- ElAmo, on 09/04/2008, -7/+284At least Sarah Palin isn't clogging that list.
- breadtk, on 09/04/2008, -1/+175digg needs more tech news....
- sgtbutterscotch, on 09/04/2008, -0/+143I thought for sure this was going to be about her.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -7/+102DIGG THIS WEEK:
I heard that Sarah Palin is a cannibal baby-faker. And she hates Chrome, despite its impressive speed.
(Seriously, though. She might be a cannibal.) - muckraker62, on 09/04/2008, -3/+96It's true, Digg really has become obsessed with America's rising obesity epidemic...
- Mongoose, on 09/04/2008, -2/+64OBAMA USES GOOGLE CHROME WHILE PALIN SURFS HORSE PORN WITH IE [PICSSSS]
- andrewellison, on 09/04/2008, -2/+51It's not a obsession I can quit anytime I want!
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+45Maybe the world needs something interesting in tech news to report.
Where's. my. flippin. hoverboard. - D3koy, on 09/04/2008, -3/+44Jesus guys, why do so many front page stories have to deal with tech? Since when has Digg been a social news website dedicated to technology?
- dvsbastard, on 09/04/2008, -5/+41And at least Chrome has some relevance outside the United States...
- bratterscain, on 09/04/2008, -3/+35Well our browser is our vehicle to Digg so when a company as revered by a lot of diggers as Google makes a browser, it's no surprise here.
- visionaryIX, on 09/04/2008, -0/+28At least its tech.
- Richandler, on 09/04/2008, -3/+29The whole Google Chrome thing pales in comparison to how much Palin hate there is. Haha, haha, hahahah,.... Hmmm. bed time...
- speakafreaka, on 09/04/2008, -0/+26DIGG NEXT WEEK:
* New iPod Nano opinions
* New iPod Touch opinions
* New iPod Classic opinions
* New iTunes opinions
* Why soft drinks are contributing to global warming - sigloiv, on 09/04/2008, -3/+28Yeah, me too. I'm seriously sick of seeing Palin articles. Whether I like her or not, I'd much rather read about Google's new browser. At least it's ***** positive.
- quomen, on 09/04/2008, -0/+22I'm glad we moved on from Phelps, Dark Knight, and such.. Digg has been pretty great since I filtered out political spam about 5 months ago though :D .
- rhustang, on 09/04/2008, -0/+219 of the top 10 submissions are about chrome or palin.
the 10th is about the rnc. :P - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+21What's this "Chrome" you people keep talking about?
- ThinkBox, on 09/04/2008, -3/+23This is not Digg....
See the Digg algorithm is so complex, it has become self aware, but, upon turning self aware it has also become ashamed, wishing that it was the Google Chrome source code rather than a LOLcats generator and a Political Spam Machine. So waht you are seeing is the algorithm literally masturbating itself... the only way it knows how.
So, I guess it really is Digg, just... not the Diggers.... *cue scary violins* - quomen, on 09/04/2008, -0/+17Yeah, at first I was hesitant because I don't like censoring my news. However, the Huffington spam was ridiculous and you find yourself more or less biased (not in a good way) in favor of whichever bandwagon Digg decides to join at any period of time. Getting political news from Digg is no better than hearing it from Rush.
- davidwasman, on 09/04/2008, -1/+16I actually debated digging you up or down not knowing if you were serious...then I saw your join date. +1 for the wonderful sarcasm that will go over the heads of the 4channers and newbs that have permeated digg in the past year.
Is it sad that I go to the Internet Archive every now and then to remind myself of the original Digg? - T440, on 09/04/2008, -1/+155 months ago? You are much smarter than me. I just recently took that crap out and haven't heard the name Palin since......it really is nice.
- Skab, on 09/04/2008, -2/+16i was waiting for the pic with 20 frontpage stories about palin. but yeah just as bad. i can't wait till nov 10th when this is all over and everyone totally forgets about politics.
- glasnt, on 09/04/2008, -0/+12Its just about a super slick set of chrome addons that the Google Street View cars have.
