- zagatbuzz, on 06/30/2009, -1/+76Its kind of funny that he threatened to sue unless a cop arrived, and then one did. To arrest him.
- BoneStamp, on 06/30/2009, -0/+54Finally, they make an example of one of these idiots. Yes, it's a crime that McDonald's stole your $8... but missing $8 is not an emergency; if you can't work it out with the child behind the counter and you're still worried about it then call the non-emergency police number.
- craftyguy, on 07/01/2009, -1/+41Wait wait wait, you can eat in the cop car??
- afruff23, on 07/01/2009, -0/+24Especially like ones that speak like this.
- Farmer77, on 06/30/2009, -1/+25Sounds like a Jerry Springer reject.
- Rain12913, on 07/01/2009, -0/+18Not just for being an idiot, but for putting other people's lives in danger. There was a submission from a few days back regarding the number of 911 calls that aren't answered due to under-staffing, and in some areas it was more than 50% of calls. Given that that's the case, I think this man should be charged with reckless endangerment and put in jail.
- Canadianinjapan, on 06/30/2009, -1/+18good
- hotshotveggie, on 07/01/2009, -0/+10Article was written June 28th.
- ihavefrowned, on 07/01/2009, -7/+17Man is ROBBED OUT OF for 8 dollars. They NEED to throw these MACDONALDS in jail IMMEDIATELY
- Jeff187342, on 07/01/2009, -2/+11Take it as chris rock intended it and the dude's right. There's certainly a large part of the black population that falls under that category and it's pretty hard to deny, not to say they're all like that or anything, that's just ignorant, but there are ***** and black people. This guy happens to fall under the former. Look forward to my burial since no one can let go of their "obligation" to be politically correct for more than a minute.
- fragMasterFlash, on 07/01/2009, -0/+9Its nice to see the paint huffers of the world getting out and experiencing life outside the tool shed.
- genepooldesign, on 07/01/2009, -0/+9Who's giving birth to all of these *****?
Well...STOP IT! - rawnzilla, on 07/01/2009, -0/+8I'm lovin' it.
- hotshotveggie, on 07/01/2009, -0/+8The article was written three days ago... how is that "really old"?
- Sogui, on 07/01/2009, -1/+8Who keeps saying this is old? The story is dated June 28, 2009 by a local news source.
Also the REAL story is in the 9-1-1 .mp3, that's some comedy gold right there. - Rain12913, on 07/01/2009, -0/+7This is the first paragraph of the Blog you just linked:
"While I’m waiting for Sham, my fishing assistant to buy fuel and stock up the tub, my thoughts go to something i’d heard in connection with the dark chocolate Bourneville.. ‘Earning it’, and what it means.."
Please tell whoever wrote that to step away from their keyboard. - tkcom, on 07/01/2009, -1/+7Catching Hamburglar couldn't be any easier.
- genepooldesign, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5You are aware that you don't actually have to click the link, right? If you just bury the *****...you've done your part.
- BrownieMix, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5It's kind of funny that he basically got arrested for being an idiot.
- Tubal22, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4And like, ones that forget to put 'this' in their sentences too.
- jake1337, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4Jerry Springer has REJECTS??
- dippyskoodlez, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4... He called 911, 3 times over it.
- BrownieMix, on 07/01/2009, -1/+4I wish this would happen more often.
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -1/+4Yeah, it MUST be. I mean, all your imaginary evidence just screams this fact. How could we have missed it until now?
- nepidae, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3stop giving these people attention. whats next, reporting every littering violation?
- masterstghm, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Call the damn police station, not the emergency dispatcher! If someone is being too loud in the middle of the night, you'd call the local police station. If someone is being shot at in the middle of the night, you'd call 911.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3I always thought they cuffed you and had those special backseats with the channels for your arms... WHO'DA THUNK IT!
- Tubal22, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3I saw on my local news tonight that another one called 9-1-1 because he was on the freeway driving to a lil wayne concert and either wanted a police escort (he actually asked for a helicopter in the 911 call) or wanted to make sure he wouldn't get pulled over for speeding.
- tonycomputerguy, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Does not link to the same article. 2 diff articles = not a dupe. Thanks tho. Cry harder *****.
- noremorse1, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3He sounded not white.
imjussayin - OpCzar, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3I said it before but here it goes...
Digg should implement a filter that instabans you if your post contains more than 3 url's. Also, if you have 3 or more posts that are exactly the same in different articles then you should get instabanned too. - Tubal22, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3That's the first thing I thought when I read the title. Then I read that it happened in Oregon and I felt bad because I stereotyped crazy people calling 911 for a hamburger. Then I saw his name and I felt even worse.
Then I saw a picture and I was vindicated. - SRSco, on 07/01/2009, -1/+3Oh, I get it, Chris Rock said it so it must be okay for anybody to say it. Chris Rock is funny. You aren't. Geckron isn't.
This isn't about feeling obliged to be politically correct or not. The problem is the word you used is just plain offensive to many many people. There isn't a word that is equally offensive for white people (and believe me, there are plenty of morons who have called 911 over botched fast food orders). So since you can't find an equally offensive word to apply to white people who call 911 for silly reasons, you aren't being reasonable or funny or clever, you're just using a racial slur.
Go ahead and bury me. The internet is full of racists anyway. - picosan, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Is calling 9-1-1 from McDonalds trendy now?
- palmer, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2NO DOUBT. People should be arrested on THE FIRST CALL for abusing our taxpayer-owned emergency system like this.
Sadly, this example is one of the more reasonable 911 calls like this. - poonjob, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2guess not
- skyfyre, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2It's actually not a criminal issue. It's a civil issue. The police won't be able to do much, if anything. Most people would have bitched about it for a minute, then chalked it up to experience and never ate at that restaurant again.
- Ocyris, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2The next time someone calls 911 to complain about their McDonald's order the cops should come out there and shoot them so we never have to deal with their stupidity again...
- rocknog, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2What I've always wondered is what on Earth leads these people to believe there is a connection between fast food service and 911. Forget the fact that it's stupid and an abuse of the system, never in a million years would I ever come to the conclusion that 911 has something to do with getting better fast food service.
- deadasdisco, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2ROBBLE ROBBLE!
- theBean42, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2What happened to the burger?
- chesscat, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Someone needs to check what's being put in McDonald's hamburgers that turns some people into nitwits.
- Diata, on 06/30/2009, -1/+3i wonder if his bail bondsman accepts happy meals
- diggcommentguy, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2I'm pretty sure there's a rule for this.
Edit: Yep, number 21. - Navicerts, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2It's a class thing not a color thing...
This guy grew up poor and uneducated and unfortunately was not able to rise above it. - Navicerts, on 07/01/2009, -1/+3Or just call no one at all and don't go to McDonald's anymore. You are a child if you need to "call in help" for this issue.
- masterstghm, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1Yeah, maybe if the police department was called, and not 911.
- skipvt, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2I bet if a McDonald employee called 911 and said some bloke got a hamburger and didn't pay for it they'd be right over tazers on full charge.
- SRSco, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Why did Geckron's ID and comment get deleted and Jeff187342's did not? Using the N-word should not be considered appropriate. It's not a matter of political correctness but a matter of racism.
- LikaLaruku, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1I never get sick of these reports. This is either the 5th or 7th time this year someone has either repeatedly called the police or opened fire at a fast food restaurant.
"Oh, go ahead & arrest me, but only after I get my $8 back." -
