- dudio, on 12/22/2007, -3/+90Giant bones?
- Erik1, on 12/22/2007, -3/+59They look normal size to me.
- djcreamy, on 12/22/2007, -9/+65Very professional. I especially enjoyed the part where they chipped through bone and rock with a shovel, presumably looking for more bones to destroy. If there are no skulls, it's probably because they have been taken, or because the bodies were put down there without skulls. Either way, it is worthy of research, not desecration at the hands of amateurs.
- ninephoenixes, on 12/22/2007, -3/+54For some reason this video made me think of the Blair Witch project.
- thetanbark, on 12/22/2007, -4/+42If there were to be a Goonies 2007, this video would be it.
- Asianwaste, on 12/22/2007, -1/+37In the bases in Japan, there are lots of base legends that underneath the Kanto plain there's a tunnel network that existed during the days of World War II. The tunnel stretches from Yokosuka all the way towards Zama, Kamiseya, and Atsugi. This tunnel network was an underground military base of operations during the frequent (and I guess highly anticipated) fire bombings.
When I was stationed in Atsugi, I found a couple of the entrances but they are closed off after some small distances. Now they are just loaded with a bunch of weird bugs (they look like the bugs from Starship Troopers, no joke)
The most interesting rumor is that underneath there is an underground hospital that got hit hard by a flash flood, thus drowning the whole Japanese medical staff and the patients that lay within. The hospital was simply sealed off. Never saw it myself but the tunnel entrances I found certainly leads one to believe. - avatarpalin, on 12/22/2007, -4/+36Waterboardasaurus...
- Toolie, on 12/22/2007, -0/+29thats interresting Native Americans also lived in Germany?
- decoy18, on 12/22/2007, -0/+29For more interesting stuff on this cave check out this account from the 1500's: http://cavelore.com/buchnerreport.htm
Also, there is an interview with the guy who filmed this video on the 12/7/07 episode of the Mysterious Universe podcast: http://mysteriousuniverse.org/?p=1867 - EserVerx, on 12/22/2007, -1/+30I saw no giant bones...
- antoniuk, on 12/22/2007, -4/+27Everyone knows WWII was made up by the entertainment industry to sell movies. I doubt this is even a real cave. Who ever heard of "Germany". Sounds fake to me.
- soljerchim, on 12/22/2007, -7/+30dumb asses. there is more to archaeology than digging up crap with a shovel or else i wouldn't have had to go through all that expensive schooling. what they are doing is vandalizing and removing context. no bones that were shown were anything human, too robust. and the bones only showed what looked to be a animal discard pile, trapped animals over time, or a den of a predatory animal long ago. it was probably sealed to keep people from looting what little significance was there. oh, and i especially liked the scientifically bashing a bone against a rock, i wanted to punch them in the throat.
there is no conspiracy here, just three idiots playing like they know something while destroying history. - veloscaper, on 12/22/2007, -2/+25and Bears like to build metal doors and bars.

