- CannedMango, on 10/10/2007, -8/+70BREAKING: millions of people ain't none too bright.
- coolian, on 10/10/2007, -5/+62Bleh, what a boring Antichrist. JC would be disappointed.
- xW1TN3SSx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+45I believe that the anti-christ was supposed to come across as a wiseman until just before the rapture. The fact that millions are assuming this guy is the spawn of satan is the #1 reason he's not.
Either that or I've got some repenting to do. Fast. - nublet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+41no pic, no digg.
- MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -11/+46That's funny. I would have thought Bush already took that position.
- Seph7, on 10/10/2007, -1/+28Na, for it to be Bush the title would have to read "Billions believe this man is the Antichrist"
- scarfo1984, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21dugg down for inaccurate title of antichrist!
- fredkreuger, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Mean is what bad people are, and the median is in the middle of the road.
- Prokaryote, on 10/10/2007, -19/+36"Ban all religions"
You're an idiot. - gatorsrule21, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13My mom thinks that Bill Gates is the antichrist.
No, seriously. - carpespasm, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16openly gay bishop != SATAN HIMSELF!!!!
- profertel, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16You forgot to say have sex with your daughters, like Lot.
- EntropyMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10And even fewer know the difference between the mean and the median.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+10Does she pray to Linus Torvalds?
- Spytap, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Well at the very least, half of them are of below-average intelligence...
- hollowex, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13Jesus changed those laws. Read the sermon on the mount. Love thy neighbor, Jesus says love thy enemy. so on and so forth. Jesus basically said let people be and think and believe what they want. Tell them the truth and if they don't want to hear it then let it be.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Dude, the udder is totally the best part of a cow!
- greyghst168, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12If you had ever actually read the Bible, you'd know that the laws in the Old Testament were part of the old covenant between God and the Israelites. Once Jesus came and died and rose from the dead, people were no longer required to adhere to the old laws. Instead, they were to simply love God and love their neighbors as themselves. So yes, you can be a Christian and pretend the old testament does not exists, but most Christians acknowledge and study the Old Testament because it not only contains a great deal of history, but it also contains some very wise rules and practices that can still be applied today.
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Attempting to speak for the opinion of millions = stupid.
- panicofficer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Have you read your Bible lately?
Matthew 5:17-18
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
I'm not saying Prohest's theology is any better (by far worse) but he is apparently just trying to start a flame war. - McLumpy, on 10/10/2007, -16/+22"So dont kid your self, if you belive in God you support; killing gays, the right to enslave your daughters, stoning and killing annoying/disrespectfull kids, rape, massmurder and discrimination and the list goes on."
You don't have to follow Old Testament law to believe in God, *****. - jessekeys, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8if you want to get on this level at least know what you're talkin about... jesus changed a lot. e.g. after his sacrifice there were no need for animal offerings anymore and so on.
@ prohest: just because the bible says gay love isn't right doesn't mean they should be killed or anything. christians who do that have not understood a single word of what jesus wanted to teach...
god, i hate it when religious topics pop up on digg because everyone wants to tell their opinion while 90% that gets posted is just plain ignorant fud from people who haven't even read the bible (or koran) itself... - thrallie, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Funny, if you are openly gay and have sex apparently you too can become the anti-christ.
- kebwi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Banning religion would just make it "cool".
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Hah, Scotsman. I'lll sooner read an article on The Enquirer before I read anything on that publication. Bollox, all of it.
- Cyberen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Mistake #1: assuming that being gay has some sort of cosmic significance.
Mistake #2: being a spineless worm and marrying a woman after lying to yourself that you're not gay.
Mistake #3: being a drama queen about it. - timusca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4For those of you that will say "Pic or it didn't happen"...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Robinson - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I thought the story was going to be about George W Bush, based on the title!
- Echarter, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Big deal, a Bishop is openly gay. The real shocker is that the Church supported public torture, and hangings. Murdering thousands of innocent, normal, and natural people. Using trickery, fear, and manipulation to seize land and riches.
I wonder if people were all up in arms like they are over this when they realized that the sermon on the mount was ignored, and a blind eye was cast. That is not what is meant by turning the other cheek.
Did Jesus pick and choose?
There is no love in power and fear.
At least there is love in that Bishops heart. - fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8So you don't actually know what distinguishes the new and old testaments, but you still feel comfortable talking about it.
- Scottamus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Millions also believe the Earth was made 6000 years ago, Iraq is responsible for 9/11, and Fox is unbiased.
- Kitsune818, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Weird, I expected some cult figure, instead it's my churches bishop! I haven't met him myself, but he is spoken very highly of. New Hampshire Episcopals occasionally get treated a bit different, though, because we've got a gay bishop and a few gay priests. Personally I don't get why it matters so much.
Oh, and we've got female priests too. The horror!! - kakwakas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3....And many believe this boy is Moses/Christ/Buddha reborn.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddha_Boy - Grego123, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Millions eh? yeah ***** right
- eekfuh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Millions of what?
- minox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The headline here is a bit absurd. I went to a seminary with a number of Episcopals and I never once heard them even reference belief in the antichrist. Second, Robinson is just an average gay drunk, not the antichrist.
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4FTA: Christians the world over are convinced - absolutely assured - that this man is the Antichrist. They believe he is the Devil, sent to destroy the church from within.
Sorry but they don't need the devil for this task. They have been doing a bang up job all by themselves for a while now. - mtrip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3And then all the kids would want to do it.
- Kenzan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Dug for the use of the word "Bollox" in a sentence.
- Waterrat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4 Egads! I know a *****-load of anti -Christs!
- Acglaphotis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I'll spell it to you:
S-A-R-C-A-S-M - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I had a dream once that I got a wish and that I wished that Catholics could only get pregnant through anal sex; am I bad?
- omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3buried for inaccuracy, first comment in the article is correct, the author must have an agenda and post on freerepublic
- sinurgy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Actually the "antichrist" is supposed to be very charming, endearing and a uniter. I'd say Bush easily fails on all three of those accounts.
- ManJamimah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm an Episcopalian and attended the General Convention of the Episcopal Church last summer in Columbus, OH. Rev. Gene Robinson was there, and I got the chance to attend a service with him and hear a sermon of his. Millions of people may think he's the Anti-Christ, but millions of others think he is a wonderful man pushing our church in the right direction.
- BESTenemy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Departing from the article all together, just a though of what the opposite of Christ would be.
Antichrist would be of a homosexual birth to a couple of gay billionaires, be able to turn wine into water, cripple perfectly healthy people, walk underwater, take food from the hungry, while promising hell on earth for every living soul. He would hate every single person on the planet, including the ones that were nothing but good to him. Suspecting betrayal, he'd not even waste 30 pieces of silver arranging a hit. He'd do it with a baseball bat.
...my imagination runs out at this point - loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://duggmirror.com/offbeat_news/Millions_believe_this_man_is_the_Antichrist/
- Waterrat, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Well,they TRY to ruin everything,anyway...
- kazamx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2So GWB can't be him then
- colsandurz45, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2does this mean that guiliani isn't the anti-christ?
