- ChillEnt, on 10/11/2007, -8/+98and so began the age of obesity in the United States...
- SlamShut, on 10/11/2007, -1/+54Want to know what's really weird?
That's Willard Scott playing Ronald McDonald.
Yes, THAT Willard Scott-- the old weatherman on the Today Show.
Small freaking world, isn't it? - rattenmaus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+53I liked the part best where he said "hi kids, isn't watching tv fun?"...
- Digitalfilm43, on 10/11/2007, -19/+54WHY isn't this in the VIDEO Section???
Buried for Wrong Topic.
It's not offbeat news (or news at all) IT'S A VIDEO! - DiggChainey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+35That's almost as scary as the first Pizza Hut commercial.
http://xoinks.com/mov/view_video.php?viewkey=0c30a3e4b79b64ec8d5b - rhinopig, on 10/11/2007, -1/+30He reminds me of a homeless person wearing trash for clothes.
- SeaMowse, on 10/11/2007, -1/+27Wow... I was the most 'scared' when I watched him do that hideous jig at the end!
- Scheissen, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23I buried this. Post videos in the VIDEO section. This isn't news, unless you're a fatty.
- CornStarch, on 10/11/2007, -6/+23We need a video section.
- drjekelmrhyde, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17First KFC commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8l5Fk_xz0w - g2g079, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16about 10 years ago we had a assembly at school where Ronald Mcdonold came to do magic tricks. The only assembly I remember where the kids were actually paying attention. There was no learning envolved. Just Ronold spreading his Mcdonolds propaganda. It makes me wonder how much Mcdonolds paid the schools for that kind of advertising.
- BlackMagic2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14FYI, to my fellow diggers who submit things to digg, if you find that you have to put [video] after the title of a story, you could probably bet that it belongs in the VIDEO section.
- honds, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13No one uses the video section because you and the submitter use the excuse "no one uses the video section" instead of trying to start a trend and actually using it!
- haleym, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12We have one - what we need is for people to actually use it.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+10I went to a catholic school in third grade (~ten years ago) and we had the same thing. He came in and did nothing but magic tricks, gave out cheap prizes and coupons and talked about McDonalds for like an hour.
- lougoose, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10When a grown man dressed as a clown says he likes to do everything boys and girls like to do, then invites them to come over, that's usually not a good sign.
- cien750hp, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12im not sure how to tell you this... but today is saturday.
- Flare, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Even better than this commercial is one of the recommended videos:
Ronald McDonald's Daughter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMUb0aQCaz8 - ScorpioPT, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10I think we broke You Tube...
- qwertylicious, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Dugg for "hamburger-eating-est clown"
- archer104, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8"To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kinda scary. I've wondered where this started, and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus and a clown killed my dad."
-Jack Handey - psmonteiro, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7The magic tray effect was really amazing! How did they do that?
- OodlesOnoodles, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6And you can look exactly like those fat ass kids if you eat lots of KFC.
- marx2k, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5He wouldnt be saying that if he saw current network lineups.
- scotsman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5... and look at the size of Willard Scott. A nice advertisement for McDonald's and obesity.
- MasterThief117, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Hmm, Ronald's daughter doesn't seem that bad actually
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMUb0aQCaz8&NR=1 (not family guy) - jknevitt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Even worse: Willard Scott is the one who created the Ronald McDonald character, pretty much on the fly. They got the guy into the outfit and basically said "go for it".
- wvannus, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Dude. The first video that shows up after this one ends. His daughter. Yeah.
- jennamalia, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Grossly inaccurate. It didn't scare me that much, and I'm still alive.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Both of those videos are mentally retarded.
- marx2k, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2consider you probably saved yourself $5.50 in medical expenses further on down the road - but then again, if youre already buying 2 meals at once as a matter of course, you're probably already experiencing some problems. You work in a Pizza shop and you go to McDonalds? You think McDonalds is 'skimming' you because you got half an order? Look at the price youre paying for the quality of the food you're getting.
- stoikiometry, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4It's because of that magic tray. *shudder*
- peranadigital, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think "You can't eat there, it's more of a museum" describes every mcdonalds I've ever been to.
- marx2k, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3So Pizza Hut used to sell pizzas with realistic portrayals of current day driving skills and benny hill antics?
- Pyrogen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Indeed, the Japanese have... interesting interpretations of Ronald's lineage.
- OodlesOnoodles, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I think he looks scarier as himself. http://www.petloveshack.com/Scott.jpg
- jigeen, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3can't sleep, clowns will eat me.
- jennamalia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2on Google.com
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=first+mcdonalds+restaurant&btnG=Google+Search - mattcoady, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Not by the looks of them burgers
- jennamalia, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Next time, sober up a bit and check your order before you leave the drive-up window.
Voila, problem solved. As to the irreparable damage that you're doing to your body by eating at McDonald's, well, I can't help you there.
(Pssst, and yes, *****' a, you are an ***** like that!) - GideonCDingle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Only Americans are fat, and only McDonalds causes obesity. I hate conditioned memes.
- matthewf01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Interesting thing about all these old commercials... they really are trying hard to push their products onto you, having a clown point to and acknowledge that he eats hamburgers and that he loves them and you should too, or a jingle basically saying "eat here eat here eat here". Nowadays just show us some flagship product ("here's our new hamburger isnt it big?") like its a fattening carrot on a string and we are automatically lured in. Much less 'pushing the sale' going on.
Just saying.
Also for those of you who haven't seen it,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTSdUOC8Kac
Jason Alexander (of Seinfeld fame...) in a commercial for "McDonalds McDLT"...
funny that they call it "lettuce-and-tomato-hamburger"... never heard of it. - iith096, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What is so scary about this? Just a crappy video of a retard running around with a tray of food on his head.
- dbizzell, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not as good as the dance I'm about to do on your face. HA. Get it!
- monkbot1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it's amazing to see how little has changed over the years (now it's just shinier)
- MikeMacMan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Wow this is creepy
- webtroll, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Must have been the inspiration for Pennywise the Dancing Clown in Stephen King's "It" ;-)
- SocketNine3Nine, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2another way to get a heart attack from McDonalds...