- Aharoni, on 12/22/2007, -1/+18I kept expecting for some evil stuff to happen... I mean, it even had some colorful characters "soldier guy" and "cameraman"... it was all set up for a big spooky ending where everyone dies... but nothing happened. Pfft.
- budser, on 12/22/2007, -2/+19Anybody see the link to the ufo-bible site? WTF
- beetleguise8, on 12/22/2007, -0/+16I am an osteologist and there are definitely human bones there. I just scanned through the video and saw a human humerus and human lumbar vert.
- inactive, on 12/22/2007, -1/+16There were blogs in 1500?
- hackntossh, on 08/27/2008, -0/+15I'm not sure "mass grave" is the title I'd use. I think if I were to digg this article the title would have been, "Three goons find bones in a cave."
- thebusdriver, on 12/22/2007, -8/+23What if they are just animal bones? They found no skulls. They seemed to assume they were human.
- hockey, on 12/22/2007, -0/+14Haven't you heard? Thanks to the internet everyone is an expert in everything. Training and skills are over-rated not when I can probably do it better myself. . .
Besides those guys probably stayed at a holiday inn express last night. - Darmichar, on 12/22/2007, -1/+15When they were digging near the end, I actually turned the volume down waiting for a CG Dragon to show up and start attacking them.
- delta013, on 12/22/2007, -1/+14Hey look it's Gulliver... Oh crap! That means we're the small people...
- kleevr, on 12/22/2007, -3/+14Okay, I realize I'm a conspiracy nut with too much time, but... just here me out, and dissuade me.
If you track back the website on WHOIS this is the story you get:
created about a month ago cavelore.org (11-25-07) by a publishing company who's registrant info is blank, and whose whois account impless the oracleresearchinstute.com as a domain, which and is ALSO hosted on bluehost, with a blank install. And if I check the whois, it's ALSO hosted at bluehost, and recently registered with no page set up and showing folders, and get this. this domain was registered only 5 days after cavelore.org... I say this will be the location of the next clues in the ARG if it were one... but isn't it the slightest bit curious given JJ Abrams history and the secrecy of Cloverfield. Or have I totally lost with my reverse conspiracy theory? - Schneckehaus, on 12/22/2007, -15/+25What a total waste of time, and this coming from someone who loves watching slow boring documentaries. These people found nothing, and made a big deal out of it. Fools.
- ineedaname, on 12/22/2007, -4/+14Now that was an interesting video. Thanks for sharing it.
- equivokal, on 12/22/2007, -0/+8Seeing as how some of the bones were petrified and also how they were scattered about it's likely they've been there since the middle ages...and they weren't really "desecrating" anything since there were no individual graves. I'd like to know more about the history this place.
- DrGalakiewicz, on 12/22/2007, -3/+10This was a photoshop done by a member of Worth1000.com named "Ironkite". Check out this National Geographic article talking about it - http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/12/ph ...
I quoted most of it below:
December 14, 2007—Since 2004 this doctored image has helped give legs to tall tales of ancient giant humans. (Read full story.)
At least one version of the story—published in the March 2007 issue of India's Hindu Voice monthly and cited in countless blog entries and emails this year—claims that a National Geographic Society team helped make the "discovery" in India. (The National Geographic Society owns National Geographic News.)
The picture, however, is an innocent fake.
The image was lifted from Worth1000, a Web site that hosts contests for digital artists. Created by an artist using the alias IronKite, the picture placed third in a 2002 competition titled "Archaeological Anomalies 2," which asked contestants to “create a hoax archaeological discovery.”
“Man, this guy gets around!” said IronKite—who does not want his real name used in this story—after hearing his work had been used to back up the latest false reports. - dn11, on 12/22/2007, -1/+8yeah, i know what you mean. but I'm pretty sure this is for real - I heard about it on the BBC
- salsaman, on 12/22/2007, -5/+12yep-- inaccurate. burying...
- whiteguysamurai, on 12/22/2007, -1/+8A few thousand years ago, the cave bear was Europe's top predator.
From the size of some of those bones, i would gather they have stumbled into an along abandoned cave bear den. - inactive, on 12/22/2007, -4/+10I was thinking more of Blair Witch Project.
- patho, on 12/22/2007, -1/+7"we have a bone from the cave and it has been identified as a human humeral shaft or an upper armbone by an anatomy professor at Idaho State University. so many of the bones are human!" verbatim from the person who posted the video.

www.m-w.com - kleevr, on 12/22/2007, -3/+9Am I the only one who thought this was viral marketing for Cloverfield?
- Lax32, on 12/22/2007, -3/+9I love how he says "The government doesn't want us to be here" like it is a shocking fact.
... its an army base. Duh. They dont like any civilians there. - BaxterK, on 12/22/2007, -1/+7yea, what he said.

- startropic, on 12/22/2007, -1/+7ok, i am the one in the blue coat in the video. and yes, we are amateurs when it comes to unearthing a mass grave on a u.s. goverment live fire range. what did you want us to do? take three weeks of leave and go back with a brush while they are bombing from planes and apache helicopters? yes we dugg through the bones in a reckless manner i regret, but we were intent on finding a skull for proof of this grave... we found none (not even from an animal). We took a bone back with us and it has since been identified as a human humeral shaft or an upper arm bone. we are researching on how to carbon date it at this time without paying a hefty sum. what matters is that there is a mass grave on a u.s. training facility in germany and that nato currently uses it as a life fire range... not the fact that this is the first mass grave we have ever unearthed and how we are such amateurs.
- paloooz, on 12/22/2007, -0/+5That back bone looked gigantic. Are they really that big?
- mikebaldwin67, on 12/22/2007, -0/+5FACT: The government doesn't want you to know that bears are as smart as humans.
- jugglingjon, on 12/22/2007, -3/+8the cave is a lie
- yeoldeskool, on 12/22/2007, -3/+8its also possible that a bear lived in the cave. or more likey, a nazi bear!
- antoniuk, on 12/22/2007, -1/+5You need to get back on your meds
- -=IRonGRundy=-, on 12/22/2007, -1/+5We interviewed the maker of the video on the Mysterious Universe Podcast a few weeks ago.

- inactive, on 12/22/2007, -3/+7when he started to hit the bone on the cave wall, I was secretly wishing for something to jump out at him from one of the dark corners of the cave.
