- Lucas123, on 12/16/2008, -62/+932There should be a law. That's just child abuse. It's worse than forcing your kid to wear a KKK hood and robe to school every day because he can't take this hood off. Sick parents indeed.
- inactive, on 12/16/2008, -27/+737also... um, shouldn't these parents have been shot? i mean, honestly, the hell this kid will go through growing up. he'll probably end up a suicide victim or an axe murderer. seriously. they might as well have just named him ***** McRapistPants or something
- 10goto10, on 12/16/2008, -19/+638ZE CAKE IS A LIE!!
- ulb1963, on 12/16/2008, -4/+490"The couple's other two children are named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell."
Yikes. - squishee, on 12/16/2008, -3/+400I bet they didn't order a chocolate cake...
- Falldog, on 12/16/2008, -47/+429By not allowing parents to name children Adolph Hitler, Adolph Hitler wins.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -10/+356Dugg for ***** McRapist Pants.
- inactive, on 12/16/2008, -13/+319What sane person would name their kid "Adolph Hitler"?
- Evilstanley, on 12/17/2008, -4/+302JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell?? Are you kidding me?
- wishninja, on 12/17/2008, -3/+267"Adolf Hitler was born at the Gasthof zum Pommer, an inn in Braunau am Inn, Austria-Hungary, on 20 April 1889, the fourth child of six. His father, Alois Hitler (1837–1903), was a customs official. His mother, Klara Pölzl (1860–1907), was Alois' third wife."
There you have it the last sane people to name their child Adolf Hitler. - SpectralSounds, on 12/16/2008, -32/+268No, there should not be a law. Parents should be able to name their kids whatever they want. Sure, the parents who named this kid are complete tools, but that's beside the point. Why should any of us lose our rights to name our children as we see fit because of a few dumbasses?
Stop trying to legislate stupidity. Intelligent people shouldn't have to suffer lost rights because of idiots. - TJMcWhiskers, on 12/16/2008, -2/+219A business doesn't HAVE to make someone a cake.
- PoizonFrog, on 12/16/2008, -31/+239Luckily, his brother George Bush gets most of the asskickings when they're @ school...
- inactive, on 12/16/2008, -8/+216I don't know about a law... people are allowed to be idiots. Unfortunately it's the kid that has to live with their idiocy.
- jstem1994, on 12/17/2008, -0/+201"He sounded surprised by all the controversy the dispute had generated."
He sounds pretty stupid too. - marky7186, on 12/17/2008, -2/+189__{}___{}____{}____{}____{}__

- wishninja, on 12/17/2008, -2/+176white cake with white frosting and blond sprinkles and blue lettering
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+171I'm going to name my kid StopIHaveABomb and chase him around airports calling out his name.
- holyskeleton, on 12/17/2008, -7/+171"The Campbells say they don't understand what the big deal is."
have them put in a death camp, then they'll know what the ***** big deal is. - johnandlandry, on 12/17/2008, -0/+142Who the hell puts their middle name on a birthday cake anyway?
- Lucas123, on 12/16/2008, -11/+144Hey, if you're of age and want to change your name to something offensive, I agree. Have at it. But to do that to a child -- I just don't think it's a freedoem of speech thing.
- inactive, on 12/16/2008, -1/+128do you mean... the ACLU?
- Hetman, on 12/16/2008, -14/+136The parents should have the right to name their kids Adolf Hitler. However It is just a really ignorant idea. But freedom is also the freedom to be stupid. When the child grows up hopefully he will realize how ignorant his family is and move out and start a better life somewhere else. And probably change his name.
- danj321, on 12/17/2008, -0/+115I'd rather be named Hitler than, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell
- inactive, on 12/16/2008, -2/+98That poor kid. He shouldn't be punished for his ignorant parents.
- Radica1Faith, on 12/17/2008, -3/+96I disagreed with you at first. I thought well Adolf Hitler is just a name, and when you automatically associate the dictator with the name then you are just giving him power ( okay I know this is impossible not to do). Kind of like how the swastika has had many meanings before being the symbol for nazism. But now the swastika is now only a symbol for hate. I thought that maybe these parents were merely trying to break that power away.
