- walmartconnect, on 10/23/2007, -12/+118I hope that you don't discover your offspring to be dead before you, someone might come along and say "Good, one less future piece of trash."
- jmoh, on 10/23/2007, -12/+99=( Im gonna go look at kittens now to cheer me up.
- FishHammer, on 10/23/2007, -5/+91I can't even imagine how he must have felt. Cops are people too and none of you would be making smartass remarks if it was a paramedic in the same situation. Sometimes Digg users go way beyond edgy and into downright disrespectful.
- TenebrousX, on 10/22/2007, -14/+79welcome to my block list
- andrewcsayer, on 10/22/2007, -9/+73very sad =(
- Munceenuts, on 10/22/2007, -9/+48You're a lot cooler in my book because you said "LOL" at somethnig sad. How rebellious of you.
- SweetChinMusic, on 10/23/2007, -14/+52Really?
- ZionicIon, on 10/22/2007, -19/+45Ass
- Hoxie, on 10/22/2007, -4/+25A similar event happened in my town. A police office was called to the scene of a domestic disturbance, at which point he determined it was his father and some other woman.
- JC4P, on 10/22/2007, -2/+23can i get a link
- RedHerringHack, on 10/22/2007, -3/+23Yep, parents worst nightmare. Poor guy. You sick little people that LOLd; if you were serious, find some help. If not, you will never be anything but noise.
- wilcocola, on 10/22/2007, -2/+21They're the car that the american pontiac gto is based on. Answer: Very Very Fast
- icegoddess13, on 10/22/2007, -1/+18rescue people have to answer these kinds of calls all the time, but if you're called to a site and it's your own family, that's a whole other story. my uncle is a firefighter and was called when i was in a bad car wreck, i've never in my 21 years seen him that upset, but he was just glad we weren't hurt anymore than we were...

- Cyberbladewolf, on 10/22/2007, -2/+16You are one of the few people that really make me want to be able to click the thumbs down button more then once.
- twinklyJesus, on 10/22/2007, -1/+15Um, *****, this story is from Australia.
- RdHrd138, on 10/22/2007, -0/+12From the article:
"He went to a motor vehicle accident and the tragedy of being confronted with his own son is beyond description."
I can't even imagine the shock you would get to find your kid is the one involved in the fatal accident you were called to. Poor man, I hope he's going to be mentally alright. - FishHammer, on 10/22/2007, -3/+15You're not anonymous, and going on 4chan doesn't suddenly remove any effect your words can have on people. Grow up.
- Books, on 10/22/2007, -1/+13***** man, even for ***** nerds....you guys have got to know when to draw the ***** line. You don't "laugh" at these types of situations, just plain old stupid.
- AmICoolNow, on 10/22/2007, -1/+11http://cuteoverload.com
- QueEsAmor, on 10/22/2007, -0/+9I used to laugh at the people who said humanity was doomed, but after reading some of these comments, I'm warming up to the idea.
- mvent2, on 10/22/2007, -1/+10I should come and steal ***** from your house. Then you'll probably appreciate police officers more.
- walkar, on 10/22/2007, -2/+11Still, a huge difference between the call and actually coming upon the body of your child.
- inactive, on 10/22/2007, -3/+11Yeah, thanks for that useful bit of information pal.
- luet, on 10/23/2007, -6/+14I would really like to punch you in the neck
- ButterBuddha, on 10/22/2007, -8/+16I wonder how fast Holden Commodore's are...
- latrosicarius, on 10/22/2007, -0/+8Not really. An accident just means it was unintentional. It doesn't matter if someone is at fault or not. If I accidentally step on your foot, it's still my fault for not looking where I step. Unless you put your foot there to trip me. Then it would be your fault. But it's still an accident.
- rnwen2750, on 10/22/2007, -0/+7So if your dad's a cop you deserve to die?
- luftrofl, on 10/22/2007, -4/+11I'll second that and add this: They're not a car that a stupid teenager should be driving.
- richardsimpson, on 10/22/2007, -3/+10I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, but I know too many officers son's & daughters who think they can get away with murder. They speed and drink drive and just act like there are no rules. I think cop's need to better educate there children, I mean none of the occupants of the car were even qualified to drive. Just because your dad is a cop does not mean you are above the law.
- Hayaemsay, on 10/22/2007, -2/+8It's interesting, as well as being an amazing coincidence.
- bryceman111, on 10/22/2007, -1/+7Obviously, this is a horrible story, and I am sorry that it happened. I think if anything, this should be used to teach people about the dangers of being an unexperienced driver, not following the law. Neither passenger was allowed to supervise the driver, which means he was driving illegally. This is the reason we make these laws.
I really do hope the officer and his family are alright. This is very sad. - santiago1, on 10/22/2007, -8/+14 This is one reason I decided not to go into Law Enforcement after the Army.
My hat's off to the officer and his family. It's a very tough job, indeed. - inactive, on 10/23/2007, -6/+12Here in Australia the Police are mates. Not taser-toting freedom-hating ***** like in America.
- AriaStar, on 10/22/2007, -4/+10WTF
- opiniastrous, on 10/22/2007, -7/+13Trogdor, you are a moron. This is a tragedy, regardless of who the man is. Take your half-baked American rebelliousness and shove it. We don't stand for that ***** here in Australia, and none of your moronic buddies are going to come to your aid and start bagging these people if the people on this comments page have anything to do about it.
- AriaStar, on 10/28/2007, -3/+9You're an *****. A good officer would be a parent first and mourn his son rather than be like, "Well, gotta go file the paperwork after seeing my kid scraped off pavement." Do you really think he'd even be in the proper mental state to do the paperwork right? Maybe if he had no heart or love for his son, in which case you'd still insult him.
- gmprunner, on 10/23/2007, -3/+8Especially when all you get for doing it is trash talk from lots of the generalizing pricks on Digg.
- rnwen2750, on 10/22/2007, -1/+6Regardless of what the cop may or may not have "deserved," certainly his transgressions did not merit the death of his son.
- lastthingusee, on 10/22/2007, -0/+5These comments are just sick. I'm not the biggest fan of cops, but come on. The guy's kid died and you all say he deserved it?
Go throw yourself off a bridge. If you can't respect other people then you don't deserve to be respected. - latrosicarius, on 10/22/2007, -2/+7Because all cops in the USA beat minorities, and all cops in other countries never do. /s
- Mikau735, on 10/22/2007, -5/+10Deserved it? What the ***** is wrong with you.
- fweepa, on 10/22/2007, -3/+8http://www.addictinggames.com/kittencannon.html
- granite1, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4That's just sad I can't imagine how devastating something like this would be
- inactive, on 10/29/2007, -2/+6That makes no sense. If he could care less that means he cares a lot.
Some people here really are quite stupid. - benny87, on 10/22/2007, -3/+7Please don't write "Very sad." in your story description. I understood that the story is sad after reading the title.
Just a general rule of thumb. - watcht, on 10/22/2007, -2/+6http://dru.pl/blog/kociaki,id,350.html
- Wuffles, on 10/25/2007, -0/+4I've blocked an amazing amount of people on this thread...
This is Austrailia, local cops like this aren't issued with tasers. What the ***** is wrong with you spineless diggers? - Myonosken, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4@largetrout: Tell the fundamentalists that.
- Sophistifunk, on 10/22/2007, -0/+4Happens more often than you'd expect in rural NSW.
