- acrodev, on 05/12/2008, -0/+11Almost all of my black friends in New York have been stopped, searched, and fingerprinted. All of them and I know it's policy, and it was started by Guiliani.
- pintomp3, on 05/12/2008, -0/+8"The incident occurred as the NYPD is under fire for record numbers of pedestrians being stopped and frisked, the majority of them black or Hispanic. Some 145,098 people were stopped by the NYPD in the first quarter of this year." wtf. have civil rights and the 4th amendment been completely erased?
- theblueprint, on 05/12/2008, -1/+8I'm shocked they didn't shoot him 41 times.
- MurphyMac, on 05/11/2008, -0/+6He said she said. Without video nobody knows what really happened. End of story. But there's no doubt that racism thrives in its own special way within the nypd.
- cristina350, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5When a chief addresses you, you stand down. You don't question his authority and order him out of the car. This article gives a disclaimer " What happened next is in dispute" , yet gives a biased account to show that one of NYPDs highest ranked officer, was in the wrong. The actions of these pig headed cops are disgusting and should be dealt with accordingly.
- sephiroth965, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. sources said. (Yeah, they said it 11 times.) Please bury this example of terrible writing.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4Dear Kids,
Cops will violate your civil rights if you let them. If a Cop ever asks you a question. Give them your name ONLY and DO NOT ANSWER ANYTHING ELSE. Which is also the same thing as NOT giving them permission to physically search you and/or your property. Never answer anything but your name and only ask questions like "Are you detaining me and if not am I free to go?" "And if so why."
Any other correspondence with a cop after detainment should be, "I have the to remain silent until I talk to an attorney".
Its that fvking simple with these Crispy Creme eating douchbags - whoreable, on 05/11/2008, -1/+5The article contradicts itself by saying they had no reason to approach him and that he was parked near a fire hydrant. Either way these cops are pretty stupid.
- akkibaba, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4If a high-ranking NYPD cop can't get treated with respect, what is an average black man to do?
- smotpoker, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2Yeah... plus it's hard to tell at parts what is established fact and what is being contested by the people involved. Maybe they read the firehydrant as the excuse on the police report... it doesn't say how they know that particular "fact" but somehow they know the black cop said there was no reason to approach him - and decided to paraphrase it?
Crappily written article but dugg to get the word out. They are probably all lying to some degree so it is important that people realize how dishonest and reactionary many police can be if nothing else - lnf69, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2Although I agree with your sentiment, I'd like to add you cannot erase what has never actually existed, equal civil rights for all.
- AngeloM3, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2But if the off-duty Chief was Mr. or Ms. Smith with no affiliation to law enforcement... this story would of been swept under the rug and nothing done about it.
- lnf69, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2Your ignorance is surpassed only by your stupidity.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -2/+4He probably wasn't carrying a deadly wallet.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2that is because black people commit crimes
- acrodev, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1If they wanted to bust white people for drug possession, they'd be doing their stop-and-frisks around the Lower East Side bars on the weekends. I haven't seen that happen once.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1NYC pigs are a joke.
- Ninjao, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3Fail article, sources said.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2well if black culture didnt promote crime then they would have nothing worry about. Now this story is different because was ***** white cops ,but in normal life black people bring it on themselves.
- inactive, on 05/12/2008, -4/+2Funny, on the Amerikan Nazi news stations, the anchors always report, "The police said...", "The police said...", "The police said...", "The police said...", "The police said...", "The police said...", "The police said...", "The police said..."
Why do we need "news" stations if all they do is repeat what the police said?
