- a3r0, on 10/11/2007, -23/+469Am I the only one who kept hiding/showing this comment, just to see it fly by? It's so much fun...
- karlcbl, on 10/11/2007, -4/+330In retrospect, I should have marked nein.
- Aeaus, on 10/11/2007, -14/+292At least that's less deceptive then some of our "modern" ballots where the "bubbles" don't even match up with the right candidates.
http://www.electronic-vote.org/GIF/ballotusa2004.jpg - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -10/+233I wonder what they did with the people that selected No.
- Bob042, on 10/11/2007, -2/+212Don't forget about the soldier standing over your shoulder to make sure you don't have any problems voting...

Somehow, I doubt that Wikipedia will crumble under the might power of the digg effect. - alexf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+154Did you guys notice that the "digg" button is bigger than the "bury" button! FASCISTS!
- recipher, on 10/11/2007, -6/+155It doesn't matter, they had the election rigged anyway.
- otatop, on 10/11/2007, -11/+149Kinda weird that they could make every vote except the President line up exactly...
- esotericguy, on 10/11/2007, -5/+125Those subtle bastards!
- JasonCox, on 10/11/2007, -7/+105Thats pretty cool with the Digg expand/collapse animation.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/11/2007, -8/+93What the ***** hell. I didn't even realize what was wrong with that picture until I looked more closely.. that is horrible.
- zeusabj, on 10/11/2007, -13/+85HA! Reminds me of the voting system here on Digg. Two choices:
A - Are you an Overzealous Democratic Pot-Smoking Atheist Homosexual?
B - Are you just a moron with insane ideas and beliefs that the rest if us refuse to tolerate or even remotely entertain that we must crush at all costs?
Yup, thats Digg. - swavalier711, on 10/11/2007, -3/+72the subtlety is killing me.
- LeNoir, on 10/11/2007, -12/+80Thaks xelloss
And ***** you people who dugg me down. I was asking a honest question. - cptn_cardboard, on 10/11/2007, -11/+75*insert comment critical of US Government*
- djAnakin, on 10/11/2007, -35/+92Yet, people [dumb people] keep insisting on calling President Bush, "Hitler". They really have no idea what Hitler did. It's pretty sad.
- xelloss, on 10/11/2007, -4/+61The arrows don't line up right, thats what is wrong with it, so if people where to fill in the arrow next to Kerry's name it would be really Bushes vote. You would have to fill in the second arrow to vote for Kerry.
- duuk2k2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+57Digg Button 51x24px = 1224px
Bury Button 53x20px = 1060px
I had to see if that was fact. I digg it - Rikkochet, on 10/11/2007, -6/+62Hey! I'm not gay!
- enslavednerd, on 10/11/2007, -12/+67For some reason, I don't see what you are getting at here.
- ruley, on 10/11/2007, -6/+61this is your brain. this is your brain without hitler
- dantidote, on 10/11/2007, -20/+75Whatever, this is probably just an optical illusion. Hey ***** you Hitler.
- Asbradley21, on 10/11/2007, -3/+57*smokes pot while ranting about Bush and ***** you in your ass*
- apache2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+52it's a ***** picture of a german document. what are they going to do, photoshop it to make it look english?
(anyone bored? :P ) - dattaway, on 10/11/2007, -3/+51Do you support the War On Terror?
(YES) kill them all
(NO) I AM A TERRORIST - Rikkochet, on 10/11/2007, -1/+44Actually the 1995 vote in Quebec to separate from Canada was worded much the same way, perhaps even more confusingly. The only reason people really knew which way to vote was all the lobbying hysteria going on in the streets at the time.
The wording (in English): "Do you agree that Québec should become sovereign after having made a formal offer to Canada for a new economic and political partnership within the scope of the bill respecting the future of Québec and of the agreement signed on June 12, 1995?"
Er, what? - ChuqAU, on 10/11/2007, -0/+37It's on the multilingual Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org), which makes it visible/accessible on Wikipedia's of any language.