That is, until I saw that they named one of their daughters JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell. - scotchw, on 12/17/2008, -1/+87Interesting related gallery of pics:
http://photos.lehighvalleylive.com/gallery/4424/Ad ... - mogdor, on 12/17/2008, -2/+86"ShopRite can't even make a cake for a 3-year-old," mother Deborah Campbell said."That's sad."
She's raising children to hate and she thinks THAT is sad? WTF is wrong with people, their kids should be taken away for psychological abuse. In a family like that there's probably physical abuse too. - dreamincode, on 12/17/2008, -5/+8725 years later: Lil' Adolf marries a Jew.
- punkcat, on 12/17/2008, -0/+81the kid was named Adolf just to start this kind of trouble.
they've been waiting to say " I don't understand what the big deal is" since he was born. - jwolcott, on 12/17/2008, -5/+86Did you mean penis?
- diemunkiesdie, on 12/17/2008, -4/+84They name their other kid JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and they expect me to believe they aren't racist?!?! If they had just one kid named Adolf, I might have believed that they are not racist (though I'd assume they lost a bet or something, a really REALLY BIG BET). But this isn't baseball, two strikes are enough for me! Adolf Hitler and Aryan Nation!!!! Sometimes I just can't understand the gall of some people!!!!!!!!
- TalahRama, on 12/17/2008, -11/+90I definitely agree with not legislating stupidity, but this isn't an issue of a person being an idiot and harming themselves. The parents are damaging their child, who has absolutely no control over this situation that he is being put in. A child is a person and it is wrong for parents to treat one like property or a smaller version of themselves.
It is abuse. The child never chose to have this name and will be teased mercilessly and will have a massive disadvantage in life (not just until 18 - the effects of verbal abuse last) because the parents chose to use their child to further their warped world view rather than treat him like a living, thinking human. - ileftfark, on 12/17/2008, -3/+82I know - 'JoyceLynn' is *so* Kentucky-sounding!
- czeman, on 12/17/2008, -0/+77Someone who names their child after one of the biggest ***** to ever walk the face of the earth.
- grumpyrain, on 12/17/2008, -0/+77asskickings? nah, they just throw their shoes at him.
- CHICKImonkey, on 12/17/2008, -2/+75This is what is going to happen when he gets an xbox.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfkDxF2kn1I - jeffiek, on 12/16/2008, -2/+72Bingo. You got it.
The poor kid would still be stuck with ***** for parents even if they weren't allowed to name him Adolf. Only then they would be pissed off parents.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Good luck kid, you'll need it. - ApocDozer, on 12/17/2008, -2/+69sane people?
Alois Hitler beat Adolf Hitler's brother and abused him until he finally ran away and didn't come back. Alois Hitler then turned the abuse to Adolf after his brother left. This as well as other things Alois did to his family would contradict that statement. - kds405, on 12/17/2008, -5/+72Being tragically ghetto doesn't really match up with being a neo-Nazi.
- vdogg89, on 12/17/2008, -2/+67hitler has 2 moms???!?!?!
- JGUSMC7, on 12/17/2008, -1/+63There is a sign that says they reserve the right to refuse service, isn't that the norm in any store.
- souljaboytellem, on 12/17/2008, -2/+62"Sorry ma'am try Goldstein's Bakery, it's right across the street"
"......................." - inactive, on 12/17/2008, -2/+62Actually, many countries around the world do have laws against parents choosing improper names for their child which could humiliate the kid or cause any serious trouble.
In most cases parents can challenge the decision in a court, if they still deem their choice appropriate. - pyro108, on 12/17/2008, -7/+67Props for "***** McRapistPants".
- izolutionz, on 12/17/2008, -1/+58For all that were too lazy to read the article:
"Karen Meleta, a spokeswoman for ShopRite, said the Campbells had similar requests denied at the same store the last two years and said Heath Campbell previously had asked for a swastika to be included in the decoration."
Clearly, the name isn't the problem. - torchednoodle, on 12/17/2008, -2/+55umm who, hitler?
- b3astie, on 12/17/2008, -10/+63It was even harder for my Italian friend, Bigus Dickus.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+52If someone doesn't want to make me a cake they have not violated my rights as an individual, so no, ACLU has no reason to interfere.
