reverend Boss Hogg.
- josh4rim, on 06/08/2009, -7/+19All they are trying to do is to tell the people to exercise their rights. I would like every day to be a bring your gun to ------- (fill in the blank) day. If the criminals thought that every law abiding citizen was "packing" they would think twice before committing a crime.
- aristotle0dude, on 06/08/2009, -0/+12Turn the other cheek, allow himself to be arrested and die for our sins.
He is called the "Prince of peace". What do you think he would do? - GraceHead, on 06/08/2009, -16/+28I think guns are good.
digg me down - bluepdx, on 06/08/2009, -1/+13The key portion here that people are missing is that these guns are UNLOADED. The whole thing is a joke.
On the other hand, there are tons of people who concealed carry everywhere they go. Most states have single digit percentages of people who have concealed carry permits. That means that you're probably already around at least a gun a day, if not more. Stop worrying about it. The reality is that people carry guns, and it doesn't end up causing shootings. In any case, the shootings that do happen, are basically never by people who have concealed carry permits. - shiftkgb, on 06/08/2009, -0/+11Sorry but theres a vast difference between self defense and murder. And every person on the planet has the right to try and defend themselves.
- manlyandy, on 06/08/2009, -0/+11Lying in church is fun!
- danthepiercer, on 06/08/2009, -1/+12yeah, and there really isnt much a link between christs ACTUAL teachings and what is taught in most churches!
- DanielUchiha, on 06/08/2009, -0/+10http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/03/08/church.shootin ...
- BrewBeau, on 06/08/2009, -7/+17Yeah, the guns should always be drawn, too. The perp might get away in the time it takes you to draw your weapon. Also, shoot everyone you see, at least in the leg, so you have time to decide if they were threatening you insecure self or not.
- CoD4, on 06/08/2009, -2/+12I just hope everyone brings an extra gun in case the first one falls into the wrong hands
- zantos420, on 06/08/2009, -0/+10Half off cover fee for those wearing denim overalls with no shirt underneath
- danthepiercer, on 06/08/2009, -7/+17i had a really good point to make...
BUT THIS BOUNCING ***** COMMENT BOX IS SCREWING ME UP!!!!
WHEN THE ***** WILL YOU ***** FIX THIS *****!?! - BobSagetFan, on 06/08/2009, -28/+38Is there anything positive that is going to come out of this?
- Raesear, on 06/08/2009, -1/+11At the end when he says "it is enough," he does not mean "those are enough swords for us to get our fighting done." He's saying, "that's enough of that." As in, "my friends, you've misunderstood the metaphor. I was simply saying that you must wield the Spirit as a sword, but you've somehow acquired swords in the space of 2 verses, and although I'm impressed with that, you've completely missed the point."
In Matthew 26:52 Jesus chastises Peter for using a sword. "Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword."
So...yeah. Jesus wasn't too big on the old ultra-violence. - Chooxo, on 06/08/2009, -3/+12America! ***** yeah!
- DanielUchiha, on 06/08/2009, -6/+15Singing "Jesus Loves Me" while holding Kalashnikov...nice.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+10if only that were true, texas would have no crime.
- cloudberries, on 06/08/2009, -1/+10But killing someone anywhere else is ok?
- chopeh, on 06/08/2009, -3/+11You misspelled 'stupidity' as 'freedom'.
- urgeigh, on 06/08/2009, -1/+9Everyone DOES have access to guns Tebriel. You're so naive.
- tomjowitt, on 06/08/2009, -3/+11Freedom? It's got nothing to do with freedom ... it's law. You don't have the freedom to ***** children but it's not like US society is any worse off.
Considering how many stupid people there are on this planet, constitutional gun ownership can only be a bad idea. - bstockwell, on 06/08/2009, -6/+14the way I see it most religions are this way.
- Taiyoryu, on 06/08/2009, -1/+9The pastor is a history revisionist: "And we're not ashamed to say that there was a strong belief in God and firearms -- without that this country wouldn't be here."
This country came about not because of any belief in a deity or love of weaponry. This US was formed because of a strong belief in individual rights and to have the ability to defend those rights, with arms if necessary.
The pastor doesn't understand the role of firearms: "Firearms can be evil and they can be useful," he said. "We're just trying to promote responsible gun ownership and gun safety."
It's great he wants to promote responsible gun ownership and gun safety; he got that much right. However, he needs to understand, weapons are tools. They have no inherent morality. They are no more or less good or evil than a rock laying on the ground. What's evil is people using firearms to threaten or to actually deny a person's right to life. - Homerr, on 06/08/2009, -1/+8guns in church = American Taliban
- twiztidsinz, on 06/08/2009, -0/+7http://dinosaurfanfiction.com/wp-content/uploads/2 ...
- Kyouwa, on 06/08/2009, -3/+10Because I'm sure that if some maniac came in the church with the intent to kill, Jesus would rather we just turn the other cheek right?
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -8/+15you're assuming these people can read.