- Buckiller, on 10/11/2007, -3/+39Do like my English teacher taught.. cross out all the prepositional phrases... then the sentence reads:
"Do you agree that Québec should become sovereign" - yomamaphat, on 10/11/2007, -2/+33Nein! At least they even had a "Nein"....
- rootofunity, on 10/11/2007, -4/+35A) Most people aren't being critical of the US Government, they are being critical of one particular administration.
B) Whats wrong with a little dissent? Isn't that what this country is about? That's what makes this country great.
"Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels -- men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion."
-- Dwight Eisenhower - LeNoir, on 10/11/2007, -6/+34@ dantidote
Hey. Godwin's Law. - mwsherman, on 10/11/2007, -7/+33It was the hanging chad's fault.
- Bamborzled, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28@sumguy21
Keep English alive, 'yo. Pick up one of those books that teach you the alphabet in big, bright, colourful letters. Looks like you'll need them.
Plus, Wikipedia has an insane amount of bandwidth, all supported by donations. So, keep on donating! I can't because I'm only a teenager, but you can! - Sil369, on 10/11/2007, -8/+31I'm Canadian, how am I supposed to read this, lol.
- Bamborzled, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20"Did Arial exist at that time?"
Arial sucks; it was a total ripoff of Helvetica commissioned by Microsoft so they could dodge licensing fees.
By the way, you fail at looking at huge circles. - adeadwaffle, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23Sudo make me a bacon smoothie.
- Wilson, on 10/11/2007, -9/+28@lenoir (#6912046)
What the ***** is up with the inconsistent capitalization of the L in your username? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+26Am I insensitive for thinking this ballot is funny?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21And of course, if htere was Digg back then, the comments would be "At least Hitler was elected president in a democratic election."
You were saying that about Saddam Hussien whose "ballots" were equally as ridiculous, if not more so. - codye, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20Like a Ron Paul supporter?
Haha. I kid because I care. - way2muchsense, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Interesting that the ballot used the familiar "du" instead of the formal "sie." I guess the Third Reich was letting you know where you stood, right?
- ikak, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17What the hell did 'sumguy' just say? That's not english at all and the worst attempt at 'leet speak' ever.
- ZWarren69, on 10/11/2007, -7/+21WOAH! Nice find!
- Kwilco, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15The vast majority of Austrians really did favor the unification. Look at the movie footage for the AnschluB of Austria as opposed to the takeover of Czechoslovakia. In the former, you have cheering crowds filling the streets, in the latter, you have mute bystanders watching the cars go by.
Just throwing that out there. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9wikipedia:
To secure a large majority in the referendum, Schuschnigg set the minimum voting age at 24 in order to exclude younger voters who largely sympathized with Nazi ideology.
Holding a referendum was a highly risky gamble for Schuschnigg, and, on the next day, it became apparent that Hitler would not simply stand by while Austria declared its independence by public vote. Hitler declared that the plebiscite would be subject to major fraud and that Germany would not accept it. - MadOtaku, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Just to explain, 'you' in German has two forms. The informal, 'Du' (pronounced 'doo') and the formal, 'Sie' ('zee'). It is considered disrespectful/rude to address an equal or superior as 'Du', if you don't know them well.
Disclaimer: I am not German; I have taken only a little German. The broad idea is accurate, but I may be slightly off/outdated on the subtleties. - ClayDragon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8After seeing that confusing ballot I am surprised that you don't have 90% invalid votes in the USA.
- vuke69, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12Funny how the nein circle is exactly the same size as the muzzle on a K98k, I wonder why?
- polybot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9You seem to be attempting to make a tenuous link between Hitler and Christianity. Bear in mind NS Germany also had a close co-operative relationship with the USSR up to the point of invasion, excellent diplomatic relations with Britain right up to Sept 1939. He closely associates his party with social welfare but this does not make the principle of social welfare evil entirely by association.
The NS Party was in fact much more Darwinist in its application of Eugenics theory, relied heavily on pagan symbolism and beliefs.
The irony of your attempts is that you come across as as one of those religious zealots who uses some quote from the Bible or Koran to make spurious links and explanations. -
