- Sanitarium, on 11/07/2007, -64/+593Never EVER use JPEG compression on a screen shot of text. PNG compression will have a smaller file size and look way better and won't be blurry.
- pintomp3, on 10/16/2007, -37/+355better yet, digg him down and make it inaccurate :)
- wvdavis, on 10/12/2007, -12/+189I still say pics or she does not exists.
- utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+130As I write this, the most dugg up comment is this one (with 1880 diggs)
http://digg.com/health/The_Complete_Ownage_of_a_Woman#c5260644
The one you claim to be most dugg has only 1827 diggs as of now:

There are so many possible issues at work here, your hard and fast rule doesn't work at all. Please stop spreading it like gospel. You are hurting the children... - Applemacmad, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58@om3ganet

First comment on there - ldkronos, on 10/22/2007, -1/+50Burried as spam. That digg website's just trying to get people to visit.
- ChrisJP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45@om3ganet and applemacmad: There's actually another comment with more diggs down than that, over 2000 actually...
http://digg.com/hardware/James_Kim_s_Body_Found#c4143973 DeezNutz420's comment there. - rompom7, on 10/22/2007, -5/+47I'm sure I've seen higher than that...
- twertyto, on 10/12/2007, -10/+49People shut up about the JPEG compression. Everyone can see the text in the photo just fine.
- turbod33, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37Way to watch diggnation!
- CountZer0Divide, on 10/12/2007, -6/+40You know Digg is getting lame when stories about which stories have been dugg are popular. no digg
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34Digging up comments about a girlfriend still did not get me laid.
- deivys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Funny thing is they are both girl related. Coincidence?
- dtd00d, on 10/12/2007, -8/+36I keep forgetting digg has ads on it...
- wrenchone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28As I write this,
http://digg.com/design/PICTURE_Geeky_Girlfriend_Makes_A_World_Of_Warcraft_Themed_B_Day_Cake
is in the lead with 5 diggs (1939)
Vs.
http://digg.com/health/The_Complete_Ownage_of_a_Woman#c5260644
with (1934)
Gentlemen (based on these two comments I know it's gentlemen), the race is on. - thebaron2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29That's an interesting screen shot - I never knew that Digg had an ad up there next to the story link.
Thank you, Firefox. - jockser, on 10/12/2007, -11/+35Digg me down!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Google T-Shirt and a Apple hat.
- fLUx1337, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23".....Didn't some of the Apple iPhone stories reach 10,000+ diggs?....."
yeh, they are STORIES, this is the most dugg COMMENT! - assum09, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22http://digg.com/health/The_Complete_Ownage_of_a_Woman 1st one has over 2k dugg ups
- om3ganet, on 10/12/2007, -10/+29How about most dugg down? I'm sure the most dugg down comment would involve racial comments or off topic ranting.
Oh yeah. what busch30pack said below. - feoza, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19yeah...lol like the first comment in here by sepultura. He's on his way...
- ricksite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19I wonder what he was wearing when he dugg it?
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19753 people, as of now.
- nickerbocker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Now why didn't the submitter just have it go to the original Digg article instead of a blurry screen shot that's not up to date anymore? Or would submitting an article to Digg that is linked back to Digg cause the destruction of the Universe as we know it?
- fluorite, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22'"Never EVER use JPEG compression on a screen shot of text. PNG compression will have a smaller file size and look way better and won't be blurry."'
'There are so many possible issues at work here, your hard and fast rule doesn't work at all. Please stop spreading it like gospel. You are hurting the children...'
This is certainly true 99% of the time, including this case. This case would be much smaller and clearer with PNG. Please don't imply that it is bad advice.
See http://www.wfu.edu/~matthews/misc/graphics/formats/formats.html and http://www.wfu.edu/~matthews/misc/jpg_vs_gif/JpgVsGif.html.
What that size favorably for GIF is even more true for PNG.
Would you like to point to a text page that captures better as a JPG than a PNG?
JPG is great for photographic images, lousy for text images. - BornWithRage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I thought i'd seen higher as well... not that i'm complaining, since my 'me too' comment earned me a spot in the screenie.
- CZzyzx41, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16About as interesting as your comment and this one explaining it.
- Zzyw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12We need a new category for digg-related stories. I'm not kidding.
- CZzyzx41, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I think you're still not getting it. This is the most dugg COMMENT. The iPhone story...is the most dugg STORY. When we start discussing Barry's chase at Aaron's home run record, please don't come in and say "But if I remember correctly, Pele scored more goals."
- addiggt, on 07/06/2009, -8/+18Hehe yeah gave it a shot. Didn't work out. :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17does anyone care?
- Lezlee798, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Your just trying to get the most dugg down comment. Pfft. Digg him down 5 times only please.
- expiredmeatbag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9no, it'll be an old comment by anicejew.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"digg is getting too lame. Number of diggs in a news comment getting in the news? how interesting is that?"
There's been stories like this on Digg for ages..
For example, http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Top_10_Most_Dugg_Comments was on the front-page 126 days ago - If Digg's search function wasn't so crappy, I'm sure I could find similar stories from longer ago.. - b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I'm digging him up :D
kid doesn't stand a chance - ryland2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Please answer this question, when over 600 people digg something, what the hell makes you think that it is important to comment and say lame? That is what the bury button is for...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Dugg for recursion.
Dugg for recursion.
Dugg for recursion. - MusicalGenius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6What's funny is when I digg the supposed 'real' most dugg comment, it no longer was below 2000 but at 2226 and I dugg it up for that reason alone.
- Neo189, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7DIGG ME SIDEWAYS >_>
- cp101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It's probably something that shuns Apple and praises Microsoft.
- Koray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7So THATS what digg looks like without adblock.
- Lemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Digg me sideways.
- avasol, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8The actual comment to the story, moron. Not the story itself.
- busch30pack, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13I am pretty sure that someone's comment about this story will become the most dugg down comment ever.
- notjamt9000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I got 1337 diggs for a comment, but the digg moderators deleted it and banned me for it.
Here it is: http://personales.ya.com/casitasoler/james/diggcomment/banned.html - Catchpen, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14Seems that after a comment gets around 100+ diggs, then people just digg it up to be "part of the crowd" and see how high it will go.
- EgyptianVicker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://digg.com/offbeat_news/Most_Dugg_Down_Digg_Comment_Ever_2
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7edit: i hate digg's comment system