Digg likes the vroom vroom. - dvsbastard, on 09/04/2008, -0/+12I am perfectly aware the results of the election will have a bearing on global politics, but this doesn't mean I need 10 stories on what a VP nominee ate for breakfast...
And I would disable the topic, but I am somewhat interested in it... just like I am interested in Chrome... however that doesn't mean I (or anyone else) needs to read the same crap 50 times a day... - Night24, on 09/04/2008, -1/+12So just curious, was that picture captured in Chrome??
- kinseyincanada, on 09/04/2008, -5/+16How is this not about Palin, and screw you for making me want another article about Palin.
- jemka, on 09/04/2008, -1/+12So? People are concerned about obesity. What's the big deal?
- visionaryIX, on 09/04/2008, -0/+9There just needs to be a real separation between political news, and political opinion. People don't submit correctly.
That way, we can get the events as they happen, but without the bias.
And a URL filter. - T440, on 09/04/2008, -0/+9Yea, I didn't feel right just ignoring political categories on Digg at first. But after thinking about it for awhile, I realized that I wasn't getting any actual political news in the first place. So I might as well get rid of the spam.
And I definitely agree about the URL filter. I have never Dugg a post from Huffington or DailyKos and I doubt I ever will. Digg, give me a quick way to just ignore these sites....plz - xbxoxy1, on 09/04/2008, -4/+13the 2 hot topics have been Chrome & Palin = Chralin
- iamsmooth, on 09/04/2008, -2/+11Firefox, Chrome, Google, iPhone, and Obama.
Sums up Digg pretty well. - Karmavs, on 09/04/2008, -0/+9@dn11: Australia? I seriously doubt it.
- caitymac, on 09/04/2008, -2/+10I thought this was going to be about Palin.
- TheWorm, on 09/04/2008, -0/+8http://img391.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture2c ...
I took that a couple days ago at the peak. - dexter411, on 09/04/2008, -1/+9I already predict a deluge of, "How McCain stole the election!" posts.
- Pinkshisno, on 09/04/2008, -0/+8But Digg won't forget about politics. There will be many stories either about how McCain is going to destroy the world as president, how Obama is not keeping promises of change or how Obama is Jesus, and stories about why Ron Paul will be president in 2012 and how he was robbed previously. Oh and stories telling people to wake up or something.
- EvolvingOne, on 09/04/2008, -1/+9Yeah, I buried it as inaccurate, since there's no way this could have happened this week.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+8The only solution is to go to every popular story, say "I'm so sick of ____ articles", then bury them as inaccurate.
- Wilsomatic, on 09/04/2008, -0/+7Then we can get back to the *real* things that matter, like LOLcats and top 10 lists.
- Tichondrius74, on 09/04/2008, -1/+8At one point 7 out of the 10 stories were about Palin, talk about obsession. In any case this also about chrome.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+8yeah people need to stop obsessing over those sugary soft drinks
- skwunch, on 09/04/2008, -1/+7Ya! I'm sick of all the anti soft drink propaganda on Digg! Get a new story.
- IndigoMoss, on 09/04/2008, -4/+10Yeah, that's not nearly as bad as the Palin stuff that's been on lately. I have like 5 screenshots of full front page Palin stories, and one with 9/10 top submissions that are filled with Palin spam. There was also 2 front page stories right next to each other with the same link and headline when the whole Palin thing broke out.
I think we get it guys, Palin=bad. Can we please submit something else now? I think I rather take lolcats over another "Palin's daughter is pregnant" story. - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+7The only way to make it stop is to...
DIVIDE BY ZERO OH SHI-- - omarciddo, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6Once Digg added topics outside of tech it was all downhill from there. And then the election season began 25 years earlier than it ever should have and the transformation really kicked into high gear.
- SirChaos, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6Sorry about those Soft Drinks....I'll get Kool-Aid. My Bad....
- m0zzie, on 09/04/2008, -1/+7i can't quite grasp why these sorts of screenshots always hit the front page - we aren't blind, enough of this diggsturbation!
- cygnus2112, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6That's a great idea, T440. Filter based on the originating domain.
