"brb" - Error601, on 10/28/2007, -1/+49Wow...that looks like a death trap in a fire.
- psycho79, on 10/29/2007, -0/+30Sometimes I forget that wallpaper can also be PAPER applied to an actual WALL.
I need to get out more. - Ndiggnation, on 10/27/2007, -0/+20I bet you're alot of fun at the strip club huh?
- SirZRX, on 10/27/2007, -1/+16i don't care if it is the most expensive wallpaper in the world.... it looks so ***** ugly
- navitatl, on 10/28/2007, -1/+13Only because everyone will be staying behind trying to grab as much money as they can.
- inactive, on 10/27/2007, -3/+13Not my kinda crowd... I think I saw my grandpa in there "hangin loose". Narly.
- wildc4t, on 10/27/2007, -0/+9"with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued" would be the key phrase there
- vwvan, on 10/27/2007, -1/+10that wallpaper is $9.00 a square foot.
not bad for how cool it looks. - inactive, on 10/27/2007, -3/+10I don't think I could go in there. The more I drank the more I'd want to steal
- abeg, on 10/28/2007, -0/+7not me I would use a bag with a big $ on it
- RuckusNutz, on 10/27/2007, -0/+6I thought it was Gnarly!
- Jofaba, on 10/29/2007, -2/+8I'd be more worried about their fire insurance. Would any of that be covered? It's not in a firebox so I would guess not. Seems like they're BEGGING for trouble.
- insomniac8400, on 10/26/2007, -0/+5That a take a dollar give a dollar wall?
- waymatter, on 10/27/2007, -0/+5I've been to the McGuire's in Pensacola...the bartender told me that they have to shut down the restaurant for one day each year so that they can count the cash for tax purposes.
- Dan137exe, on 10/27/2007, -2/+7I guess I'm not terribly surprised the theft rate is low. A robber would have to un-tack every single bill he wanted and then place the tack back on the wall (when stepped on, tacks can go through shoes!)
- a3r0, on 10/27/2007, -0/+4There's always money in the banan... err... pub
- dolemite5005, on 10/27/2007, -1/+5Looks... dirty.
- dboy3587, on 10/27/2007, -0/+4somin tells me that if you took a ***** load of dollar bills with marker on them it would raise a red flag when you go and spend them
- inactive, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3Wow; I haven't been to the No Name Pub in years. I don't remember it looking like that though. That can't be up to code, but that's the Keys for ya'.
- wilf_brim, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3I live around Pensacola. One guy decided that he would steal some of the money from McGuires. He didn't get away very long. The police found him pretty quickly with several hundred dollar bills with all the writing on them. Busted.
- SomeImagination, on 10/27/2007, -3/+5Fire hazard!
- themonkman, on 10/27/2007, -1/+3It's funny why people wonder why the Government needs to print more money to cover currency shortfalls. It's all hanging out in a pub somewhere with a dumb quote or message written on it.
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2It was and, as far as I know, still is the only bar on Big Pine Key which, despite its name, is pretty small.
- brwright, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2And I thought Digital Blasphemy's member prices were high!
- gullydwarf, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2Cool and all, but for some reason the ceiling of hanging bills looks disgusting.
- ppatalano, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2The coolest Chinese restaurant in NYC has this going on too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYzY7kwX3b4 http://thegluttonist.typepad.com/oie_69_walls.jpg
- Jofaba, on 10/29/2007, -1/+3I'd care why? I talk on digg, I don't talk to GET dugg.
- darny, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1ugly.
- inactive, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1It probably wouldn't be much worse than normal wallpaper, other than the stuff on the celing which probably wouldn't be much worse.
Looks ugly though. - Wacer, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1The money comes from the patrons writing on the dollar and having the bar put your dollar on the wall/ceiling. The money on the wall does not come from the bar owner.
- NightVortez, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I see why the theft rate is low, who the hell would spend the time trying to take down all those dollar bills? Wouldn't end up with much, most places wouldn't except them and if you try putting them in a bank you'll get arrested on sight.
- Wacer, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I have a bar that is similar to this in my town. It is a great place where people are real.
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1yea i went last summer (2006) when i first moved to florida. i dont know if they were 16 oz then or smaller, but i am planning a trip back soon, just gotta get myself psyched up for the 5 hour one-way drive seeing nothing but pine trees along I-10......
- shagen454, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I remember a place like this in Florida with dollar bills lining all the wealls. I was little so I don't remember where exactly it was but that to get there one needed to boat to an island to get to it.
- zyklon, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1$10/sq ft? Not bad for something that looks so awesome.
- Oomsoup, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I love you for that. :)
- Wacer, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1My family owns two bars and the "Sin Tax" and licenses are expensive. The government rapes bars/pubs for a huge amount of money because they know that they can get away with it. If you thinks it's hugely profitable, trying buying one and running it. You will find out that your prices have to be high just to turn a profit at all.
- scojerroc, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1Monkey Pubes? THAT is expensive wallpaper.
- Jofaba, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1If you look at the pictures, tons of the bills have big bold marker covering the entire thing. Others appear to be glued to the wall in patterns. I bought up the point mainly that I wouldn't be surprised if they get in trouble one day.
- inactive, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1You notice that this sort of thing could only happen in a white man's pub.
- mudlite, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1That has to be a fire hazard.
- offwithyourtv, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I dugg this story just for No Name Pub because I contributed to the wallpaper once (assuming my bill hasn't been stolen since then).
- Wacer, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1It's considered legal tender if the owner turns it into the bank. They would frown on the money entering the mainstream market though.
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1also, the restrooms are pretty crazy at McGuire's. the sign on the men's room is something like "the MEN'S ROOM is the other door. with "men's room" in big bold letters and the other writing in small letters. same with the ladies room, its funny to just hang around the restrooms and watch people going into the wrong one.
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1McGuire's is awesome, my fiance and i have a dollar tacked up on the rafter. if you ever go, order the "Ernie Burger". its not listed on the menu, but they will know what you're talking about. it's ***** great. i also heard that they shut down once a year to count all the money for taxes.
- kshea88, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I used to work for McGuire, they have three restaurants in Pensacola, Mcguire's, Crabs and Flounder's. His last name isn't actually McGuire though its Martin but he tells everyone hes Irish. Also the company accountant told me they pretty much guesstimate the amount of money up there; I don't remember them actually closing the restaurant to do it though. If you ever get the chance to go there the food is awesome; btw hcaulfield the burgers are up to a full 16 oz now.
- LetsGoHawks, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1My sister was a bartender for many years. One of the owners of one of those bars bought his wife a $60,000 ring for Christmas because "thought it looked cool".
Granted, he owned about 12 or 15 bars in the Chicago area at the time, but it sounds like he did rather well for himself. - Christbait, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1Nevar run out of beer tokens. EVAR.
- Wacer, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1Defacing money is actually against the law but banks to take them if the bar owner is trying to clean up the walls. After all, it gets so bad with bills that they have to be removed from time to time. A person off the streets hauling defaced money to the bank would definitely get a red flag. I wouldn't try pulling the money off the walls and spending it in the bar either, unless you want to get arrested for theft.
