- Bawk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8It says Abodes... not Adobe.
- kaleygirl, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Absolutely fascinating - I'm a house lover and this is to date the most interesting article I've seen on houses.
- Nihilady, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2#4 is photo-shopped, the original was on digg a few month's ago with the before and after images.
- dagooh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Damn, I thought that this somehow was going to be about the game Out of this World...
I'm so disappointed. - picsectionpleez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yes??
- gllopc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I'd just like to have a quarter acre of land and that "smallest" house in the world. I think I could afford that mortgage.
- tarquell, on 10/10/2007, -1/+213. by future systems is probably one of the few 'liveable' houses of this list, they are a great architects practice. There is a real difference between making a house look weird and making it great to live in. If all goes to plan there will be plenty more of these great houses built by architects in the uk through clause PPS7 http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/england/professio ...
- FriskDown, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2That cave house brings to mind that episode of Ren & Stimpy called "Hermit Ren." A mummified bug man!
- picsectionpleez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1cause it's a home and it's mobile
- MattnJax, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Really cool houses. If only everyone had the imagination to build such unique houses instead of the cookie cutter crap that fills suburbs now. Of course, most of those houses are probably pretty expensive though.
- kidblast, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I drive by the shoe house everyday on my way to and from work. For some reason though, I've never stopped in and checked it out.
- Desolite, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2what about the low impact woodland home? http://www.simondale.net/house/index.htm
- twotimesthru, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I live two miles from #24, the Spaceship House.. it's right on a main road up Signal Mtn. so for locals, though its still pretty cool, its just.. that house.
- picsectionpleez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1well, we see this article on Digg about every 45 days so I guess you're new? Welcome!
- yojiffyskippy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Interesting.
- yojiffyskippy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Good thing because I heard it smells like dirty feet.
- edithsan, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1This is incredible.
- stray, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm amazed no one's tried to replicate Bag End as a real, livable house yet.
- Schmapdi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I hate it when an article that is pretty much about giving you something cool to look at uses postage stamp size pics.
- ahpro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Why isn't my house that exciting?
- rabbro, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Dugg for use of the word 'abode'
- Grossmont, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Here's another interesting one: A round house, which rotates around, usually once every 24 hours.
Here's a story on it: http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20060210/n ...
And here's the direct link: http://www.rotatinghome.com - meatbot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0All really interesting, unique and pretty danged cool in their own way, but give me a Hobbit hole any day.
Barring that, Earthship would be next on my list. - taiso, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1The Chattanooga Space House is pretty amazing... I drive by it sometimes and it really stands out on the side of the "mountain" it's located on. It's been up for sale for quite a while though, must be something obviously wrong with it!
- montmc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Tell me this one doesn't invoke Lord Vader - http://www.robertbruno.com/ (go to pictures)
- switz1873, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1#14 is in my hometown.
- ColibriEnergy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4Wow, nice find... the tree-houses are my favorite!
- lccoach, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Reminds me of the kind of homes showcased on the show - Extreme Homes (i think that was the title!). Amazing what people build.
- Jade456, on 10/11/2007, -11/+5What an asshat. Guy just ripped off this post: http://www.roxanneardary.com/blog/strange-unusual- ... BURY IT.
- kete00, on 10/11/2007, -10/+3I don't know if Adobe(R) would appreciate this improper use of their name. Shouldn't it say something like, "25 Old houses built using Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) technology"?
