- xsecretfiles, on 10/10/2007, -2/+91wall message posted: I'm ur mom lolz srsly ..n e wayz ttyl
- lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -1/+82That's pretty cool. Best thing about facebook is people don't usually use fake names.
- XHashmeerX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+59Great to hear a postive story from these sites rather than the usual molestation stuff.
- dannmann, on 10/10/2007, -4/+43yeah but who wants to have their mom on their friends list in facebook?
- sting2kx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34dude thats awesome. i looked them up on facebook. they have a group talking about their reunion.
- FvKdUp, on 10/10/2007, -3/+31....now they just poke eachother all the time
- Barr08, on 10/10/2007, -2/+25Don't group facebook in with myspace pal
- th3B3n, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21"Estranged Mom would like to add you as a friend.
How do you know this person?
[x] We met randomly" - Jadix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21I'm adopted. I found out in 5th grade when my "sister" enrolled in my school and confronted me. I didn't know i had a sister at the time...or another mother! Though this story is very heartwarming, I wonder what the boy's parents think of it? My parents weren't too happy about my birthmom finding me...
- helloelan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22My dad found me on MySpace, after 15 years of absolutely no communication. That was the weirdest moment of my life. I ***** fell out of my damn chair when I saw the friend request, and the face.
- RubberChicken, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23Statix: 1, Bush: 0
- mynameisryan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19thats not really your dad. Stop sending photos to him.
- azntiger1000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15This is great. Now this is what social networks are for and not for predatory people.
- jtb4, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15I hope my mom never finds me on there.
- compgeek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11very very heartwarming story. I haven't had an experience quite like that but did find friends I had lost contact with 12+ years ago on faceboox got together with them had some beers and did some catching up. facebook is great for finding old friends and making new ones
- lava, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I just did too. They're black, the story's picture has a blurred out white person and the caption, "Lori Hass said she recognized the son she gave up for adoption on a Facebook profile photograph." It's probably because it's a stock photo, but it's weird to me.
- filledevin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Wow. I've got to try that...down side would be my dad turning out to be a total loser.
- Archee, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Here's a group on Facebook that they made together.

- Leave account open in hopes of finding true mother! - techknight, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7My half-sister found me on Facebook last week. Previously I'd only met her the one time, about fifteen years ago.
We're talking now and hopefully I will get to meet my surprise niece! - Smog2k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6He said he was going to delete his facebook profile a few days before his mom contacted him. He must have missed this http://digg.com/tech_news/2504_steps_to_closing_your_Facebook_account
- chillmandan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Facebook, destroying and saving lives simultaneously.
- daytripper606, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6dude, this story is amazing.
- loconet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The group about the story (with pics): http://facebook.com/group.php?gid=2440527172
- KnytFyre, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I'm adopted too, and the thing that keeps me from looking for my birth mother is knowing, no matter what my life mother says, that the act of trying to find my birth mother would hurt her so much. I love reading these stories, it's good these two have found each other.
- eazhar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6teh win
- XHashmeerX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Myspace and Facebooks are two totally different animals. Trust me, I love Facebook. But because of the crap that goes on MySpace, many of these social networking sites catch a bad rap. It's just good to hear good things come from it to break the stigma I guess.
- galeninjapan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6In other news, some spam and a webcam girl reunite on myspace.
- TheSpore, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Search Facebook for "Lori Haas and Travis Sheppard's Reunion Story."
Awesome story. - 3lijah, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5When facebook asks me how I know someone, I always use the "I am ____'s father". I wonder if anyone takes it seriously..
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I used it for dates all the time in college. Actually what I would do is go to pay sites like yahoo personals and if I find a cute chick on there I'd look her up on myspace or facebook so I wouldn't have to pay to contact her (Who would pay 30 bucks to talk to a girl anyway lol)
It's a great way to find out which girls are actually going to be into meeting guys online and not think your a weirdo. I met my current girlfriend of a year and a half that way. - djdevnull, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Ha! I have this one beat! I just found my Sister on Myspace. Then my Father using google. I lost my sister when my mom died at 15 and I've never meet my father until last week.
- fishrjv, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5i used facebook to find my first girlfriend.
bitch stopped poking back though - iStunT, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Dugg for the first 6 highest dugg up comments.
- griffeycom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Actually, you can search by name and you're supposed to enter your name in your settings (but your name isn't available for people to see), you can also search by display name.
- lisaawesome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I found several cousins I hadn't talked to in over a decade through MySpace. One day it just occurred to me to search for their names and there they were! I had no idea where they were living or how to contact any of my extended family so without the internet I never would've gotten to know them. I think it's awesome seeing people get reunited through these kind of sites.
- deboosher, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I don't remember hearing any stories about molestation on Facebook.
- XHashmeerX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Harvard in Boston, MA specifically
- HornyFox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can get a lot of chicks with a personal story like that!
- yensed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I love these type of stories. I reunited my father with his 3 daughters using myspace. I didn't even need to create a myspace account to do so. Which is both amazing and spooky at the same time.
- FadieZ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This actually happens a lot on Facebook. I constantly see people opening topics just so they can find long lost loved ones. I'm glad to see it worked at least once. Touching story :)
- adstyle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2amazing story! that's my next short movie...
- archlich, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Oh, not the Harvard in Mississippi.
... - MScrip, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3That's the best reason of all. You can search your friends easily. Facebook wins the usability round.
MySpace lets people change their display name... which is what it uses to search. How the hell can I find Carissa if her name is spelled [♥]CaRiSsA[♥]. Even if she is in my friends list... I still can't find her! - MScrip, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2MySpace search has definitely improved... It's used to drive me crazy to have a dozen pages of friends.. and I could never find any of them without searching each page and hoping I could recognize their thumbnail! How is this social networking, if you can't find friends that are already on your list?
Facebook is much better at everything. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2What makes you say he didn't get both?
