- yeeaauuh, on 11/12/2009, -3/+53Sadly, I don't think this would be possible with Americans.
- hokie47, on 11/12/2009, -2/+32Can someone tell me what we are doing over there anyway. All I see is that we go from village to village, some old man lies to us but there is nothing we can do, so we drive to the next village while hopefully while not getting blowup by some IDE while getting there and repeat the same stupid process. Bin Laden is not even around these area or hell we are not even 100% sure if he is still alive. At least we should use helicopter teams to go from village to village it would prevent us from getting blow up from IDE, and I doubt they still have many working stinger missiles still left. Why are we wasting lives over there when there is no clear attainable goal? Where is the ***** change Obama?
- hokie47, on 11/12/2009, -0/+25My bad I am so used to writing IDE and not IED. Yeah things that blow up
- ifruit, on 11/12/2009, -1/+24***** you, two of my friends died when their SCSI drive blew up.
- EvilJelloMan, on 11/12/2009, -3/+25Yeah I hate when I get blown up by old hard drives. Serves you right for sticking with ancient technology. You should have upgraded to SATA.
- settlesdown, on 11/12/2009, -5/+23I'd rather be fat than have those crooked yellow scum-plates that you limeys call teeth.
- Nintendesert, on 11/12/2009, -2/+18He gains weight.
- ArrowheadAddict, on 11/12/2009, -0/+15This is pretty awesome. He's a walking, breathing memorial. I bet those names are pretty small, though. No way you could do this with Iraq, though.
- foucaultsvac, on 11/12/2009, -3/+18And Democrat. They voted for the war too.
- Evari, on 11/12/2009, -17/+30Americans are quite fat...
- gerryk, on 11/12/2009, -0/+13Not at all... skin him and tan the hide... maybe make a cushion out of it
- MissDeFacto, on 11/12/2009, -1/+14He's not asking for everyone to endorse him or give their stamps of approval; he said it's his way of supporting his country's troops. I think it's commendable that he's raising money to help soldiers heal. Are the negative comments really necessary? Like many, I do not support the wars, but I do support the people who have dedicated themselves to their country. Instead of ragging on this man, shouldn't we all be asking ourselves what we're doing to support people who have taken an oath to protect us?
- jdyme1, on 11/12/2009, -1/+12Much respect
- inactive, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11Impressive memorial.
- dstachio, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11Some people are missing the point. Doing something for soldiers to show your thanks. I served and did my time and the one thing I can remember that a simple hand shake and a thank you when I was just sitting at the airport was a great thing.
- SpruceCaboose, on 11/12/2009, -2/+11Generally they are being thanked for risking their lives for the citizenry of the country they serve.
And if that is attention whoring, what is trolling? - amanraj, on 11/12/2009, -0/+9At least someone would remember these soldiers always, hats off the effort, this is a great initiative.
- funkedup, on 11/12/2009, -1/+10What happens when he runs out of room?
- settlesdown, on 11/12/2009, -1/+9I love this. You would NEVER say that to my face. I'd be beating your ass before you could finish your sentence.
- ifruit, on 11/12/2009, -1/+8LOL, when he gains weight it's just going to stretch the other names across his fat body. It's not going to create any more space.
- yunus, on 11/12/2009, -0/+6@generalobvious
We don't want you to feel sorry for us. We signed the contract, we are a volunteer force. We signed up to do something for the greater good.
What maintains the freedoms you have today if not the bravery of your countries military? - askantik, on 11/12/2009, -1/+7What the ***** does this have to do with liberal or conservative? If anything, most conservatives (at least the politicians and by extension, those who vote for them) seem to think nothing of sending more troops to their deaths needlessly.
- chevriley, on 11/12/2009, -0/+6http://www.justgiving.com/shaun-clarkhelptheheroes
link to his fundraising page - marciot, on 11/12/2009, -1/+6Wow. Has this guy ever been to the Vietnam Memorial? For this guy's sake and for the sake of the troops in Afghanistan, I hope it never gets to be that big.
