- serobill, on 06/06/2009, -7/+102It was nun of her business anyway.
Thank you, I'm here all week try the veal. - Gguillorn, on 06/06/2009, -2/+38Making puns that revolve around nuns is a bad habit.
- Ymeg, on 06/06/2009, -3/+31I bet she was wielding a ruler. You have to be careful around those nuns.
- jaydedrag0n, on 06/07/2009, -2/+29JUDGE: How do you plead?
DEFANDANT: I'm a nun
JUDGE: Case dismissed.... - thenativeraver, on 06/06/2009, -9/+34What?!
You mean the cop didn't taze her?
:-o - anotherjack, on 06/07/2009, -3/+23The cops have every right to shoot a guy waving weapons, and I bet you a donut and a bible that the nun interceded to prevent that from happening. The kind of nuns in her order don't usually contradict authority and almost exclusively serve the poor. As in feed them, clothe them, give them beds, medical care - they are frequently the only ones tending to the homeless. Cops are in charge of punishing the homeless for infractions and have a bad habit of waking you up by smacking a club on the end of your bench. I doubt the cops were about to be very nice to the bum with the knife, and I do think it's possible she may have saved his life. Don't get so bogged down in hating the church that you hate people doing something good as well as bad. Don't forget the Selma marchers.
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -21/+40Should have tasered that bitch back to the old testament
- CeltiCowboy, on 06/06/2009, -12/+31Cops HATE it when you dis-respect their a-thori-tie!
- wh3873, on 06/07/2009, -1/+18I'm done reading the comments. You win.
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -8/+24AN EPIC DIGG CONUNDRUM! SIDE WITH RELIGION OR SIDE WITH THE POLICE!
In all seriousness - there is no reason for her to have gotten in the way. Based on the small bits from the article, it sounds like police were following proper procedure. - contemplative, on 06/06/2009, -12/+27Don't be fooled by that dishtowel on her head. Nuns can be vicious.
- SSPink, on 06/06/2009, -3/+14"Sister Margaret was not jailed"
RTFA - bpwrinn, on 06/07/2009, -1/+10I think she did what she thought was right. Maybe she had the wrong idea or it was a misunderstanding, but I think people are making this a big issue just because she's a nun.
- bubbaliscious, on 06/07/2009, -0/+8Why?
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -3/+11Nun: "Stop!"
Cop: "Damn, it's going to be one of those days, confronting an ice-pick wielding homeless person and a nun" - scottelloco, on 06/07/2009, -1/+8It's interesting that the writer goes into detail about the nun's actions, but writes nothing about how the police were handling the situation with the homeless man. Did the nun feel she needed to act because the police were making the situation worse?
- c3rb85, on 06/07/2009, -1/+8I just wish the article would actually elaborate more of what happened besides homeless guy with an ice pick, and a nun that got in the way.
- americanhelot, on 06/07/2009, -1/+8The problem with the police is they shoot first, shoot again, shoot some more, and if anyones left alive or not tasered or beaten unconscious, then they may talk with someone or ask some questions. If they attempted to do their job, which is keep the peace, instead of enforcing the law with the heel of their boot, they'd get a hell of alot more respect from everyone and wouldn't have nuns getting in their face.
- bpwrinn, on 06/07/2009, -1/+7judging from your recent comments, it's quite obvious that you're the expert on stupidity.
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -1/+7Don't think I'm going to applaud you for that hideous pun. You'll get nun of that from me.
- chakl, on 06/07/2009, -0/+6its AU-THORI-TAH, get it right.
- SSPink, on 06/07/2009, -5/+11Ah, America: Where you get bonus points for believing in ***** that just ain't true.
- mksmothers, on 06/07/2009, -4/+9The nun knew that the police were more dangerous than some homeless man with an ice-pick.
- AnimaStomp, on 06/07/2009, -2/+7Don't ***** with nuns.
- AaronCo, on 06/07/2009, -4/+9She stood between the 2, ending the fight and preventing an escalation of violence. Good on her. It is not morally wrong to interfere with police if they're doing something stupid.

Seriously? - arcangelgabriel, on 06/07/2009, -0/+5How is freshman year anyway?
