AND
Nice driving idiots. Were they all women?
HAHAHAHAHA - AmishRefugee, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58it's hard to explain any CAR wreck when the only vehicles involved are planes, tractors, tanks, buses and boats....
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -7/+49Repeated 500 errors already. Oh joy.
Duggmirror caught it though.

- RogerStrong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Thank You! I've been looking for that Trans Arctic Expedition photo.
I saw one before many years ago. When the Voyager probes left the solar system, each had a gold-plated record filled with sounds, music samples and pictures from earth. They ended up having room for one last photo, and this is the one they chose. The look of the people standing around thinking "Well, what do we do now?" gets funnier every time I see it. - FastZ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28Well, you're a bright one. Thanks for pointing out the obvious in all those pictures. What would we do without your help? /sarcasm
- RpgActioN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I don't understand how there isn't an impaled person in the driver's seat.
- Rageous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Anyone remember this one?

Good Christ. - holydope, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21did you not see 1,3,4 or 12?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16My personal favorite is the dump truck getting clotheslined by that overhanging lattice structure.
I honestly wonder how some of this occurred, especially the first one. A number of these must have resulted in fatalities as well :(
A flipped mega dump truck is also frightening. - Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15#2 looks like a monorail gone bad.

You got your airplane in my truck! - beckybra, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13so many diggs for a handfull of weird wreck pics while some others get a few diggs for 800 + oops pics. now that's weird

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The one with the Mustang is on the corner of Olive and Boren in Seattle. You have just read the most absolutely useless piece of trivia ever. Move along.
- Salgat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This is a real head scratcher.
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8We end up with you.
- LoungeActx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I don't know guys, I'm from PA like 2 minutes from Jersey, and the reason you guys get such a bad rep on the road is because of the way your civic engineers designed the way your roads work (aka Circles, Jughandles, etc...). I mean, what the hell is with the ACTUAL 95 turning into 195 and 295 in NJ, and the NJ Turnpike taking the name 95? When you get out of NJ 195, 295 they turn back into the actual 95. 99% of the rest of the East Coast can agree that 95 is the same road, but in NJ they make it difficult!
Thus, driving in NJ is insane unless you know what the hell you're doing. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5yeah, I would expect #2 and #4 to be full of blood
- djdole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Quite interesting pics.
Some of those though, I can totally see how they would happen (not that hard to explain).
And kinda coincidental, on my way home from work last week the thought crossed my mind;
"What would happen if a car hit the highway guardrail end, head on?".
Heh, now we know. (It's just too bad it was the guardrail itself, that probably literally crossed that driver's mind too. O_O ) - galiean251, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7@keyboardduder
As a jersey firefighter - the best wrecks usually have PA or NY plates on them...... - M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3momentum = mass * velocity.
Dump trucks have a lot of mass. - ninzoris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That one is my favorite too. It's just amazing the how the truck had enough momentum to get all wheels of the ground.
- sketchydave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@binnis
Its one thing to lump everyone's driving skills by state. Its entirely another to then get those states wrong. Last I checked New York is not part of New England - binnis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5@keyboardduder
People in Jersey aren't bad drivers, it the people from other states that come through ours who think they are.
In the summer time, the idiots from NY and other New England states that want to goo to the shore don't know what the hell they are doing when driving on the Turnpike or the Parkway. It should be understood that you ass shouldn't be in the left lane actually driving the speed limit. Everybody knows that you have to at least go 80 mph in a 65 in the left lane. - pikpikcarrotmon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3They all made gross misjudgments of surrounding traffic and the environment but aren't/weren't necessarily gross themselves.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6orbanj, that is why I absolutely love digg. One person posts a great article about a given subject, and a few other people post even more interesting stuff thats relative to the earlier subject.
- endlessoul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4purple: "Try to guess what happened in each one."
Looks like you did the guessing for us. - spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/4493713.stm Is still my favorite bizarre car crash.
Car managed to somehow jump up and smash into the top floor of someone's house - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@elsalgo
Grow up, sensitive douche. - keyboardduder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At Gallian and Binnis
I live in PA and many jersey driver goe too slow, too fast, doesnt use turn signals, runs stop signs, distracts themsleves while driving, makes the bottle effect on highways, doesnt pass in the left lane. It mist be something in the air - trev0006, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Those car crash pictures are amazing. The Volvo in the first pictures looks like it just dropped from the sky. http://www.dpccars.com
- Aliarse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You mean you never knew before you saw this picture?
Hitting a guard rail like that with enough speed can force the guard rail right through your engine/bulkhead. These days though, they usually have guard rail buffers fitted onto the end of them so when you hit it, instead of the guard rail staying straight and going right through the car, the force of impact bends the rail in a predictable manner so it slows the car down, as well as minimizing the risk of the rail entering the car like the picture in the link. - binnis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, I didn't mean to include New York as part of New England. I apologize if I offended any New Englanders out there. It is true that some of the roadways are a bit difficult to understand, especially the whole 95, 195, 295 thing and the jug handles, which by the way aren't a bad idea since it eases the amount of traffic that can be cause by a standard left turn or u turn.. The point I'm trying to make is that any outsiders who come to or through NJ, blame the fact that they are disoriented on the drivers rather than their inability to navigate themselves on high volume roads. Try driving through Manhattan, NY during rush hour and you might gain a different perspective.
- ckedge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These dump truck closehangings are all from a steel mill in Hamilton Ontario. And there have been *numerous* incidents. There are lots more photos out there from completely seperate incidents - all look exactly like this one - but different dates on the photos.
- PoopyMcCrapper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I saw something similar to this. it's not as good though. but check it out.http://dudewheresmycarparts.vox.com/library/post/brown-watchs-intuition-on-how-car-parts-you-from-the-world-of-the-living.html
- slowmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Smartcars aren't four-door.
- Amorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im fairly sure some of them were wrecked by the decepticons
- quaunaut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That #48 truck trick isn't actually that hard to do. Get near one of the big mounds of dirt(hard to avoid them in many construction spots), and you'll find that they'll flip even if the bed is empty.
- Raz0rblades, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1female drivers, no survivors