- A5204, on 11/12/2009, -6/+11Why are they killing names in Afghanistan?
- VinnieDaMac, on 11/12/2009, -3/+8Yes, immortalized until he dies.
- fms45, on 11/12/2009, -2/+7Very unusual way to immortalise names of soldiers.
- eh123, on 11/12/2009, -7/+12Not as fat as the Brits. Look it up.
- cocainxbluez, on 11/12/2009, -1/+6Opium
- radhikaseth, on 11/12/2009, -1/+5Dedicated eh!
- christoast, on 11/12/2009, -7/+11Sure whatever, my point is real action is always better than doing nothing. If anything stops the war it will be the goodness of people not some kind of "God"
- oldhick, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4So how long until we vote again? People just voted and nothing changed... If anything more soldiers are going. In between voting, can people pray?
- foucaultsvac, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4Why is it assumed that if he's praying to God it means he's automatically not acting in a concrete way on it? They're not mutually exclusive things.
- sh0rtstop00, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4holy *****, the font looks nice
- richi, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4That's gotta hurt
- veriix, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3Thanks :)
- gagoono, on 11/12/2009, -1/+4Rofl what freedoms?
- askantik, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3You're an idiot, and I shouldn't oblige you the time, but I will do your retarded quiz anyway.
1) B. However, in no way do I see our men and women in Iraq or Afghanistan as "protecting America." We shouldn't be fighting a war if it's not to protect our own country and people. Period. Right now all we are doing is further inflaming extremists by occupying showing up on their doorsteps.
2) C. I'm not 12 years old.
3) A. See explanation for #2.
4) This is not a legitimate question. If deployed to DEFEND America, then I'd be proud to serve my country. Otherwise, it's *****. This is why it's called the Department of DEFENSE. Not the Department of Go to Other Places and Start *****. - Cymon86, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3Nice try at politicizing something not meant to be political. Douche.
That said, I seriously doubt this has anything to do with PTSD. This is an act of a soldier carrying with him a representation of his brothers that paid the ultimate price. Don't slam him because this is his chosen method of honoring and remembering. - hokie47, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2That is because we supplied the Afghans with thousands of stinger missiles. The vast majority of those missiles do not work and we have much better counter measures than the Russians ever had back then. I would take my chance against a 25 year old stinger missile over some IED anyday. Our army would love if they try to fire at us with small arms fire. It tells us where they are, and normally they miss. Basically we will blow them away before they get off a 2nd shot. Overall I would take the speed and surprise of the helicopter
- vertigoacid, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2What about all the innocent Afghanis who have died?
- joculator, on 11/12/2009, -2/+4What a porker...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/45 ...
I bet he had trouble with the ladies. - cfuse, on 11/13/2009, -0/+2I appreciate the sentiment, but wasn't it possible to find a tattooist with handwriting that didn't look like a shopping list? Seriously, this would look cleaner if it had been done in jail with a sharpened ballpoint.
- gl77, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2he's going to look back on this 40 years from now and think "WHAT THE ***** WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!?!"
- veriix, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2write them in the stretch marks.
- gerryk, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Oops... looks like a typo 15 from the top on the right side column
- mishabear, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2not likely - unless there are still soldiers dying there in 40 years!
- mishabear, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2What an offensive ***** moron you are. Liberals support the troops. They always have and always will. Most however DON'T support the CAUSE of them being there. You can respect the soldier and what he has to do and endure there but not respect the reasons for his having to be there in the first place.
Like askantik says, most Liberals support bringing soldiers home to their loved ones. Ask any soldier where they would rather be. Ask the families of those tattooed whether they would rather their loved one was home with them now or dead on the battlefield as they turned out to be. It's a no brainer. - rrprakash, on 11/12/2009, -1/+3Respect you...
- parcacik, on 11/12/2009, -1/+3How many innocent Afghan people you killed?