- keloyd, on 06/07/2009, -3/+7When was the last time any of us, myself included, put themselves in harm's way to protect a person whom they do not know and can never return the favor?
I agree with Scottelloco, the lack of detail about the actions of the police reflects behavior that was high handed at best. Alas, the Church has been comforting the afflicted, sometimes imperfectly, sometimes in fits and starts, sometimes well, sometimes with cajones, sometimes in spite of its leadership, for 20 centuries. - 1hrSleep, on 06/07/2009, -4/+8I don't know, this doesn't seem like a cop bashing thread. Everyone can clearly see that the nun was being stupid and getting in the way. "Don't hurt him! Blah, blah, blah!" sort of thing.
- anotherjack, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4@keloyd, if anybody will dig you down its likely because of taking up so much space at the bottom of your post. Always be sure to delete any blank space. ( delete key is for once the appropriately labeled button for that ). You can also repost the same thing and the good version will be dugg up accordingly. That being said I agree. Too few people put their money where their mouth is.
- ForeverXeros, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3You are both a geek and my ***** hero. I salute you.
- GamerXR72, on 06/07/2009, -2/+5You're right. I say they throw her into a community service program, like a homeless shelter.
- Rudegar, on 06/07/2009, -5/+8"homeless man armed with a knife and an ice pick"
obviously a dual wielder so the nun being the primary healer should
focus on the main tank who obviously would be using a shield
they were right to arrest the nun as she could just rest the dual wielder later on
dammit! - anotherjack, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3Nuns are problematic. The church requires that they adhere to some very unhelpful doctrines, yet they genuinely care for and treat the afflicted in ways that very few people have the courage to do. The "oppress the poor" part of a nuns mission is more philosophical, but for example unrestrained breeding can be seen as a tool of oppression. It was a good enough joke, I dugg it.
- Leezus, on 06/06/2009, -0/+2I here Gomorrah was named after an even weirder move.
- shrudheuie, on 06/07/2009, -0/+2They are probably worried that she may have convinced the guy to put everything down depriving the police of their opportunity to tase the ***** of someone.
- michaelpinto, on 06/07/2009, -2/+4I was referring to prosecuting her Pink Troll,,,
- reddfoxx1562, on 06/06/2009, -8/+10Was she flying?
- Shadic, on 06/06/2009, -7/+9With the exception of serobill, these comments suck.
/Contributing. - PopcornDave, on 06/07/2009, -0/+2It was done in the 60's: The Flying Nun http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061252/
- AaronCo, on 06/07/2009, -2/+4Obviously she proved there was a better way to handle the situation. Not all violence needs to be met with violence.
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -1/+3probably the dumbest thing ever posted.
Do you know anything abut nuns? - keloyd, on 06/07/2009, -0/+2whoops! I don't know where all that space in my post came from, it was not intentional - my bad.
- bubbaliscious, on 06/07/2009, -1/+2Living a life of service for others is far from stupid.
- charlie55, on 06/07/2009, -0/+1well, to be fair, they live life in service of magic.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1"Nuns can be vicious".
You got that right. I went to Catholic school from grades 1 thru 4 and they kicked my ass on more than one occasion. I was not a trouble maker either. One time I was late for school as I had to cross railroad tracks to get there and a train was going by. I was in 2nd grade and was all of 5 minutes late. When I arrived in class the nun sent me up to the principal's office. She lead me into a little room behind her office and grabbed me by one hand and proceeded to beat me with a wooden pointer. She had me running in circles around her trying to protect my butt with my free hand and by the time she was finished my hands were bloodied and bruised. All of this for a 7 year old boy late for school because a train was blocking the way. Damn frustrated old bitches. - inactive, on 06/07/2009, -4/+5oh my god...cops versus people who believe in a higher power. Two groups of peopole that diggers hate due to their own lack of self confidence. How will this play out?
- deetank, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1Obviously this nun is the wild-card in her group.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1You need to either re-read what I wrote or go back and take reading comprehension. The problem is not with ONE pastor or ONE Church...
- DoubtfulSalmon, on 06/07/2009, -1/+2Don't taze me, uh, sister!
