- Podunkparte, on 05/16/2008, -3/+50I would high five this guy.
Come on, did they really expect them all to follow the rules. I'm graduating from college Sunday and if mine were at Yankee Stadium right before it's closed for good, I'd do the same thing. At least this guy has a great memory and story to tell. Totally worth it. Too bad he didn't get to slide. - Strungout, on 05/16/2008, -1/+38The picture accompanying the article is ***** win.
- charlesbihis, on 05/16/2008, -2/+31NYU rep says "dissappointing", cop says "you ruined your graduation"...
Wow, talk about taking things too seriously! - osabek, on 05/16/2008, -1/+28"Lopez, a Yankee and Met fan" - any New Yorker will tell you that's impossible
- CrimsonBlur, on 05/16/2008, -4/+23OK, I understand they had "rules" set up, but give me a break. There was absolutely no need for them to tackle him, what he was doing was obvious. They could have easily surrounded him and then just escorted him out. These guys take life way too seriously, it's not like there was a game going on.
I love how the officials and cops were all saying that he ruined graduation. "It is always disappointing to us when one member of our community thinks there's a special set of rules for him or her." What a bunch of *****. Some people just have the balls to do awesome stuff while everyone else just falls in line. I really feel sorry for people that can't have fun in life. He MADE the graduation, idiots. - gamesector, on 05/16/2008, -0/+17And his dad's comment in priceless: Lopez's father, Bob Lopez, said when he saw the figure running on the field, "My wife asked, 'Could that be William?' I said, 'No. That kid's an athlete."
- davidrsmith, on 05/16/2008, -2/+18epic.
although, epic fail on not making it to home. hope the cops didnt bother him too much for having fun. - _skin_, on 05/16/2008, -3/+16So is it a law that we just can not have any fun? Ever? Don't tackle me bro!
- QueenMary, on 05/16/2008, -3/+13Holy CRAP. I actually know that kid. Grew up with him at church. Always WAS embarrassed by him. Something told me to click this link....
He's a nice kid but this does not even remotely strike me as surprising. - rayjitsu, on 05/16/2008, -1/+11Lopez's father, Bob Lopez, said when he saw the figure running on the field, "My wife asked, 'Could that be William?' I said, 'No. That kid's an athlete."
No respect from the parents... - DuffyDirect, on 05/16/2008, -1/+11I don't like either of 'em. Yankees are like the skull and bones of baseball and the mets are the obnoxious long island princess team. wish the dodgers would move back :(
- AgentVladimir, on 05/16/2008, -0/+8Hey, it is the New York Post...
- dieboldcracy, on 05/16/2008, -2/+8It's a wonder the Yankees are in last place
- slantyeyed, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5that's called a fair weather fan . . . a band wagoneer. these people should be shot. pick you team and stick with it.
- vince916, on 05/16/2008, -1/+6Life's about collecting memories.
- 11familyguy11, on 05/16/2008, -1/+6Is the video linking to some surf video for anybody else?
- SoxFanNH, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Yanks and Mets fan... thats just weird from the start. What an idiot...
- Elliuotatar, on 05/16/2008, -2/+6I wonder if he'd have a case if he filed suit against them for assault.
- NoDivision, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Sometimes it amazes me how little a sense of humor people in administrative positions have, especially on a collegiate level.
- shutaro, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4I'd have kicked him out four! Just to make double sure...
- QueenMary, on 05/16/2008, -1/+5Why is it that difficult to believe? I'm a college student living in Glen Head, NY, 10 minutes from Manhassett (where Will is from), where I went to church until I was 17.
- QueenMary, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3I'm here in NY, and I'm a Mets fan, but if they don't win, I'd always rather the Yanks than anyone else. Subway Series ftw.
- alecsputnik, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3yer outa here!
- ccheath, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3that's pretty funny
- yacks, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3There's no tackling in Baseball!
- ParanoydAndroid, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3*****.
It's "too." It's not really that hard, I promise. - LLamaStar, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Epic
- ka2err, on 05/16/2008, -3/+5Somehow they manage to act more German than we are in Germany.
- kokoshka, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Who's that nice young lady that just covered up the entire viewing area of the page? I want to throw her severed head through a window at the nyposts web department.
- alvination, on 05/16/2008, -2/+4I like seeing people get tackled. I mean, all in good fun-there was no harm. But him getting tackled before home plate = fail.
- purelithium, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Check your browser, dude. I don't have any disembodied heads in mine.
- AzureRise, on 05/17/2008, -0/+2Their reaction is retarded. I remember my graduation we were constantly being berated with rules and threats of what would happen if we broke them. Constantly told we couldn't do certain things and that it was "all for us". All these things we wanted to do we couldn't do "for us". It's not for us it's for them. ***** them. The graduation ceremony is a bore and a ***** chore. If it was really for us we'd be able to you know, enjoy it.
- QueensGangsta, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3You really can't like both?
- joker10687, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2"NYU D-bag's Crave for Attention Leads to Erection at Yankee Stadium"
- shutaro, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I gotta give it up to William for being able to run with those gigantic balls in the first place. It's not as easy as it looks.
- bmd246, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Here's the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y47CNGyODJQ - Coolgamer, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1No, it links to some fashion show.
- raada, on 05/16/2008, -3/+4Hey. After this, people might actually watch a boring game of baseball...
- teh_techie, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Why no pants under the gown? WTF?
- codyman, on 05/16/2008, -2/+3Even Jesus hates the Yankees...
- nydwarf, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose...
- ablacksunrise, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1It's the new system... there could be many comments here, they're just camouflaged...
- AngeloM3, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1OH MY GOD! He's on the field! Totally just ruined the field! To the security people: There was no game going on. It's only grass and dirt
- Farmer77, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1You love Clinton...riiiiiiiight. Going through all this trouble to look bad, you probably would get a heart attack if Hillary became president.
- CompIsMyRx, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2Everyone should have gone on the field. That way, the cops couldn't really arrest them all.
- beloitpiper, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1And, uhh, how does this relate to the other comment at all?
- theBigYeti, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Yeah, it looks like it starts to load the video, but then fails to load and starts playing the next video in the queue, which is the surfing video
- iamchewy, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1I gotta give it up to William and his gigantic balls. Because what the article failed to mention was that Michael Strahan of the NY Giants was seated on the stage, as he was being given an award that day.
- purelithium, on 05/16/2008, -3/+3Really? Are you sure this isn't an Onion article? How is this news at all?
But I guess it's pretty cool that he almost made it... - melissanne08, on 05/18/2008, -0/+0I was there for the graduation, and trust me, the ceremony needed it! And as a baseball fan (even though I'm not fond of the Yankees) I have to say hats off to the kid for doing it. If I had the guts I would have too. I mean, he got to run around most of the bases of the freaking legendary Yankee Stadium, got cheered on by thousands of "fans" and even got a brief moment in the dugout, all for just a small trespassing fine. What more could a baseball fan ask for? Hats off. I commend the kid.
